You ever reach that moment in an anime you're watching where it just becomes painful to watch? You know, there's a stupidly predictable situation that's playing out EXACTLY as you thought it would and you already know the end result before it's ever shown?

That's pretty much the case with me and Maison Ikkoku right now. Before Maison Ikkoku, it was WataMote. What about you guys? What are some moments in anime you're watching where it actually makes you cringe because it's too painful to watch?

Yep, pretty much every comedy/harem show has predictable situations, some people like it, some people don't. I can't think of many shows from other genres that are as predictable though.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, Sword Art Online and Akame ga Kill have all been painful to watch. But I've got a morbid curiousity with how bad some popular shows can get so I soldier on.

Yeah I have had experiences like that with No Game No Life, Sky Crawlers and recently with Zetsuen No Tempest. The predictability thing though is with NGNL not the other anime I have listed.

At least half of the anime I watched become painful to watch at some point. Some from the first episode, others from the half of the series.

Whenever this happens, I just play the eps in VLC at 2x - 3x speed. :P
And skip OPs and EDs, and possible recaps.. and next ep. preview and stuff. ^^

It was kinda hard in the beginning to get used to speed, but after a while, 3x is nothing. XD Hehehehe

Yep. Happens to me for a lot of romcoms. So far: Sakurasou, Inou Battle, Nisekoi to some extent and Kimi ni Todoke S2 (the pacing was pretty annoying).

Lol you always know from the first episode in a harem who he is going to pick. I mean it is always the same kind of girl.. And she is always one dimensional as fuck. And than everybody gets good development except her and he ends up with her.. Yeah right that's why I am not watching harems anymore, what's the point of that plus stupid fanservice. Meh.. Not for me.

i just watched kaichou wa maid sama and the comedy in that was pretty cringey, but mostly it was just painfully boring, which is way worse. id rather watch something extremely bad than just something moderately bad.

Best idea ever :have a rom-com where both the main leads are painfully badly written ,unfunny to the extreme and where they repeat the same stale jokes over and over.Yeah that sounds really good.

That happened to me with Demon King Daimao. I'm pretty dense (incredibly so), so I don't usually end up figuring out plot points, even really predictable ones, that easily.

Anyway, Demon King Daimao is my least favorite anime, simply because I can say that I was dumb enough to watch it (so I can't judge Boku no Pico or Kodomo no Jikan because I absolutely refuse to watch them, since I already know the premise of both). I feel like WataMote was meant to make you cringe, what with all of the spaghetti that flies out of your screen when you watch it, so that's a little different than an anime that doesn't try to give you pain when you watch it. Like Demon King Daimao.

Seriously, I hate that anime XD

Unpopular opinion but the Jo Jo series both season is just horrible and cringe worthy. I don't even score anime hard but this series is not even average. I have a theory that people that praise the Jo Jo series are doing the same thing like people saying inferno cop is 10/10. I'm positive that's the case.

It gets painful to watch for me when they start to force romance, romance that was never meant to happen and they just make it real to please the fanboys. Example; Captain Earth. It was creepy.

Mahouka. We all know nothing can scratch onii-sama. Just seeing him beating a bunch of cannon fodder is painful as hell.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Only time I actively get annoyed at an anime is when a scene or 'moment' drags on too long, and to a lesser extent characters that are indecisive - which means practically every MC irritates me to some extent.

I never understand why people complain about cliches or obvious plots, though. It's like complaining about the good guys always winning - the few well known movies that bucked that trend absolutely sucked beyond reason. I don't watch this because I can't see where it's going, I watch it to enjoy the trip.
