...I like it... The fandom sort of sucks, like most do though. But, I'd still say I'm a pegasister if it didn't sound so stupid.

I remember doing some research on the whole phenomenon for some gender and media coursework in psychology when I was at college. Used a now-defunct public forum as a case study after learning that the show had acquired an unusual peripheral demographic, and worked out a few averages like age and gender. I watched some of it to try and understand how it appealed to all those teenage and adult males, and I'm still mystified about its popularity among that kind of crowd, but I suppose it's each to their own. It's harmless enough, but I was convinced most of the peripheral audience (going by the forum I studied) were in denial of their emerging adult responsibilities and sort of regressed to hide from them. But that's not specific to My Little Pony, I think that applies to any form of escapism.

I remember trying to watch it once. I actually somewhat enjoyed the first episode, but the show it self was too colorful for my eyes, so I never continued it.

It's a good enough show.

I'll never get back the hours I've wasted with the fandom, though.

The first two seasons were actually quite good. Then the quality dropped during the 3rd season when Lauren Faust was no longer overseeing the writing. Never bothered to check out the following seasons after that. As for the fandom, anyone who calls themselves a brony is nothing more than an attention whore.

Eh... I used to be a part of the fandom a long time ago so I can't really hate them. Honestly there's no real point in hating on things like that. As much as you scream "MLP SUX AND U LIKING IT GIVES ME CANCER U FRIKIN AWTISTIC TRASH" to MLP fans, I'm pretty sure that's not gonna change what they like. They have the right to like MLP as much as we have the right to like anime.
Unicorns are real.

Bowties are cool.

I'm a noob.

I'll put an actual signature later.

Deal with it.

Its wonderful! The season 5 premiere was really great. I find it odd that such a show would have an episode about communism though. But whatever.
I will say that I'm not as big on the show as I was back when it was at season 2 but I still watch it with some friends every now and then.

Season 5 is pretty great.
Also the term brony is just a term used to describe someone's interests. It may have nothing to do with attention.

Ive seen up to season 2 then lost interest, it was never as good as the two series. The minute it started purposefully aiming at the 'brony' demographic it lost its charm.

Don't watch it, but I don't judge people who do at all. I will probably watch plenty of anime that are also meant for little girls in the future
Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... and my arm... even my fingers. The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past."

Don't know. Never watched the show or found it interesting so I can't really give my opinion on the show. I've also never had any encounters with a MLP fanboy online or irl other than one of my friends, but I wouldn't say he fits the common stereotype that the internet portrays their fanbase to be. Honestly, if you're into the show, cool, doesn't really affect me in the end so I could care less.

Also, every fanbase has that "group" of people that makes people dislike them. MLP is no different.

I have no feelings toward the product, either the original toys or MLPFIM which I watched a couple of times and thought was ok without leaving much of an impression on me. The bronie fandom is very embarrassing, a cancer to society, grown men acting like little girls. FFS

But this almost made it worthwhile

I actually enjoy watching the show, mainly because I'm young and quite feminine in some ways so I kinda imply to a female kid as people state the show is for. The show was created for both parents and children alike to enjoy, but it is mainly for kids.

The fandom kinda scares me though, they're taking the discussions to a whole new level, they are even worse than me who is autistic. I have mixed thoughts about adults liking the show, it doesn't really bother me but being aware of that there's 40+ with rooms full of merchandise from MLP freaks me out. Don't even get me started at all the porn based on the show.
Please send help.

It's pretty typical of kids' shows today, made using research into what keeps kids' eyes glued to the screen (something taken to the extreme in Dora the Explorer). The pacing, visuals, and voices are off-putting to me as an adult, and I wouldn't choose it for kids to watch (I'd rather choose stuff the whole family can enjoy, like what I liked as a kid—Toei, Ghibli, stop-motion). I'm not sure why it might appeal to adults, I suppose the fantastical stories, and the whole cast of pony characters to collect.

If you like it, there's nothing wrong with it, I won't judge what other people enjoy or find meaning in on their own time. I don't get bronies, but I don't like people generalizing the fandom as being all gross men.

Here's a story…one of my cousins a few years younger than me was into MLP as a kid, largely because he liked collecting the toys. I tried playing with him, but he insisted the ponies had be the characters from the show, but I wasn't familiar enough with them, and didn't care about them, so I gave up. I later heard that he kept them until he was in high school, but when he heard about people at his school bullying a classmate who called himself a brony, he got rid of them promptly.
