Selinea said: I had a normal hotdog with ketchup and mustard, but it was boring, so I made a second hotdog with leftover shrimp scampi sauce and fried shoestring onions and it was amazing.
I'm not sure about that last one...
It was actually good Hibs! The shrimp scampi sauce that I accidentally made too much of was just a white wine reduction with melted butter, garlic, and italian seasoning, with parmesan cheese added in as a thickener, so think like, italian salad dressing, but without the vinegar and way creamier/better. And I would have diced regular onions but I was lazy and I had a gigantic bag of fried onions, so I just used those instead.
Do you know what does not taste good with hotdogs though? Artichoke antipasto. Artichoke antipasto in general is so hard to pair with anything, blargh. I snack on it with crackers and that's about it. It doesn't even go that well with ramen noodles, and every goes well with ramen noodles. ((Okay, that's a lie. Boiled zucchinis are nasty, but like, it's pretty rare for me to screw up a ramen experiment))
Anyway, for dinner, I had guacamole with pita chips, a broccoli and fish stir fry, and baked tofu (since the guacamole took so long, the tofu was just pressed, cubed, tossed with corn starch, salt, and pepper, and thrown in the oven)
