What was the best year of anime so far and why? What are the titles that made the year the best? And what was the worst year and why? | 1997 looks strong: ginga eiyu densetsu finished that year perfect blue (was released in 1998 but was already seen in a 1997 filmfestival) shoujo kakumei utena haven't seen it but nge: end of eva is supposed to be interesting and also from 1997. |

| After carefully analyzing the charts i would say the best year was 2002. Easy. We had Haibane Renmei, the best anime ever made. Two of the best mahou shoujos with Princess Tutu and Full Moon wo Sagashite. .Hack/Sign with one of the best OSTs, the story is kinda bad but as a character study its great. Ghost in the Shell SAC, people say that the anime series is even better than the movies. We had the first moe slice of life show with Azumanga Daioh. And the start of light novel adaptations as a trend with Full Metal Panic!. Naruto, wich is an okey shounen but helped a lot in making anime popular in the west. A year with 2 masterpieces and a year that started some trends, best year. :D The worst year is prob 2000. Looking at the chart i see nothing that i hear people saying is good or anything i would say its good. |

| (Counting titles that aired in more than a year as belonging to all of them) 2003 has Full Moon, Tutu, Texhno, GitS SAC, Planetes, FMA, Kaleido Star, Requiem from the Darkness, The Twelve Kingdoms, Tokyo Godfathers, Kino's Journey 2003 wins. 1995, 2002 and 2007 is runner-ups, probably. |

| I just did. Also, 2000 has Boogiepop phantom, Brigadoon and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust. The first is good, the second and third I've heard is good (but yeah, the year looks blach) |

| In 2006 we had NHK and Ergo proxy that are supposed to be amazing. Death Note is really good. Second season of Aria is good. Black Lagoon was fun. I dont really see much else there. Some really fun titles, tho. Would give it an 7.5/10 :D |

| With Clannad AS, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, Bakemonogatari, and Kara no Kyoukai 7 pt. 2 on the lineup, I'd have to give it to 2009. That year also saw the first season of K-On!, the second season of Spice & Wolf, Phantom Requiem, Toradora, and Kemono no Souja Erin on the airwaves. I could also argue for 2004's dual onslaught of GitS 2nd Gig and Monster. 2013 was pretty stacked in my book too with White Album 2 and Shinsekai Yori as the lead runners. But yeah, I have my annual Top 15 for 2007 and on noted down in my blog for reference. Might include 04, 05, and 06 if I can amass enough completions from each respective year. |

| 2014 why? HxH peaked, and finished in it. Haikyuu was Glorious. Magi: The Kingdom of Magic peaked in it. Kuroko no Basket 2 was in it. (The Zone battle was epic) Nagi no Asukara was fucking lovely, trashes Clannad EZ No Game No Life was revolutionary colorful. Mushishi 2 came back. JoJo came back. and the best part of all. Love Live 2 was in 2014(that was really the deciding factor) |
