Published in december, 25th yet still at the 11th place in the ranking in march. That's some longevity here x) .
The 500k are almost here, around 3 weeks to go, ganbare~

Naruto's LN being as the first and second place is really painful for the eyes though.

I wish it the best of luck in getting on the rankings again next week. It won't be easy.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc).

Great to see these up there. Hope Shokugeki no Souma and Kangoku Gakuen get hefty boosts from the upcoming anime adaptations.

10. *6,596 **6,596 High School DxD DX Vol.1 Limited Edition

Is the Limited Edition being released first then the standard? Otherwise it's fairly low first week sales for a High School DxD volume, even if it is just side stories. Anyway my copy should be shipping at the end of the month along with my other March import goodies.

Lmao at people thinking that assasination classroom got a boost from the anime when the series has been selling close to a million way before the anime even aired. There hasn't been any significant boost so far.

Daym, i had no idea it was selling that well.I guess i didn't pay much attention to it before anime started, cause i thought it was around 200-300k, teehee.Well, i guess i will now know my stuff for future.I'm kind of sad that it's NOT getting boost then.Thanks for info tho, next time i will make sure twice before saying anything, sigh.

When the series older volumes start popping up on the top 50. Then you can say something. You should also look at the long run. I said the series sold between 700k to 1million per volume so you nor I know if vol 13 will even sell that much.

Even if it sells that much or even a little higher it still haven't gotten a significant boost from the anime. Take nanatsu no taizai and tokyo ghoul for eg. Everyone were buying all the volumes to catch up to the Series. I don't see that's happening for assclass.

association classroom live action movie is more hyped or advertised than anime by media so it is hard to call it pure anime boost.

lol no

it got a boost and thats evident long run just means that week and week after it still is selling that has nothing to do with boosts
it shows that based on popularity it grew in fan-base
if u wanna cherrypick things ur deviating from the term "boost"

i get what ur trying to say but this is considered a boost

It has, you just can't see it in Oricon! In shosekiranking Top 500 daily ranking you can easily see that every volume of the title is selling a lot right now, they just don't surpass the 20-30k copies barrier to appear in the Oricon Top 50.

The same thing happened with Akame ga Kill, where a boost was not visible in Oricon , but it ended up selling the double of what was doing before the anime.
People that looked in the shosekiranking were from the start able to see the boost. And the boost is not even compared with the one of Assassination Classroom.

Note that Kuroko no Basket for majority of the time didn't had volumes appearing in the Oricon ranking, and at the time the threshold was 15k not 20-30k as it is right now, and by the end of the 1st year of anime went from 2.5 Million to 8 Million copies sold. Later in other years, it kept doing 8 Million copies even when each volume only sold around 700k, meaning that 5 a year would make ound 3.5 Millions and not 8.

Here the shosekiranking site: http://shosekiranking.blog.fc2.com/blog-category-2.html

Last day recorded(3/10) Assassination Classroom made:
vol. 13 -> 2nd place
vol. 12 -> 69th place
vol. 1 -> 99th
vol. 11 -> 114th
vol. 2 -> 115th
vol. 9 -> 128th
vol. 4 -> 130th
vol. 3 -> 132nd
vol. 10 -> 136th
vol. 8 -> 139th
vol. 5 -> 146th
vol. 7 -> 147th
vol. 6 -> 155th

Has an example of a title without any boost we have One Piece:
vol. 76 -> 126th
vol. 75 -> 341th

and Shokugeki no Soma:
vol. 11 -> 4th
vol. 10 -> 377th
vol. 9 -> 490th

"Significant" is totally different than "Huge"!
What Haikyuu!!, Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, Tokyo Ghoul, ... had is considered huge boost not just significant! Significant means that it is visible and that makes a difference! Not that the previous volumes appear in the Top 50 of the Oricon.

A lot of people started buying the previous volumes of the series, so it is a significant boost.

One Piece in 2011 released 4 volumes, from volume 61 to 64. Other than the 2 previous last year volumes no other volume in that year ever appeared in the Oricon weekly top list, though volume 1 sold 545,045 copies that year and the sum of all previous volumes(excluding volume 60 and 59) sold 24,320,884, this is in average 419,326 copies per volume.
This is basically a fanbase increase of 420k readers. Though you couldn't see it in the Oricon, do you know why? Because the Oricon only counts the 50 top sellers of the week of thousands of manga in the market!
Volume 1 of One Piece sold in average 10.5k copies per week! It was the best of the old volumes of the title 5 to 10k copies from entering the top(I will assume that is around 51 to 200 position in the shosekiranking daily).

So I ask you, do you count One Piece 2011 boost as a not significant one? Seriously?

Lmao at people thinking that assasination classroom got a boost from the anime when the series has been selling close to a million way before the anime even aired. There hasn't been any significant boost so far.
this is how the boost works

*3. *,254,704 *,254,704 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Vol.12 first week

now its selling 400k+ first week

get it?

@keragamming
You are right in saying that it didn't get much of a boost from the anime, as the weekly sales clearly indicate little to no change after the anime started airing. However, comparing 1st week sales of Vol.13 to cumulative sales of previous volumes which sold over 1 million, is not a good comparison.

@Moodie
That's a poor comparison, considering Vol.13 was on sale for 5 days, and Vol.12 for 2 days in their 1st weeks. It is obvious it wouldn't sell 400K+ in the 1st week, if it was on sale for a comparable number of days.

Here are the first 2 weeks for the last 5 volumes, and the weekly sales from Vol.12's 1st week to now. It is hard to tell if it got a boost, since the last comparable volume is Vol.8. It did sell more than Vol.8 though, despite being on sale for 1 less day, but that was quite awhile ago.

The weekly sales is more telling though, as its weekly sales seem to not vary much ever since the anime started airing. Only the pre-air jump from Dec 22~28 week to Dec 29~Jan 4 week shows a big boost in weekly sales. This week Vol.1 to 12 sold a combined 105,838 so there wasn't much of a boost there either, assuming the Character Book sales are included in that weekly figure since it isn't a spin-off series like with Tokyo Ghoul. The anime is certainly keeping it afloat, but whether it is getting a significant boost from the anime? It doesn't look like it right now...

Happy to see this on the list. Can someone provide the statistics of previous volumes sales for World Trigger? I'd like to know how much it increased.

No other noticeable differences other than that, compared to the past seasons where a lot manga got huge boost from respective anime.

Yes, considering Dengeki Bunko's list for March, that's going to be difficult.~
Yes Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come will take pole position

OreGairu, as a Gagaga release, won't be out until the 18th, so that's the week after.

Next week's data will have Dengeki Bunko (which have 6 days to rack up sales) and an unusually strong lineup from GA Bunko - although their tendency to release two versions of just about every volume of any series that might sell well could work against them.

As for what will be top next week, I think Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index 12 is top candidate.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc).

*this is the Cobalt Bunko version, which came out back in 2010. I have no previous sales data for it.

The boost is more likely because of the live action movie.
