| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Nice detective story we've got here with a fitting soundtrack. To those who read the manga: Clues... Clues everywhere. My thoughts on the episode: - All these rich Victorian people are so gorgeous. I just love their clothes and accessories *-* - What else would be in Sebastian's closet but cats? Haha :D - Finny is still my favourite though, he's so just cute and emotional. - The moment when millions of fangirls cried out in pain: |

| "Double Charles" sudden appearance. Queen wanting him to hold party because she was not happy with last arc's result. Ciel and Sabby's French. Murder happens and Ciel is suspicious just because he's alone sleeping. He had to sleep with the author, which was the main target of partying. Sabby's weird action when being attacked, and being killed next day... Tanaka's position is back. Then third person. The author is in charge to investigate because he cannot kill in these 3 cases. The 3 servants' feelings. Is Jeremy guy that appeared at the end Sabby (it's true that his voice sounds like OnoD, though)? Cannot wait for next ep. |

| That was certainly nice. I somehow had massive Ciel (and Finny) feels while watching it. And i don't really know what else to say but i want to see second part asap XD |

I wouldn't say that it's a copy of anything but it's true that this arc borrows many ideas from older detective stories. Why Agatha Christie? Poe wrote similar detective stories way before her, so following your logic, Agatha Christie copied him? For example, Poe's "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" already had a seemingly impossible murder in a locked room and the resolution is quite similar to that of Book of Murder. Even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (author of the Sherlock Holmes stories) was influenced by Poe; not to mention that Doyle later influenced Agatha Christie as well. In literature we can't really talk about copying but intertextuality. |

Those cats are so cute though. I'm have to say, I'm surprised at how faithful this was to the manga, though still a little sad they took some things out, there were other scenes I wanted to see animated. | I've been waiting for this for so long! even though i know what happens since I've read the manga it will be fun seeing what people come up for guesses for the mystery. also this arc is the most we see of Tanaka so we can get some character out of him since they always had him as background character that didn't do anything. I do hope they keep making more black butler anime series since they can do 2 more seasons with what's done in the manga |

| Cool. This felt like Detective Conan actually, which is why I liked it. Really great to hear so many seiyuu, like Kimura Ryohei and Maeno Tomoaki. Obviously, Sebastian isn't dead. He has some kind of grand plan to solve the mystery. Even Ciel knows, since he whispered something while fake crying. |

| This was pretty interesting tbh. I was kinda surprised that even Sebastian became a victim in the early going. The mystery fiction felt thrilling with good comedy and suspense overall. Definitely impressed with this first episode and direction. Going to watch second episode later but so far so good! |

| These Sherlock Holmes references are off the chain. Of course Arthur is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle... which is why he is intrigued by Bartitsu and writes it down excitedly - Bartitsu is Holmes' preferred martial art. And "Jeremy Rathbone" is an amalgamation of Jeremy Brett and Basil Rathbone, both well known for playing Sherlock Holmes (though he looks like Jeremy Brett more than anything). |

| It's like Umineko again, indeed... Well, only weaker. But still enjoyable. Eh, but that Jeremy's voice is too obvious... They could have at least change his seiyuu, doesn't even suit his elder age. |

| that first part was really good !!! The new characters are just as interesting as the ones in Book of circus were. Well , it's a pity that there are only 2 parts and not a full - series , also the fact that there isn't an opening or an ending ! |

| I am impressed with the story and the animation quality. This is my first time to see any of the Black Butler anime and it appears to be a good watch. I will have to take a further immersion into the series after finishing up this murder.....9/10 |

| Well that was really awesome! I love a good murder mystery and especially locked room ones!!! I like the new characters including Arthur. I can't believe how much Ciel slapped about Sebastian when he found him dead, that was so mean! All those cats jumping out of Sebastian's closet made me laugh so much! pure Sebastian, he does love the kitty cats, hence my sig on here lol. Of course Sebastian can't be dead otherwise the show and manga would be lol. So it was kinda pointless knowing they can't do that to him really. Well, it's obvious in the dub by the voice alone who Jeremy is! lol. |

| Things that gave me the feels: - How cute is Arthur though? - Sebastian and Ciel slagging off Siemens in French so noone could hear :') - Arthur commenting on how cute Ciel is and Sebastian agreeing - Grey being calm, collected and relatively badass and then turning into the biggest baby and clinging onto Ciel - Tanaka - General Phantomhive servant feels were persistent through the entire episode <3 -Jeremy Rathbone...I recognise those eyes I think... Looking forward to catching up with the rest of the world and watching part 2! |
