This episode director, Toshiyuki Tsuru, is a masterful cinematographer! I don't know if they had a higher budget, or if they gave him free reign over what to do, but he needs to direct more episodes, films, and series!

I was amazed at some of the directional decisions with the lighting, the camera angles, and the choice of animation.

Such as at 16:22 with the camera slowly creeping behind Rin with the beautiful abstract painting shown in the background. It's quite a morbid, yet, breathtaking shot. Reminds me of great scenes from the anime Monster and Ghost in the Shell: Innocence.

Umm. Wow! That episode was like watching a different anime. It was completely different. The animation even looked a little different. Just the angles and scenes played out. Great episode! Tense! Wish the whole anime was this way.

The episode director of this episode, Toshiyuki Tsuru, directed Gungrave. We may get more of this genius direction in that series!

Oh I see! Yes that makes sense. I have seen Gungrave. This episode had that mafia feel to it. It's weird because it's so different than the rest of the episodes. Next episode and so on was like back to normal lol.

Did he direct episode 20? It felt very similar. Another great episode.
