| I've seen a few good ones. Suteneko Tora-chan and its sequels Tora-chan to Hanayome and Tora-chan no Kankan Mushi are somewhat crude but very cute short films from 1947-1950. Nekojiru-Sou (Cat Soup) is an incredible piece of surrealistic weirdness featuring cats; it is among my favorites in the category of weird anime. In Aria, the gondola companies use blue-eyed cats as mascots, and there is a mysterious but benevolent giant cat who pops up from time to time. Sankarea has a zombie cat. I haven't yet seen Nyanpire, but it is on my ever-growing list of things to watch. It looks like it might be entertaining. Of course, many series have cats that show up on occasion. In Azumanga Daioh, Sakaki loves cats, but they bite her. In the second season of Maria-sama ga Miteru, some of the students like to feed a stray cat called Goronta. If we move on to cat girls or girls who wear cat ears, then there are far too many to list. |
