Tenka didn't die for "nothing". He obviously knew Sora was the Orochi vessel that's why he probably volunteered to be the artificial Orochi and sacrifice himself to protect his brother. That's why he was going on with the stuff about one side destroying the Orochi vessel, and another protecting it. That's why he left the Yaimanu to be with his family to "protect" the real vessel.

Botan and Shirasu both knew who the real vessel was too but just that Botan didn't know Shirasu was on the the side with the Orochi, hence plot twist.

Tenka is great and all, but I don't think he knew who the real Orochi was. Had he known its Soramaru, he would've taken better/more targeted measures to handle the situation rather than just entrusting things to Shirasu/Botan and letting the police execute him that easily.

As to why he was on about protecting the vessel rather than killing it, I think its simply because of his philosophy of not spilling innocent blood and his depth of vision. Its been implied before that Tenka has a greater vision than most people (inspiring Sosei, & Sasaki personally/being the head of Yamainu, Sora said in an episode the big bro world must be huge etc etc), and it simply seems like he didn't agree to the primitive rinse n repeat method of executing a poor person, rather than going deep down to eliminate the source of evil.

I expected Soromaru to be the Orochi vessel, aaah what would he do now, and when he actually realizes Tenka's death was in vain!

What the fuck did just happen oO

I mean I had a feeling Soramaru is the vessel from the start but that disappeared after Tenka was declared to be the vessel.

Though the most confusing is Shirasu's reveal. And here I thought we might get a fateful reunite between Botan and that guy with only one arm(who is most likely some kind of reincarnation of Hirari). Looks like she'll die though.

SOOOO much happened in this episode I can't even figure out what's going on. Soramaru is the vessel??? Is the Orochi going to pass through the entire Kumoh family by the end of the series?! AND SHIRASU???? WTF WAS THAT POST-CREDITS SCENE???

This show... this fucking show... and with Chutaro being taken in by that one Gokumonjo escapee with the shark teeth... this series is going to have a really tragic ending, I know it.

This show is a bit too convenient for my taste.. I feel that this show has gone downhill with this episode. Tenka's death was all for nothing? COME. ON.

Chuutaro is a retard. He's doing the Sasuke thing, but at least he is a kid and he can blame on that. Why is no one really giving a serious fuck why he is gone though? I mean if my little brother would disappear in a forest that I know from experience has a lot of bad guys in it, I would do something about it?! I wouldn't sit on my sorry ass doing nothing but training "...to protect everyone" (<- didn't see that one coming...)..

I WAS NOT EVEN REMOTELY PREPARED FOR WHAT HAPPENED HERE.

I literally spent the entire episode thinking about who the Orochi could be. Shirasu? Kagami?
Then I saw the white hair. Shirasu?? Nishiki?
Then I saw that it was a man. SHIRASU!?
And it's fucking Soramaru!

God, the things that must be going though his poor head. Chuutarou's busy fucking around with Kagami, and Shirasu is searing for him... but like. What. Do the police know about Soramaru? And what's happening at the prison? I didn't think I'd be so invested in this series. It's interesting!

... Wait, there's a scene after the credits? OH GOD WHAT.
Okay, so this scene kind of makes me feel like the pacing is a bit off in this series. Still good, but WHAT. Shirasu, I trusted you!

ok so between the parts where soramaru was like "oh if tenka was the orochi then how come it's still raining and everything" to the part where they showed clips of the orochi attacking takamine, i had figured that soramaru was the true vessel of the orochi, so it was no surprise when this was revealed.

what really shocked me was shirasu oh my god

at the beginning of the anime i has suspected that botan might be the one who would turn against everyone else but then she grew on me and i was like "she probably wont be the evil character since she's really just a familiar sent to seal the orochi" and ???? i just accepted that shirasu was here to protect everyone and just be a good person in general bUT THAT PLOT TWIST CHANGED EVERYTHING I DIED WHEN IT WAS REVEALED THAT HE WANTED THE OROCHI TO RISE AGAIN HEL P ME

Dang, I thought things were starting to get better...but now Chuutaro has been brainwashed to work with Kagami, and Soramaru is now a vessel for the Orochi!!! O.O And since the Orochi feeds off of negative feelings, he's pretty much a goner at this point????

HOLD THE F ON, TENKA WAS AN ARTIFICAL OROCHI.... so he died a pointless death (outside of doing it for some orochi research to protect the vessel apparently)..
Even more it was Soramaru after all who was the actual vessel and why the hell did Shirasu attack botan in the after credits scene. This episode really throwing a lot of plottwists at us.
