| Looks like Kyon got the most from the makeover, looks out of place and weird, maybe I'm just used to the old one, but still I guess it kinda makes sense that they all look younger/smooth(for lack of a better word) since this is going to be a romance anime. |

Except Kyon, his head isn't as round in the manga. |

The thing is...it's a spin-off...and the character did change since it's an alternate timeline(probably since I didn't read the LN/manga). |

| the designs don't look that bad. then again, i'm so used to the original kyoani designs that it's going to take me a while to get used to it. oh well. let's just be grateful for what we have. besides, more nagato = life |

The girls are fine, the guys are fine for the most part too but kyon... If he retains his sarcastic personality from the original show then I'll be somewhat okay with this. Edit: I decided to go through a bit of the manga for this and I guess I can't blame the studio for Kyon's design because that indeed how he looks in the manga sadly. |

| They aren't so bad, but it sure is goingf to take a while to get used to these new designs seeing as I'm so used to the Kyoani designs. Kyon's in particular looks so different to the Kyoani version that it's somewhat jarring. Oh well, it's an alternate universe and a different studio so I can live with it. |
| I heard that Kyon looks exactly like this in the manga spinoff so these are accurate accurate designs from the spinoff. |

| I think most of them look fine, but I don't remember Kyon having such a round face in the spin-off series... Sorry to burst your bubble, but he's transformed into the "kind" and "thoughtful" kind of guy in this one. This will not be the Kyon we all know and love, which is for shame. The spin-off is great for a series by itself, but it's very different from the original work. |

I get what you're saying but, no, don't give out inaccurate info, they are both written Nagaru Tanigawa and both use Noizi Ito's characters. This is however a spin off of the alternate universe that was in fact in the movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. But it's taking place from scratch as if we know nothing of the original series. So the personalities are different. That has nothing to do with the terrible art, thanks to an artist change and we have an fairly inexperienced director whose only done episodes here and there. I foresee constant cliche repetitive jokes that aren't funny or cute with chibi caricatures thrown everywhere. What made the Haruhi series good was the clever writing and consistent art. Watch the Haruhi-chan shorts to get an idea of what this will probably be like art wise. I loved the way Yuki was in The Disappearance. That's what a lot of people wanted, the same quality production with the new story. Instead they moe it up and turn it into a really cheesy comedy, with terribly cliche personality traits and a generic premise. I'm not looking forward to it, but hopefully it surprises us all. |

It was both written and illustrated by somebody named Puyo. This guy is right. As far as I know, Nagaru Tanigawa has nothing to do with the story and the direction of the manga. I personally can't wait for this to come out. The manga is so warm and great to read. |
| anyone who complaining about the char design just know that kyoani design isn't even the REAL design the REAL design is the light novels so any studio has the right to adapt it how they see it |

| Only ryoko looks good, lol. Seeing the original voice cast gives me hope though, if this goes well maybe the long awaited 3rd season could... Not sure if I would want it with these designs however :/ |
