| Need subs for most scenes to judge. Doctor Gil felt so rushed...I hope we'll get some more for the BDs? But Lancer was great imo. The face when Shirou thanks Rin...remember it well ;) 4/5 for now,could change after the subs but overall this was gud imo |

| First half of the episode as HORRIBLY rushed(as an example the first 15 seconds before the OP? That could have been anywhere between 4 and 6 minutes) AS a result the distortion scene is half assed and the flashback REALLY does not do justice to shirou's character or the horrors he has seen in the fire. No wonder people keep claiming that "that fire was not that bad". The pacing issues rear their heads in terms of random mood swing too - one second they are burying a loli and talking about issues and trusting others, the next second - "dont steal my tsundere" comedy. And all filled with generic tsundere abusing generic MC Well at least the ACTUAL "don't steal my tsundere" scene as half decent. Possibly the only decently done part of episode. It will come out of nowhere for anime onlies though as there's ABSOLUTELY no sign of him teasing or trolling Rin before this, so this "change in behavior" is outright jarring for anime onlies. At least it was devoid of generic tsundere violence unlike scenes before that. And now it brings us to the weird part - they rushed the first half as hell. And second half was....nothing but padding of ridiculous cringe pacing, scenery shots, and silence. And we got a WHOLE whopping 1 second of Caster's past, which would have had SOME effect or feels if they actually bothered to show her past instead of gatorade master filler episode. Overall holy shit this was rushed as hell. The tone sways between them burrying Illya and Lancer's scene were beyond hilarious lol. I thought they'd slow down at this point, but NOPE. Can someone explain why they rushed the first half only to pad out the second half of episode then? Holy pacing issues batman. 3/5 |

In fact it SHOULD have been the whole episode ending with Lancer's appearance because holy mood swings. The 15 seconds pre op covered something that deserved at least 4 minutes. We got whopping 2 minutes of random fire shots too instead of giving them depth and possibly making up for SOME lack of Shirou's characterization and development. then the second half of episode was padding. |

| Please consider the fact that the 2nd cour will probably have more cut scenes, which may make it seem rushed. Just saying... EDIT: It should be obvious, if you compare the amount of episodes that are being aired in TV. I doubt the 2nd cour would have lesser runtime than the first cour (I am obviously not counting OST as "runtime" in this case) |

Either way I am not really attached to these versions of those characters to care that much. I am not watching this show for generic two MCs lately. I learned my lesson not to expect depth from this. I am watching Just for certain fights, so I am okay with either. |
