| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What a back story for Arakita. He's still my favorite character from Hakone Academy. He needs to calm down a bit though at times as I think that rage could be his downfall. Really like his determination this episode though. Gotta ride that baby and make that into reality. |

| Oh yea they were able to pass Machimiya and his group. Interesting that he broke up with his girlfriend to focus more on the race. That was good flashback. |

| Awesome ep :D Lot's of Bros everywhere XD Arakita's just so awesome. Loved his backstory. It even made me respect Fukutomi a bit more with how he said he's second so Arakita can be first. Respect there. Miya admitting defeat was really props worthy. Dude's really cool. Dem manly tears T^T Did they really give up the race now though? They won't catch up to Midousuji? |

| Well, we get some flashback scenes coming from season 1 and added material. Arakita sure worked hard to be where he is now. Lol, Toudou not believing that Arakita asked him: > "What's with the weird head band? Talk about lame." Barion-Zara said: Miya admitting defeat was really props worthy. That was an emotional end for them :/ The post credits. Oh Ibitani. |

| That extended Arakita backstory was awesome! Loved how Fukutomi practically lead him to become a top racer. Their comradeship pretty much became a brotherhood over time. (^^) Didn't expect such a creep like Machimiya to admit defeat and even admire Arakita! Them tears though.. Much respect for him there. > "Arakita, sorry. I hope you'll buy me that Bepsi." T_T I want to see this once the race is over! Awesome episode! That post credit though.. Ibitani's admiration for Machimiya is on a different level. XD |

| good flashback. what separates the winners and losers is that they cast away all thoughts and feelings that do not contribute to their success. the past, the worries, are all gone; the only thing left is the hunger to win. this is what is necessary to compete amongst champions. |

| Really liked how Arakita's flashback tied into the battle with Machimiya. Machimiya was just tied up with the past. He needed to let go in order to move forward. I can't believe that Machimiya actually admitted defeat though. It's a nice change of pace though cuz if he would've made it all the way to the end with the aces it would've been the same as with Midousuji. So I'm glad they kept this battle mostly between Arakita and Machimiya. |

| I like the whole "willpower is everything!!!" cliche, but it's getting too overused in yowapedal lately... Kinda bogus how Arakita surpassed Machimiya by having a flashback. And as much as I like Arakita, I would've liked to see more of Machimiya's flashbacks as he trained with his team. The ships are so real in this ep. Fuku x Arakita, Ibitani x Machimiya. Don't even try to deny it ok |

Now we know why he is the way that he is. And we also know the reason for why he got rid of that ridiculous hair cut. I have a feeling that this isn't the end for Hiroshima though. You can't just build up that Midousuji/Machimiya partnership and let it die like that. Haha |
| This episode made me really like Arakita! Definitely nice to learn more about Arakita, how he did as a baseball player. The reasons he went to Hakone and above all, his reasons to ride a bike! Experiencing the impossible happening, really nice to see it again. Shinkai approaching Arakita, Toudou looks really small. Arakita's first race and with him lying on the floor. His first win with Fukutomi assisting him, all those monologues while racing and that push by Fukutomi was really amazing! Arakita to be able to keep acceleration and managing to beat Hiroshima! The tears shed by Hiroshima and was pretty impacting too. How they admitted that they lost... |

| THIRD YEARS OMG!! the tears are real. this episode was fabulous. Arakita is definitely my fave. aHHH and I like Machimiya sooo much better now. the ending of the episode was so good. it definitely hit me in the feels. Arakitaaaa... i love that they're giving his back story. I wonder what'll happen once Arakita and company catch up to the aces... |

| MIYA! This is the type of episode I adore. Season 1 had a lot of episodes like this and it was gold. One thing I really like about YowaPeda is that all the characters are so different and they aren't even good looking (I never expected to like a long haired green guy tbh) but they're so likable. shippos said: I LOVE ARAKITA SO MUCH OMFG |

| This is a flashback episode. This is Arakita's flashback episode. gg 5/5 Yowapeda isn't so much a sports anime as it is an excuse for character studies (while on a bike). I am OK with this. Keep up the good work you bicycling bicycles chuu. |

| I thought more people would like the flashback. Makes me feel more attached to the characters. Arakita's a pretty awesome dude haha. I like how they had a few scenes with Bepsi, then they had a scene where Cole was thrown on the ground LOL I like Bepsi > Cole too. When Michimiya took off his helmet, let go of his handlebars, and spat out a few cool lines lmao. This show is so exaggerated xD |
