Literally the title.
I saw the DEENIME but I don't remember how I got into that. I saw this picture

I died, and then Mira 0.2 was created. Clicked the view page button and I found out about Fate!

Beat me to it.

OT: I heard about F/Z from someone. When I decided to finally watch it I realized the existence of DEENight, I read that the order to watch should be DEENight > UBW movie > F/Z.

So yeah. I did that. Then I heard about the VN and that there's something called Heaven's Feel so I read the VN.

I was seeing images of Saber being boss everywhere around the internet, and the name "Fate/stay Night" intrigued me. So I tried watching DEENime but the first episode was so boring I stopped right away. It was around 2008 I think.
I didn't try to go any further than that, so I still had no fucking idea what Fate/ even was.

Four years later I hear about Fate/Zero : watch reviews praising the shit out of it, look around for a bit and find out that it's part of a gigantic franchise which started with a VN called Fate/Stay Night.
Start reading the VN and watching F/Z at the same time. Finished /0 first. Regret nothing.

I first watched Tsukihime anime, then got into Tsukihime VN. Then I guess I moved onto F/SN VN right afterwards.

So basically Mirror Moon was my Jesus.

i began with the deenanime, i watch 2 episode(blu-ray quality yeah), i thought it was meeh... the hero is not cool, the fight are boring, bad animation, everything looks cheap in this story

then i heard it was an eroge and i was like: what ?! is it a harem wait what ? no it seems there 0.1% of sex scenes in it. wtf...

i downloaded it, it stayed in my compute for maybe 2-3 years ? i completed the prologue and the three first day if i remember correctly until lancer fight

and that was all for me lol cause i thought there would be more choice and more animation

i stopped but still it was quite intriguing for me

then my friend bought the fate manga

i read it

and i was like:... it's like the anime it's meeeh... no i think it's worse, well no i don't know... it's different i thought it was the second route...

then fate/zero came out, it looked cool lol
my friend who was a type moon fan was hyped and was always talking about it

so i decided to take a watch

AND BAM

Why? They did great work translating both VNs.

I was going through my first wave of anime after I began watching, and saw Gigguk's review of Fate/Zero where he said it's one of the best anime in years.

The show looked pretty, so I gave it a go.

They are similar, so they are basically the same.

But if you really want to know, though I've answered that in the other threads already, I watched Tsukihime over ten years ago, because I like watching anime and pick out those that come out and are subbed every season, watch the first episodes and if I like it, I'll finish it. FSN was in 2007, when the VN wasn't even translated yet.

Actually now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was Botato hyping the hell out of the anime that made me decided to give the VN a look. I'd heard of it else where but I never really looked into it until then.

That's quite the unusual way to get into the franchise.

Now if we're talking about Type Moon as a whole my first exposure was through the KnK movies (watched the first and second one a long time ago, but I had no idea it was connected to Fate/ verse).

I was bored, literally just trying to find something to kill time.

Randomly chose to watch Fate/Zero, no idea what it was about. Was impressed, really enjoyed it.

Looked online, saw it was a prequel to a VN called F/SN, with a terrible anime you shouldn't watch.

Decided to read the VN on trust built by F/Z alone.

Wasn't disappointed, didn't regret it. Good series.

Manga using the Random button on a manga-reading site when i was bored
found the premise interesting, read all that was translated (48 chapters), and actually didn't really hate it iirc, and then forgot about it.
Later when i got into more (25+) manga (F/SN was my 4th manga after conan, Naruto and one piece), i remembered it as a shitty manga when UBW was announced, and decided to not watch it/ignore it.
However i remembered some Awesome x-over Fanfics i read, and then decided to ask people about it first, and then i decided to give Fate another Chance.

It's good that i did :D

Of course it was.

I was the only active DN/TM fanboy in that thread.

I take it you never touched DEENight then? Good.

Hmm, again, not what you watched first. HOW you got into the Fate/franchise. What made you want to see it? Did you see a picture like me? Was it cos hype? Did a friend suggest it? I don't want to know what order you watched things...-_-

Saw screen shots on a certain image board and became interested after seeing discussions of Archer and the term GAR. After some google fu I found the DEENnight and watched it. Admittedly it was kind of meh.

Around 2011 I found out about VN's and a friend recommended FSN. Having had my past experience with the anime motivation was a major problem. Anyway, after some additional prodding I caved and read it. Tada!!!

Didn't you read what I wrote? I had the habit to watch every anime that is subbed every season or start an anime that is already finished and watch the first episodes. If I like the story or direction, I'll finish the series. FSN was just a series I didn't drop. I don't do this anymore, because I don't have the time anymore, but I used to do this.

A friend showed me DEENight's Archer vs Berserker fight on Youtube.
Being mesmerized by the battle itself, UBW chant and EMIYA, I decided to see whole anime.
From other friend I heard that the source material is Visual Novel - a kind of medium I wasn't familiar with at that time. So I decided to read it.

Aaand that's how Nasuverse became #1 setting for me.

Well, I had just lost my wife when I noticed I had received strange markings on my hand. I was then asked to work with the head of the Tohsaka family for a mysterious war that my father was overseeing.

The rest was history.

Well actually the question was HOW you got into the Fate franchise... so shouldn't it be when you were conceived?

I think it was sometime around 2008 when I stumbled across a random picture of Saber in a cool anime wallpaper I found on deviantArt, so I looked to see if she was actually from some anime I could watch. Found Fate/stay night 2006, watched it, liked it. Discovered that it was based on a VN. Never read a VN before but I was interested in learning more backstory to it, so I started reading it. Watched the UBW movie that came out in 2010, then Fate/Zero came out, and so on and so forth. Just been following it ever since.

From Tsukihime weirdly enough.
My mind was blown so hard by it, i had to read/watch everything the writer wrote!
I was not disappointed!

I was so hooked in, even Deen FSN couldn't kill what i felt for this franchise!

for me i watched deen, i liked the start and the final episode mostly, then i heard about the NV, read it in 2 weeks, and my hobby of reading light novels/visual novels began(and began to abandon anime in general, unless original content)

p.s. did they remove the awaken archers thread?
