Overall I really enjoyed both seasons, it has adventure, humor, nice battle scenes... but the ending was rushed

I wish Fredrica could have been a bit more useful, she gets owned every time.

Niva switching sides because "she has personality" could have been much better if
given more time. Also, a shame for a gun "with personality: to be stuck in a glass cabinet for all eternity

So the Chaika in the OP in pure white and looking happy is from the final scene. So did she lose her memory or not? And her "losing the will to live" in the beginning of the episode wasn't resolved either.

Overall, really enjoyed it but could have used an extra episode or two....

Wow so much happened.
I loved that kick on black Chaika. I think it was the best Red Chaika's moment in the series.
The contract was amazing and Toru looked really cool.
I was very sad when I thaught Chaika had died but that was short lived :p
I'm not sure these are the finals moments I were expecting and it kindda looked like there could be a 3rd season but not sure.
I'm happy with this anime and it was hella fun to watch. :)

Thank god there's an OVA. 10 episode wasn't enough but despite being fast-paced it never felt rushed to me. Maybe because I didn't read the novels? I guess I'll need to read them.

7/10 for the 1st season and an 8/10 for this one.

Not to add to this broken record of a thread, but it was certainly a bit rushed. Even just an extra 10 minutes of time for the last episode would've fix this most likely, but ah well. Loved both seasons, but I look more highly on the first only because it had a much more solid ending.

7/10 for the season only cause of the rushed end. Barring that, 8/10 for sure!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO why did Toru stop being a saboteur D: That's way cooler than some lame dragon knight.

Hmm a happy end? That doesn't seem right. How much of her memory did Chaika lose with that final attack?

Anyway. Still don't like that it was so short. The story was cool and with a studio like Bones the animation was great(as expected from the beginning of the first season).

The ending didn't completely please me and I thought overall the first season was better, but still a really great series overall. 7/10 for this season and 8/10 for the first.

It looks like deus ex machina to me.
The light novel is still ongoing.

Did they really follow the light novel for the ending?
It looks like it was all anime exclusive to me.

Man, a lot left to the imagination here. Fortunately the show did a wonderful job throughout and in the last several episodes building on a lot of things that happened here, like Toru's decision coming after Chaika declares she has nothing to live for, Shin and Gaz acknowledging Toru's resolve and the path he'd taken, and Chaika getting her resolve back after seeing Toru's. All that was fine honestly because it had proper build up and was shown in a way viewers could figure out, but when you look at the developments with Niva just happening and Gaz seemingly accepting the blast, this really could have used at least one more episode.

Though I feel like the memory thing may have been left to our imagination either way. Of course, I think clarification would be better because it provides a better resolution in how we see the group's dynamic playing out from here on. Still a little disappointed in Vivi and Red Chaika's lack of resolution, but at least they touched on it. Hopefully the OVA gives us a little more closure, but all in all this was a very fun ride.

This episode makes me think this should have been an 12- episode season.

It's a shame, I still enjoyed it though.

It felt a bit rushed, but overall it was an ok ending.
It was about time for Toru to make a contract with Frederica.

This series became a large portion of my life this year. I've seen every episode at least twice, with the exception of this one, and it is a really well written, and thought out show. But I REALLY REALLY wish that Chaika's epilogue was a bit longer...they could have cut back on some of the Gillette epilogue so that she could have proper closure.

But that's what happens when your show is bombing in sales, and you only have 10 episodes to wrap everything up. If the OVA is set after the anime's ending, then all will be forgiven. Because it needed a bit more closure.

However the final episode was pretty awesome! Lots of action, Chaika being awesome, and her final line about giving her father a funeral, was pretty epic in its own way.

I'm going to miss this show, which has quickly become one of my favorite anime. But this season was more rushed than the first season, so I'm going to have to give it a 9/10 as opposed to the 9.5/10 I gave its predecessor.

Hyped for the OVA now!

Well, that was one underwhelming conclusion to this series. Very much at a loss of words with all the wasted potential...

Bit rushed but left it as a 9/10 hoping the OVA wraps it up correctly.

Nice final battles, it went by so fast but enjoyable over all. A glimpse of action here, a bit of drama there, and a perfect ending scene. From all this we can conclude that the gang lived happily afterwards.

Here's my tribute to No. 357

P.S. Red Chaika is really adorable, would make a perfect tsundere character. I hope we get some fan service of her in the OVA. :p

(EDIT: We do get to see some fan service after all https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05rvorAl33o )

I want this last one as my wallpaper:

Not bad but I wasn't expecting an ending like that it was like onepunchman- lots of build up but ended so suddenly. If anything I was overwhelmed by how situation turned 180. Anyway can anyone please confirm whether the ending was anime original or it followed the LN. If I am not mistaken the LN seems to be still ongoing.

I wish they would've included that in the conclusion. It would've made everything perfect and Chaika gets to pick a new name.

