Man this was a real great watch, first time watching something thats a sequel of something I watched before using myanimelist.

I love the similarities that this episode had with the first episode of the first season. The feel of this anime is still the same and I really dig that.

Felt so nostalgic seeing all these characters again and hearing the uniquely awesome ost.

Looking forward to watching this weekly, really enjoyable. I forgot how godly the cast is in this one ohoho

lol at miyuki door

Three more seasons because it needed three more seasons.

DURARARARARA HYPE!!!

Well crap... I don't think I remember half of the characters from the OP to be honest... that's so sad... unless some are new XD...

Poor Celty being chased around by that cop once again XD.

That murderer sure is a weird one...

Holy crap... they were talking about the anime/manga where Onii-sama is God Almighty... among other famous series XD...

Sekushi Celty trying to seduce Shinra :3 and then his dad appears with his new mother... well stepmother XD...

LOL, using 1 million yen to buy Shinra some new glasses and something to eat XD.

Nice episode to start this 2nd season with.

Three more seasons because it needed three more seasons.

Because there is more source material and the first season was successful (and great imo)

Feel the need to rewatch season 1. Pretty much forgot half the whole season and this opening made me realise that with all the characters. I remember being so hyped about this series but I forgot what I was hyped for.

The atmosphere for season 2 still seems the same so that's good.

And what is with all the references. Did drrr get paid to advertise? and then the mahouka....

Still like season 1's OPs better but who knows, this one will probably eventually grown on me.

Finally~
The first episode was great! As expected from Durarara
It's a little sad how Mikado is reminiscing his memories with Kida.
Overall, I loved the episode.

Very disappointed. What a mess, just obnoxious with no narrative rhythm, inconstant animation and drowned in bad unfunny comedic elements. This is not what I was expecting or ever wanted from this of all sequels as a first episode having loved the first season...

I'm more of a Baccano guy but I'm pleased to see this make a return.

Mostly a reintroduction episode though, but I'll always love more Celty screentime.

You do realize that the current score is only based on 24 users' scores? It will surely change quite a bit once MAL gathers the power to update it.

Haha I never get tired of the references, especially since I now know most of them and can find them. All those LNs Erika and Yumacchi were talking about~ Hm as for the first episode itself, it's what I was expecting, I enjoy it a lot in a few scenes, and some other scenes I don't particularly care for. Overall still pretty fun though since we got to see all the characters again.

I don't have the Crunchyroll premium so I have not seen this. Will episode 1 be free once they release the other episodes?

If not, is there anywhere else I can watch this?

Get it from Nyaa and choose Horriblesubs, which is the release group for crunchyroll subs. there are usually better sub groups.

This is how I feel too. The pacing was SUPER jerky and event seem really... unrelated to each other. But its more or less the way the novel was written, and its just an introductinary episode, so stay tuned.

Godamnit, as usual, so much references XD
Mahouka, Toaru Majitsu, Oreimo, SAO and Black Bullet were mentioned~ Basically some of the famous light novels. Heck, there's even Toradora, Majitsu Index and Shakugan no Shana novels at the van's trunk.

I remembered they referenced Taiga from Toradora in season 1

Such a great transition to season 2. I finished rewatching season 1 today and the way it flows into the premiere of S2 was just perfect. Durarara is back.

YAY! It's back. Can't wait to see Shizuo in action.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

That was actually very freaking bad. I thought first episodes were supposed to stand out. New characters seem out of place. OP and ED were also disappointing.

So much anime references... oh the good old Durarara is back!

I am looking forward to what this season brings... and of course I am really interested to the girls who will be involved with the Heiwajima brothers, Akane and Ruri the most part.

Looks like the Aoba guy and the Orihara twins will have a but more of a role soon.

I really like the OP. The song is great and they kept to its usual theme which I really love. I like the fact that they're introducing the characters like usual, especially since its been a while. And the fact that they (kinda) did a quick run through of how things ended in the first season, like they usually do, helped refresh my memory. It's nice to see that they didn't change a lot dispite the gap between the first season and the second.
I'm just really happy to see Izaya again (´。✪ω✪。`)
I'm glad too see all the usually characters too, and other characters that didnt get much light during s1. I still need a proper dose Maosaomi though (。◕ฺˇε ˇ◕ฺ。)

Can't wait to see what happens !

All hail the return of the most glorious show on earth!
Great OP and ED's though don't think I like them as much as the originals, though thats often how it tends to work due to nostalgia. They'll grow on me I expect.
Man! I forgot how heavy the references can be! Love it!

Was never a big fan of this series so I might had just forgotten but were there THIS many characters? Anyways Shizuo's little brother's apparently girlfriend looks cute.

Ah man, what a great day for Durarara!! It was so refreshing to see all the characters and the city again, and it felt just as new as it did 2 years ago... (In real life, though, it felt like everything was working against me trying to watch the episode. But I digress...)

OP was fantastic.
Also correct me if I heard it wrong, but did I hear Kadota say that he liked the light novel "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute"?

Also is it me, or does the artwork look even more like Suzuhito Yasuda's work despite him having left the team? Whatever the case, I dig it.

Not much to say regarding the plot though. Too early to tell. I do wish the episode focused more on one particular character though. Each episode of the first season, especially early on, told the story from the perspective an eyes of a different character. But this one seems to just be going over everyone. I didn't notice any particular character it was showing the perspective of.

Also, were those Izaya's sisters that Masomi was with at the end of the episode?

There were plenty of characters always but this season is introducing some new ones.
But don't worry; if its like the first season then it'll take the time to tell you who they are and give you time to get to know them.

Jeez, I'll obviously have to rewatch season 1.

I love this show (well, Durarara) and not recognizing so many characters was kind of embarrassing.

Not much screen time for either Izaya or Shizuo but there's time :)

A decent opening of the season.
