If i hate it, i will only complete it if it is short (less than 12 episodes), otherwise i will drop it. But i rarely find anything that makes me force myself to watch till the end. All while hoping that it gets better maybe but that never happens.

When i drop something, i just don't rate it, end of story.

The answer is called skipping over parts you don't like in an anime.

Mindless banter that doesn't relate to story -> Skip

Random stuff that you find boring -> Skip

Stuff you don't like -> Skip

Skip to final episode, watch ending, complain, then post low score and rant.

^ Rinse & Repeat.

TL DR
If all else fails just skip the whole thing and complain about how bad it was without ever seeing it.

Hell no. I'm not going to waste time on garbage I don't like, when there's so much else out there I could be watching and liking more.

I really only do it if my friends really enjoyed an anime, and I didn't feel like being an ass and telling them I only watched a little bit of it. It kind of sucks, but I do it anyway, unless it's something that I find particularly intolerable.

For airing stuff? Yeah sometimes. Having to bear trough that shit once a weak is tolerable ,but marathoning shit? Hell no. And I dont watch 2 non airing anime at the same time. If I stop watching it I just drop it, no on hold for me.

From a logical standpoint it's not optimal, why waste time right? At the beginning I used to do that with series till 24 ep. Now I just research hard what I want to watch so I rarely drop sth cause it tends to be at least somehow enjoyable. But in rare exceptions like Mahouka I drop that boring shit now, waste of time....

I don't drop anime, but it's not because I want to say that I've finished it, it's because I have to finish it....once I start a show, I have to see it through to the end.

I don't watch anime for the completion, but the enjoyment. In the past I did finish what I started, but as of recently Ive been content with dropping anime whenever I feel like it. (this is due to being more busy now) If I feel its not worth anymore I'll drop it, its as simple as that. Though I will give the anime benefit of the doubt.

If it's too long, no.

I don't think a sense of overall enjoyment from one show is worth sacrificing elements that you enjoy from another show even if the overall product is not to your liking. It is rare that I find something that either isn't of interest to me or is simply irredeemably bad.

Completion plays a part, of course but that likely stems from my gaming hobby. I like being able to wrap up a series. At times I will not drop something because I think it has the potential to work, even if it never meets that potential ultimately. I'm still curious to see if this is the case regardless. There might be a single character that I like that provides me with a desire to see where and how they wind up.

To say "I finished it" isn't a reason for me to watch something. I have a tendency to finish what I start, but if there's nothing I see any value in (not just enjoyment), I'll drop it in a heartbeat. If there is, I'll just skim though and pay attention only to the parts I'm interested in.

I drop things pretty fast, I rarely put it on my dropped list unless I am making a statement. I watch things for enjoyment, why do some people treat it like a job? If you don't enjoy it, drop it. Simple.

That bit of time might be in vain, so you better throw more time at it so that it can all be in vain. You were right about it not being logical :P

Happening with me right now. Watching TTGL just because it is so popular. You can tell how much I dislike it, 3 episodes to finish and I just can't stand it any longer. There is absolutely no logic, anything goes here. You wanna do the impossible, oh wait, you have fucking fighting spirit, just smash through everything and do the impossible.
I'm at the point where I couldn't care less. The second part is just fucked up. This is what happens when you mix a shounen with something like Darker Than Black - shit happens.
Well, I'll watch the 3 episodes because I was stupid enough to not drop it earlier.

Sorry TTGL fans if it hurt you, but I just don't have the fighting spirit to enjoy it.

Do you watch everything that is popular even when you obviously won't like it? Great approach to entertainment I have to say.

Probably because people usually get curious by popularity of a show and wants to check out what all the talking is about?

Well, sometimes you watch the really popular stuff, because people keep recommending those, so one starts to think that there has to be some merit to them. Happened to me with Clannad, wich I ended up not liking, but it was recommended with such ferocity, that I gave it a chance, because obviously a lot of people think it's the best stuff ever.

That said, I relatively seldom drop things, because I usually can tell if I will like something or not. There are still surprises, though, and those are very welcome exceptions^^

I don't care about saying finishing anything I dislike or like, but will finish anime series if I've come to dislike if I find it important - I felt I should place it properly where I think it belongs or revise the concepts behind the 4 to 2 ratings to other series I'd given similar scores.

'all the talking' should give them at least a vague impression of what the show is about, which is my point. Anyone having logic and realism as the ultimate criteria who still decide to watch TTGL which appeals to the exact opposite of the spectrum frankly deserves every minute of their self-inflected suffering when they force themselves to watch it just because it's popular.
It's like a heterosexual guy checking out a popular gay porn video just because it's highly rated, and then complaining that it doesn't appeal to him. Naturally the high rating doesn't change the obviously advertised nature of the content.
I probably regret this post by now.

Yes. I won't drop any anime, I'm watching them until the end. Although it can be quite tiring, e.g. Terra Formars is sooo bad and I almost played with the thought of dropping it...but no. I'm gonna endure it until the end ;_;

Normally I watch just to see how bad it really is. Or, who knows, might be a surprise or something not so bad as I was expecting to be. But in my scale, anything that is not a 1-3 is, at very least, worth watching.

Yes, I did finish SAO after dropping it only so I can sometimes participate in discussions about it or to just understand why it is so hated/loved.

...Though it didn't turned out the way I thought - I kinda liked it, in a way. I mean I still dislike it, but it is pretty enjoyable and not a trash/garbage/piece of shit like some say.

If it goes bad right-off-the-bat, then I drop it.

Well, I didn't know it was devoid of logic. I just read some reviews saying how great and badass this anime is and the rating/popularity was also high. I started watching it and though it was not exactly my taste, I still didn't hate it at all in the beginning. I would say till kamina episodes were cool. Then it lost logic.
