I was really fine with putting up with some of the plot progression. I think most of us can agree that Five's story arch was kind of a waste of time considering the limited episode number they had to work with. She was, in essence, a cardboard cutout that was used as a plot device to move the story in a very focused direction. These sort of things, alongside the fact that NOBODY would be killed in the terrorist attacks is what I am attempting to point out.

However, where this show made up was with it's message, and numerous literary devices, to the point where I could forgive this somewhat messy plot at certain points. The numerous questions that show asked about reasons to fight, how to discover ourselves, and how to find "home" (just to scratch the surface) stemmed from the notion of subtlety in the hints dropped throughout the script. This is not to be confused with lazy script writing. While it's very easy for people to say this conclusion was drawn from the hypnosis of the directing and beautiful soundtrack, I found something more substantive with the writing and characters. Any thoughts?

'Kay, so I'm in the other minority. The writing wasn't the strongest point - the atmosphere was. The elegant directing, suspense and soundtrack made it a great watch.

But I did like the literary devices and messages. It just wasn't the thing that made me give it a high score.
