| It felt like another CG, except less high school setting and more modern flashy-shiny. It had weaker characters though, which is impressive. |

| Yes, the show is awful. The main protagonist is some know-it-all 16 year old who somehow manages to outsmart the military in every single fight despite having zero experience operating a mech. Every single character outside of the MC, his rival, and their love interest princess serve literally no purpose to the story. The MC is unable to show any emotion (except he WAS able to smile during the first episode of Season 2). It's full of asspulls, terrible CGI, and plot convenience. I'm almost certain this show is supposed to be satire. |

| Pros: -Animation -Music -Hype from first season to see how they'll pull a second one Cons: -Protagonist is the only person using his brain in the whole anime, soldiers don't even have one -Low character development (at least on the first season, but you can consider it a pro if you watch it mostly for the action) Neutral: -Plot (not non-existing, yet nothing too complicated) |

My point is he is somehow able to do things that others with years more experience cannot. The exercises his school shows him are nowhere near what he was doing in actual fights. Every single fight is brimmed with plot convenience to the point where a variable as small as a 1 MPH change in wind speed has some huge outcome on the battle. Enjoying a show with mindless action is fine. But when I see people claiming that this show is the second coming I cannot help but call them out on it. It is full of flaws and it knows that.