Ln hasn't ended yet so we don't know. It will end in like a week or so. Previously, they said it will be similar ending if not the same but now I really don't know - anime changed many things from the LN, nothing THAT major but I guess ending will be a bit different. As for the anime I really enjoyed it. White chaika is super adorable and now when I realized I don't have any reason to look forward to Wednesdays I feel kinda empty inside. The ending was fitting, I couldn't think of better alternative. Obviously Chaika lost her memories, notice that her speech returned to normal - she said arigato instead of kansha. Shame that this season was so short & had small budget but overall it was an enjoyable ride. ^^

Everyone has already said this - but it felt rushed to me. I wish they'd had more episodes to work with, because so much happened in the last two episodes. It was epic, but it all happened so quickly that I feel like it didn't have quite the same impact. Also, I was hoping for more closure with Chaika and Toru. I want to know if she remembers him, though I'm inclined to think she's started from square one with her memories...

Wish there was more than just an OVA coming. :P

Well even if it was a bit rushed, I'm glad that at least we have the final of this series ... it not remained incomplete as other transpositions of novels ...
For all that you gave me, Chaika, I give you a 9-deserved !

God save our gracious Chaika,

Long live our noble Chaika,

God save the Chaikas !

ps: Maybe I'm wrong ... but they could have made a final a bit rushed to push people to buy the novel to find out more details and a final more elaborate ...
What do you think about the planetarium? That beautiful twinkling of eternity that will never fade, no matter when....

That was a bit too easy. I expected Gaz to be more surprised that his weapon left him LOL. They could have made it sad by having Chaika forget all her memories with Toru.

Way too rushed IMO. This episode was a 7. Overall it's a 8.5 for me.

I don't know anything about the manga. Does it go further on? Can we expect more anime?

welp, assuming bones were only allowed to work with 10 eps, this is acceptable i suppose. lost of loose ends still left untied... but hopefully the ova can cover some of that.
8/10, really enjoyable, same as last season.

They should have made 12 episodes this season...

I say 7.5/10.

Toru looked so bad ass after making a contract with Fredrica! He even killed Shin (which was a little anticlimactic but still very pleasing). A little sad that Chaika had to use her memories to kill Gaz but I'm glad that he's gone as well.

7/10 for the whole series. While it was a good ending it was... A little anticlimactic. Definitely could've used two more episodes to make things wrap up a little more nicely. Still a great series though, and very underrated.

I'll give the series overall a 7. I found it enjoyable for the most part.

My favorite part of the finale was seeing Red Chaika kick Black Chaika in the face!

I was a little worried that when Gaz died it would make all of the Chaikas die, but as others have pointed out, his second death wiped out their false memories.

That felt like it ended so fast, would be better maybe if it had like 12 episodes. It was still good tho. First one of the season that I finished. I'm gonna miss this adventurous show.

Toru finally became a dragoon knight. Fredrica got owned quickly again haha

Left some unanswered questions about how things where left off but now that bad

Same score as the first for me. Wasn't all too intrigued witht he show from start to finish. Making this season even shorter and rushed didn't do it justice either. 5/10.

I'm kind of in the same boat with everyone who felt the final arc was painfully rushed. I would have preferred them to do 12 episodes and finish on a better note.

With that said, I still enjoyed the whole series. I wished it could go on for 12 more episodes. I'm hoping the OVA will better conclude the story.

After this finale, I must say that I am highly disappointed. The first season was a solid 8/10, but this...

This barely gets a 5/10 from me. It was too rushed, the story was incoherent at times, and that ending was one of those short, rushed, everything way too convenient, throw it all between two pieces of bread and JAM it together into one big sloppy I could have done better but I didn't want to try sandwiches.
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. However, if you are interested in intelligent discourse, feel free to message me.

Definitely as good as the first season, not dissapointed at all.
With a kiss between Tooru and Chaika my score would have been 10/10, sadly, it didn't happen. Can't wait for the OVA.

And now it's over. I'm kind of sad though because I really enjoyed both seasons of this anime. I think that season 1 was a bit better, but this season was still decent.

The ending felt just as anticlimatic as I was expecting it to be, which is fine. I didn't expect them to be able to pull off an amazing ending with only one episode left.

They didn't really explain what happened to Chaika, but from what I've read in this thread, it seems that she lost her implanted memories from being a Chaika.

I wasn't expecting Gaz to be taken out like that though. Niva proved to be the ultimate troll in the end. It also wasn't very surprising that he didn't show any emotion when he was taken out. I don't think that it would have fit his character very well if he did.

Overall, I'd give this season a 7.5/10. I'm rounding it up to an 8 for my list though.

What the hell just happened. Just. Okay? Is that really it?

Jeez. Made my score go from a 10 to a 7. Would make it lower but I still liked the first part of this season.

Rushed as fuck.

Haters gonna hate~~

It was rushed, but I didn't mind, I still liked this anime, both seasons too!
Except yeah, this season was shorter......10 episodes only? :O

Anyways......this was a cool ending, I mean, Chaika shooting the crap out of her "father", and then Red Chaika kicking the living shit out of Black Chaika? LOL! That was pretty funny......and brutal lol.

But I mean, this was a nice anime series, really enjoyed the characters, the action, the magic! It was all pretty decent and well worth the watch.
So can't wait for the OVA's, I heard it's gonna be a swimsuit type episode? White Chaika in a swimsuit? Yes please~! :D

OH! But.....so did White Chaika lose her memory? Or.......
