You're all dismissed!" 5/5 ep! Loved Luffy's willpower in this ep ^.^ Stilts Ossan finally had his reunion with his grandson! >>> Ussop: "It's not a compliment!" Now, off to a new voyage! |

| God, the Foxy Pirates were lame. I'm freaking glad Luffy didn't pick one of them. In any case, I guess that ends the worst arc so far. And, considering, how GREAT the series has been I guess it was due. I also think this is the first time I've actually been glad that they rushed to the end. |

| I'll agree with the lot of you, didn't really enjoy this arc all that much. It looked fun with the events, but everything just dragged on. None of the characters in it were all that interesting. And that horse, Cherie, had probably the worst voice possible. That may be stretching it, but it annoyed me a bit. ;P |

| I didn't like this chapter at all... it was boring and tedious, and I didn't like the way they keep dragging the games at all.. the only part I thought it was funny was when luffy appeared with the Afro, besides that I couldn't wait for the episodes to finish. Finally is over!! It disappointed me because I liked all the episodes so far... even the fillers! |

| "One does not question the afro" I think its good that Luffy didnt choose a shipwright. If you think about it the foxy pirates are all made up from different crews. Being able to leave your nakama and join another crew isnt a type of person Luffy would want or need, none of the strawhats could do that and without Luffy had no reason to be pirates. |

| I actually liked the this arc, it wasn't a sprawling epic like Skypiea or a setup like Jaya it was more of a fun breather which is always great and makes epic stuff seem more epic. |

| First two rounds were good. The rest were average to terrible. This would've been much better had they not extended it and kept it to just 3 rounds. |

| I really like when the crowd changes who they’re cheering for in anime, or in life in general. It’s exciting. Foxy changed it up. He was a useless weird dude and he relied on cheating. It’s not like this changed too much but he ended up getting far better tricks before showing off never before seen smarts and used his power to incredible use like with the megaton punch. Moreover, he kept up with Luffy’s punching speed for a few seconds! Luffy has gatling gun arms, that’s crazy. This isn’t a criticism, it just felt slightly contrived to see him turn into such a good final boss at the end here. The mirror move to reflect the slow beam both reminded me of Yuyu Hakusho, as did it end the fight absolutely satisfyingly. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! That was an incredible ending for a lackluster fight an arc. A powerful way to end it. It inspired me to watch the Bellamy punch once more. I think it would have been far more moving if the fight and opponent weren’t predictable jokes though. Luffy shouting that he’ll give his life for his friends and getting up time and time again loses its punch when the enemy is a 1D weak comic relief guy. Imagine if Luffy called him split head over and over, the fight would have been done from the beginning. The grandson showing up was something I predicted as soon as we cut to the scene where they delivered him the sail. It was a contrived way to end this overly contrived episode paired with the Foxy level up for the final boss, the perfect number of pirates for the final joke, and the perfectly convenient grandson returning for the final happy ending. This is easily forgivable coming from a gag arc, but nonetheless it could have been better. The convenient number of pirates is nitpicking I admit. The throwback to when Luffy first painted the Straw Hats flag was hysterical. This would have been better if not for the amazing filler before it. Because of that the manga would have done this better. We needed a break after the overly serious Skypiea that went on too long, but this was two filler-esque arcs back to back and that was too much. However, it was still fun and the final moments of the fight were pretty great. This mini Foxy arc was also an interesting way to store a log pose. It wasn’t them exploring an island while trying to wait out the log pose storing the next directions, it was them playing a game without it even on their mind. It sure passed my mind! Fun, but undeniably one of the weakest parts of the story. |
| If you only watched this arc 1 episode per day, it wouldn't feel too dragging.😝 I was actually amused of the jokes it had! But I gotta say, it's not my favorite arc. 🤦 |

| The Davy Back Fight's finally done and over with and I'll admit that I had a bit of fun with it despite wanting it to end as soon as possible. It's funny that Luffy actually recruited them and kicked them out instantly but they can brag about having a crew that's over 500 men at one point now~ Good to see that Tonjit's reunited with his grandson now. It's off to repair the Going Merry! |

But it actually is 70% filler in the anime, not to mention that they changed a lot of things, like Luffy choosing Sherry over Chopper (the main reason I dropped the arc in the anime and went to read it instead) and the end of the arc with the old man, as well. Don't know how they managed to butcher it in the anime. This is the first time I stopped watching an arc just to read it and then come back to the anime. |
