As usual, the manga and the anime adaptation of Go Nagai are completely different. The middle part was somewhat similar to the OVA, but lets say, this one was a bit more coherent and the narrative was easier to understand (or might say it made sense). The third part of the manga however was just nuts, went full sci-fi with battles across time and space. It was an amusing read, and while the OVA was in the so-bad-it's-good camp, the manga was somewhat better, since they did explain most of the things (which doesn't make it that good, but hey, at least they tried making sense). Overall it was pretty fun. And of course, it had the typical unfinished Go Nagai ending, but at least this one is more satisfying than Cutie Honey and Cinderella Knight. |

Despite being set in historical times, it has machine guns/lasers/robots/atomic reactors with no real explaination. What on earth is this description |
