I mean, in the https://myanimelist.net/about/terms_of_use #3 Use of the Service:

You also agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "offline readers," "spiders," "robots," etc., that accesses the Service in a manner that sends more request messages to the Company servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period of time by using a conventional on-line web browser, and you agree not to collate or aggregate any of the content available through the Service for use elsewhere.

You are:
a) aggregating content to use somewhere else
b) accessing sites more than human can do

So, why are you not banned? I'm asking because I want to do a similar stuff (a & b).

I noticed on some old profile, they have this instead of the current one. Is this the old generate rating thing? If so, is this possible as an option? (They look better imo)

Whenever I visit the site, it keeps saying"JavaScript is disabled. Consider enabling it to get positive user experience." from about a week ago. But I didn't change any settings at all, and now I can't refresh my own profile.

Bit of a weird one, but I'm trying to get a clone of anime+ running on a test server to mess around with some things, does the git actually contain any kind of package list file that I can refer to to make it parseable by your average PHP environment?

I've been led to expect that this is pretty much obligatory to have in the home directory and I certainly can't seem to get it to run without fabricating one (Which then fails because I'm awful at writing php from scratch and the file I make doesn't parse).

@refael9190: the thresholds were raised (although that was like 4 months ago). You probably don't have enough titles to gain a level in it now.

I don't really know where to post this but I'd like to point out an error in the Missing titles recommendation : Because I watched Cheer Danshi!, it suggest me to watch Tegamibachi but those are two different stories with nothing in common.

@shinado_akimu : You have been awarded "A lot of free time" for passing 500. The 750 shown is the threshold for the next level, which would be "Not even my final form".

So this is fine the way it is.

aha so that's how it works, I thought that the progress bar is for the level on the picture, that's pretty weird but now atleast it makes sense.

Pinky Wakuwaku Tabi Stroll has a score of 3.67, but apparently the site thinks that it has a score of 0. This definitely isn't that big of a deal, but it's still a bit annoying. I don't suppose there's a way to fix it?

So did the thresholds for the achievements change because I used to be lvl. 3 for Slice of life and lvl. 2 for romance; now I'm lvl. 1 for both and I need to watch 89 and 77 anime respectively for lvl. 2? 89 seems like an odd number to have be a threshold for. 77 is odd too but not as odd as 89.

Achievements have recently been updated. The major change is in how some of them are calculated (by percentage from the total entries in the database instead of a set, fixed number; refer to my previous comment). This is probably why.

Because it is a 0.
Hover over the superscript (footnote 1) of the score on the anime's page. It will tell you that the show is not weighted. Meaning that this is the score is has now BUT there aren't enough scores for it be included in the MAL database as an anime with influence and weight (otherwise imagine a fresh anime just accepted into the database. Someone rates it a 10. It would now become the most highest rated anime on MAL. The weighted system avoids that).

Pinky needs at least 50 votes in order to become a weighted anime where its numbers are a real part of the database on a global ranking.
You can see the same when you do a general search for it

all three Pinky candy franchise anime have 0.00 scores because they are unweighted.

@Lisbon: as stated multiple times in the club and above, achievement thresholds were updated yesterday, so you just don't have enough titles to get it anymore.

@The_White_Wolf: Yes, I chose it because it is pretty well known, it's very good and it's one of the first shorts I watched that got me into watching shorts as a whole. Also it gives off the ephemeral, calming feeling, that I associate with shorts in general.

Alright, here are a few that I discovered yesterday, if I find more I'll edit the post.



Seeing as most of these are crossovers, I was wondering if I could make a suggestion to while having crossovers be separate from their respective series to have them possibly show up as recommendations based on how you scored their respective parent entries so that fans of those series can discover them more easily? Just like make a list of those crossovers and implement the code where they split the franchises like before then add code to recommendations which checks if the anime is part of that list (like with static recs) and does that? I mean, it’ll be pretty difficult since it’s adding more code to a code that you didn’t write for a not very important feature, but I thought I’d throw it in there.

@animeno: I believe that the Favorite Types pie chart counts your Watching and Completed together.
