Inspired by the confession thread. So basically, do you want an honest answer or nah

Honest of course, hurts the most but it's better in the long run.

I'd rather have someone tell me that they simply don't feel the same way towards me rather than making up some stupid excuse.

I'd like them to laugh and make fun of me. That, at the very least, would mean they respect me enough to not hide anything from me.

It's difficult and somewhat disrespectful when you know they are lying.

The best answer is to thank them for the compliment and make clear that you are not interested in a relationship, in the most respectful manner possible.

Honesty is the best Policy. Stop beating around the bush and tell me if I have a chance or not. I don't want to cling onto the hope that one day I can be with you.

Pffft, fuck daaaaaaaaat.

'No' is enough. There's no need to think of something longer and more convoluted.

I wouldn't admit to loving someone until we had been in a relationship for a while. Putting that much pressure on anyone could not only end up hurting yourself, but ruining an otherwise good friendship.

Probably something honest, easy and straight to the point. No round-abouts, no leeways, no excuses, no apologies. Just a "Look, I'm not that interested in you."
I don't need anything more, I've never confessed to anyone but when I do - I don't expect an answer or a result, it's just a fact. It's just a statement, I don't really expect it to go anywhere.

They say thanks but they're not interested in a relationship at the moment.

It's pretty obvious if someone is into you, or not. Usually shit just happens and a relationship happens if the two people are feeling each other. Love confessions are for middle school kids.

Otherwise just let it be, and move on if you don't want to be friends.

Too scary~
Can't confess shit.

I think the best rejection is to say yes, and as I turn around and walk away she'd shoot me in the head.

That they just tell me straight up that they don't like me back. Neither letting me down easy nor being a complete bitch about it.

Being let down easy is just insulting, and if they get all snarky and act like they're too good for me I'll just resent them. If it's just a "No, sorry I don't like you like that" then it makes things easy and further contact with them wont be awkward or contentious.

Because I'd rather not hear anything at all. If I remember a rejection it makes me feel worse than if she heard me and gave me the second choice of forcing her wrath upon me, or choosing to forget about it. It's kinda like the "Are you sure you wish to release this Pokemon" prompt.

I honestly would want her to say what she feels about me. It happened once to me and because of that I used and to move on and it gave me the feeling of being rejected which boosted my self esteem

I'd prefer a straight, honest answer. The truth may hurt, but I'd rather have that than being led around to believe I have a shot.

The one where they are clearly tempted and distraught, but shout they'll never join me in evil and lash out against me so I can do the evil laugh and disappear in a cloud of bats while proclaiming that the next time we meet, they won't be so lucky.
I really love those situations.
