| AFAIK no one yet since nobody's actually purchased it. I for one just ordered it about 10 minutes ago or so(see the locked General Discussion thread version 2's final pages) and it's still gonna be shipped WAY later since the BD's western release is on March 25(well according to Right Stuf anyway) Some are pirating it but yeah, no analysis for now. |

| The sound quality is pointless if the OST can't be heard. Well for starters the CMs and creditless OP/EDs are counted as part of the runtime It's disappointing but 5 eps of extra scenes was way too good to be true. And from what people are saying the amount of extra scenes are even LESS than F/Z. So the soundtrack has to be part of the runtime |

THat's 78 out of 90. Then we have 3 minute silent scene of RIn walking to the church in EP2. 81 out of 90 Then We have 2 minute scene of Rin marble talk(truncated in such a way that it makes no sense and explains nothing)/ 84 out of 90. THen we have scene of Archer carrying Taiga in Ep12. 85 out of 90 That is roughly 90 minutes of extra content. |

ExTamplierRuss said: the BD is 400 dollars.....yes it is pretty bad to not have extra content at that point. on top of this the new redone subtitles are worst than the TV ver.... you probably should have just blown that money on a hooker or something. to top this off the first half is missing a fair amount of context in the anime that easily could have been fixed with that extra content. at this point though the anime for the most part has just been "lazily acceptable". it's even more upsetting to fans when you consider F/SN has been out for over 10 years and is only at best receiving an "okay" adaptation while F/Z it's prequel/ expansion/extra bonus story got a good adaptation after 5 years. this anime is good...it's just that it can be much better..especially in the shirou department. there is a lot of psychological elements they reduced to bare minimum that it's a little maddening. the anime even went so far as to animate shirou's body language and camera shots that emulate his thought process from the VN but there is no context given to them, in the anime. so now a character that a lot of people found intriguing from the source material is more or less reduced to a generic shounin protag.Is that such a big deal that there is no extra content? |

However to those that have read the VN and understand all of the context behind all of the scenes in greater detail, the adaptation feels like a hollow representation of something much greater. I do feel its an enjoyable adaptation for what it is, but considering the VN had enough content in it to easily fill up that extra 90 minutes worth with meaningful content, to find it out was just the soundtrack is a kick in the balls. It's even more saddening considering the BD release of Fate/Zero was handled with more care. Overall I am very mixed on this whole affair. Judging it as a stand alone show I still think it's pretty damn good, but as an adaptation, it feels like it was mishandled when compared to Fate/Zero. I mean it feels like a kid that got an A+ in the first semester suddenly got a B in the second semester. yeah it's still a good grade, but knowing what he's capable of leaves a tinge of disappointment and its the same thing here. |
