Amazing end to the show. No issues at all. Final performance was done masterfully, and kaori and kosei's relationship was treated with perfection. So god damn good.

I found this anime very enjoyable and entertaining, with exception to the stretched out and convoluted love triangle or attempt of, it was emotional and interesting in terms of animation, characters and storytelling. I still maybe would have preferred less of all the romance drama.

Weird but funny thing I actually just finished this show today, episode 22 on April 22nd... Such an odd coincidence that I didn't even plan for or even think of, it just happened to align that way. What a way to end the show.

I'm trying so hard to hold back my tears. Episode 13 success to made me cry and now this episode too, they expressed everything in this anime really well. I waited April to come to continue this anime and guess it pays my patience more than I expected.

Why japanese make more and more of sad animes where someone important has to die? I think there are too much of this now and too little anime with happy ending life for many years later...
It would be better that thx to his playing and winning she would also win surgery... now we also don't know if he won? but if he stayed in Japan then probably yes
I need to forget about this and find happy ending anime..

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

I wish I had magic glasses that let me see real world in anime colors ;)

That final performance really delivered, even if part of it took place in Kousei's imagination
The ending was sad as expected and it was unfortunate that we didn't get to see Kousei and Kaori actually perform together again
I'm not sure if I love the idea of Kaori being inspired by Kousei as a kid only because it seems like everyone was inspired by him as a kid... Takeshi, Emi, and even Nagi either took up their instrument or took it more seriously because of Kousei and adding Kaori in there makes the story seem slightly contrived

Ngl, I wasn't a huge fan. I love classical styled music so I was game and wasn't the biggest fan of the main female character (can't remember her name). However, the last performance Arima plays was superb. If the whole show was that emotional and powerful it would have been a solid 9.

finally finished rewatchng this. took a good 2 and a half months.

even more beautiful than the first time i watched it more than 2 years ago. the feels are real even though i knew what would happen. hit harder this time around as i wasn't stressed this time wondering what would happen to kaori and after the piano scene i didn't even realise she was gone during my first viewing, i was very very sad and confused. thanks to the confusion i was saved from the depression that time.

this time around i already knew what was gonna happen so no depression but i just feel sad and satisfied after watching this absolute masterpiece of an ending. literally perfect. music, aniamtion, visuals, voice acting, dialogues all were just truly beautiful.

i had forgotten about the picture in the last scene and that just made it hit harder.

i keep thinking how kaori loved him all that time, working hard, getting better, doing all that stuff to be with him and it just makes me incredibly sad that she couldn't be with him forever. she didn't even get to say i love you to him in person, she deserved everything. she did so much, helped arima so much even after suffering herself so much. i think about "what could have been" and it just makes me sad again.

by the way didn't bawl this time around too. maybe because this time around i wasn't watching this alone, can't really get in the crying mood when someone else is beside you, but it still hit in the feels. watched the letter part alone again and got a bit teary-eyed.

the ending alone elivates this anime so much, impossible to not give this a 10/10. when i watched this for the first time i added it to my top 10. even still it surely is in my top 20.

i will watch the OVA now. during my first watch i didn't even know an OVA existed so it will be my first time watching it, wonder what kind of OVA it will be.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

I was crying like a baby by the end. While I do believe that this show isn't perfect, it gets me in my feels every single time and this episode isn't an exception.

This episode finished off the anime perfectly for me, and turned me into a human waterfall in the process, 10/10

God damn, what an ending. I couldn't have asked for better. This show was incredible. One of my favourite anime ever, easily.

The only thing I didn't care for across 22 predominantly tight-knit episodes was Nagi - I get the importance of her character, but her introduction came at a time when Kaori was hospitalised and felt like a distraction from the importance of that rather than a valuable arc in itself. Given a few episodes, her character and bond with her brother and Kousei really flourished, but to begin with, it felt awkward given where it was in the show, and a little contrived.

All else was insane though. The ability to make the predictable surprising, for example. Everyone knew Kaori would die, but the time at which that downturn starts and each event which spurs her death onwards always took the wind out of me. Your Lie in April does a great job provoking feelings of hope, before stripping them away... then restoring them after the melancholy floats away. The characters are beautiful, the scenes involving musical composition never got old or repetitive, the imagery was gorgeous, too.

One of my favourite uses of imagery was the shot of Tsubaki and Kousei talking, Tsubaki desperate to confess feelings of love (vulnerable) and Kousei totally unaware. The shot shows Tsubaki facing out of a sliding doorway into the open air, her body on display for all to see, whereas Kousei is shown through the hazy panel of the door, to show how he is both unaware and unreachable to Tsubaki. The underwater piano sequences, the parallels between Kaori and Kousei's mother, the symbol of the black cat - the imagery is extremely powerful because it works wonderfully in tandem with such a wonderful script. Couldn't recommend this show enough and nearly every episode was breathtaking. 9/10.
