The close friendship between those two was nice to see. The theory ginko uses to explain the connection between conciousness was actually build on quantum physics so I was kind of surprised to find such an scientific term mixed in in this story.

This girl has some serious issues, borderline yandere....

In other episodes, completely innocent people have had terrible effects on their lives from Mushi. In this episode this girls flaunts it and disrespects Mushi and gets away with it. I feel like there should have been more consequences for it. A better ending would have been, when they were looking for her in the fog, they found just the boat floating in the canal.

The subconscious theory was very nice to hear. So they learned to use it carefully while still keeping a bond, nice. Not a weak episode by any angle. In-fact the theme in this was something I was able to relate with strongly. Don't get the lower ratings. Guess not everyone has had connections like these. Some things are more meaningful when you actually experience them/have a somewhat similar experience (i am in the latter)

This was one of the weakest Mushishi episodes IMO, the previous three were amazing so it kinda balances out I guess heh.

There is just no words for the beauty of this episode. The representation of the effects of that mushi through the whole scenario and the canals was brilliant. Yet, so simple, and so poignant this episode.

Why did the dad seem so opposed to them being friends? Because his daughter liked Sumi so much? Did separating them help her? It seemed like it just made her worse. Wasn't crazy about this one but it was alright.

And that's why getting attached to people is bad, be careful. Beautiful episode, even though I didn't like the girl.

Episode that gives beautiful emotions, narration as usual gives us the gift of good and precious messages; and makes sure that you remain involved in the events told. Ginko this time acts as a spectator only halfway. Drawings and OSTs, valid for the umpteenth time.

In the end, that bitch did not learn her lesson -_____-

I usually love all Mushishi episodes, but I agree with errbody that this is one of the lower tier ones .-.

quite laid back episode this time round won't lie, nice change of pace from the dimension breaking or world shifting mushis we've been seeing recently

Why do they both still use the power? Those girls are both so dumb.

Sumi and Yura were voiced by mother and daughter, Sumi Shimamoto and Shiori Koshikawa. It made me think the episode was a metaphor for gaining independence from one's parents and the feeling of "beings swept out to the sea" when it happens. Yura had been too attached, so in order not to ignore others, they had to be apart and sever even that mental connection. Yet it's always possible for Yura to visit her caretaker, even if they can't constantly be together. This very much suggests a parental relationship.

The episode felt a little dissapointing and forgettable because the location they were in just felt wasted, the village foggy rivers really was such a mysterious and interesting thing but the plot for it couldve been better

On the same opinion of most that this was probably one of the more weaker if not weakest episode of the series, albeit somewhat interesting to see it take on the idea of codependency and subconscious channeling.

Not much happening this episode but I still can relate to the feeling of being dependent on someone. Yeah, that's a heavy burden to hold...

A boring slow lesbo themed episode, maybe one of weakest episodes of the entire season, if not the entire series.
Me every time I hear the word "reparations": 🤣🤣🤣

That ended sweetly. She just wanted her friend. I cried at this one, how lonely she felt. Ginko just being his logical self.

Loved the canal-village vibe of the episode, and finally, we get to see a not-so-sad conclusion
