Both are shortcuts.

The only difference is that the one in HF actually leads to negative consequences.Depending on the endings you go for at least.

But the HF one is more of a shortcut IMO. Anyway this is dwindling more and more into subjective stuff lol so I'll stop for now.

I'm trying to reserve judgment for now but I don't have high hopes. I'd love nothing more than to be surprised though.

But even if UBW does fall flat on its face, ufo's track record is pretty solid. Eliminate the common factor between the two Type-ufo fails, and ufo would be purfect again. ^_^

Darn, that's what I like, though.

Anyway perhaps not related to this specific thing but I find people who equate "amount of fighting skills / powers" as "amount of badassery" to be rather childish.

Yes. As long as one of Tsuki's routes doesn't get assigned to Miura.

If it does, we all should commit sandpakku.

Ufotable have a good track record but individual staff members are more important than the studio as a whole. Hence why KnK6 was a travesty and UBW was lackluster.

Well, I really like what they did with Sakura in the few, early episodes they did show her. I have high hopes for H/F even with this director, but I wouldn't be against getting a better one.

At this Point I will just start recomending people to read the VN before even trying to watch anything of fate and then just look up ufoubw fight scenes on youtube.

If you want F/SN... ? If you want something else, you can read something else, but why are you here then? Are you stupid?

Which is why I said that the common factor between the two Type-ufo fails should be eliminated. Everything Type-ufo that hasn't been touched by that guy has been godly so far.

But the problem in KNK 6 was the script, not in the direction, from what I know. Miura was also the scriptwriter?

Damn, looks like whatstaunt has found brand new trolling grounds... I had hoped he sticked to /r/anime. Fyi he's actually a VN fanatic who is hyped as fuck about this adaptation, but he only seems to show that deredere side on /r/fatestaynight :P

For me all this anime did is shattering the credibility of a few certain MAL users. If the anime is a reason to consider ufotable as "having failed this time", I'll reserve that judgement when the anime is complete.

As for Miura... Even word of god says that Miura "is a guy you can count on". People dislike him for one failure and since then quite some time passed. The "mistakes" in ufoUBW are things I consider "nitpicking". Maybe people should instead look at themselves and their expectations instead. I noticed a trend when it comes to adaptions that in almost all the cases shows that are "too hyped" are disappointments for the "greatest fans".

And I bet YOU know more about that, right? You even "knew" the fact that Rin "kicked" Shirou because the spoilers said that... and continued to persist on that even after the actual EP aired and showed that it was just a "push" from behind.

And no, I am neither "hyped", nor do I have the "delusional thought" that the anime is "perfection".

Oh and let's be honest people. I read "we don't want a 1:1 adaption or all of the monologues at all! Stop making up straw men!" all the time from VN readers, however I have a hard time believing that when I see things like "ufo y u no add ever-present feelings?" from the majority of VN readers...

I have yet to ever see people admit that they are affected by nostalgia in arguments about a "new version" of things. Best example would be Star Wars and some of the ridiculous "arguments" people use to bad-mouth the prequel trilogy. Same thing here. VN is over 10 years old now. People are bound to have nostalgic feelings, escpacially those who read the very first fantranslations or even RAW.

So counter a strawman with a strawman, mind blown.

Wanting iconic music obviously leads to the conclusion of wanting 1:1 adaptation with every single monologue intact.

And when we get to HF they better have Kirei's 30 min speech about Kerry or I'll rate the adaptation 1/10.

That is a straw man in itself though. I saw many arguments being "VN readers just don't like that it's not the same as the VN", which was denied in the same way. I am not refering to the times when people where specifically talking about Shirou's characterization.

Now here we have valid criticism. It's true that sometimes it seemed as if the artstyle changed from one episode to the other, escpacially when it comes to Rin. I must say I liked it in F/Z more as well, though I didn't re-watch F/sn in BD version yet, while the F/Z version I watched was already the BD one.

People can become better or worse over time. Just not Miura. According to some people it's a law of the universe that Miura is always bad and always at fault. It's a fact that is just as valid as Lancers always having Rank E luck.

Because flipping the table completely after one (arguably) failed adaptation after 2 successful ones is just ridiculous.

I at least base my arguments on material from people who are actually involved in the production in some way. Not from some trolls who mix up truths with lies to make the best bait possible (or being just "talented" enough to completely mix up the order of things). Though possibly translation mistakes could be the reason as well. Remember "original route"?

Good Lord.

All hope is lost, then: I'll have to suffer through a (hypothetical) F/HA adaptation with a noseless Bazett.

And that still changes nothing. Praising a product that's not finished doesn't mean the end product is still worthy of praise.

Even though i agree on some of the points you made, I'm gonna have to interject here.
In a publicly published interview about a currently airing show, this kind of praise doesn't really mean much. It's the only thing he can say in this situation.

I don't get this. I think that KnK had incredible character designs. The best I've ever seen, in fact. Why not just use the same style to make FSN characters...

But blaming someone because "lol, director" is valid? The interviews made quite clear that they had quite a lot time constraints. I often see the argument thrown around that when someone other than Miura makes a mistake, it's still Miura's fault for not having it revised. It's quite possible though that even if Miura wanted to revise something, he would not be able to completely make the staff redo it, because of time constraints.

Also you talk about "end product", but I don't think it can be seen as an "end product" until one sees at the very least all the TV episodes. In that regard I am quite confident that Naus has more knowledge about it than us.

That's a fair point. Still if he REALLY was as incompetent as people say, why would ufotable risk using the "incompetent" guy in such a large-scale project? You would have to blame Kondo on that one, since he appearantly is the guy to decided to have Miura be the director according to the interview. From a business standpoint it makes no sense to use someone who's ability you cannot trust.

I am actually a little bit sad that they didn't include the scene where Rin says that on the rooftop to Shirou. It would have been hilarious... instead we got "Archer-class really is made out of Archers".

Already said I'm waiting till the end to fully judge, I just don't like how Shirou's characterized.

The changes that have been listed really don't impose on time constraints. Add context to fights, don't butcher the monologue in episode 9, don't alter scenes to make him look like a goofball or to take away from his character.

Don't put in lines like "I didn't think" when it's not true and directly contradicts an (important imo) aspect of his character.

They waste time in this anime anyway. Showing Saber sleeping for 20 seconds instead of having the monologue about Rin that perfectly explains her to the viewer.

Personally I disliked F/Z's art in comparison to KnK as well. Not as much as this, though. F/Z lacked in the atmosphere department as well, however.
