W00t? Is there still hope for this anime?

Compared to the other eps, I liked this one. Hayami's outfit looked great and I really liked when she and Yui met at Hayami's burnt down house. Looks like the power Otoha granted Hirose will disappear soon and he'll go blind again. Should get interesting.

definitely one of the best episode so far. I like the fact that Kohinata family actually was quite evil, lol. also, I agree with cyruz - things can get really interesting if Hirose won't see anything again. I would love a bad end. :)

I agree. That wasn't too bad at all. The reason why the village hates Hayami's family didn't turn out stupid. I guess we'll see a transition from this to an explantion of Otoha and perhaps some stuff about Hirose.

I get the feeling something bad will happen later because if everyone likes Kohinata then where's the conflict. We finally know what her family did. I also can't wait to see what happens when Hirose looses his eye sight again.

This was actually less annoying... mmm... I guess next episode we'll see blind Hirose again. Or at least I hope.

I find it funny how they buy new clothes but they seem to forget their old clothes in the shop or something like that. xD Since they're not carrying them around.

That's what I was thinking.

Anyhow, I still think Hinata changed tracks way too fast. All of a sudden she can stand up to her grandpa and her peers just because Hirose insisted to her that there was no monster across the bridge?

So. We finally know what really happened with Hayami and the villagers. I agree that it wasn't her fault but I guess that is what people do. It's human nature to hate people who hurt them even their children. Great episode. :D

Am I the only person who thinks it was a really weak excuse? Totally lame. They all treat her like absolute crap for such a trivial issue (something her grandparents/parents did) even after taking it all away from her.

Unless there's something more to the issue, the village deserves to be firebombed.

Everyone befriends (or at least accepts) Hayami, so now a new "enemy" is needed.
I guess it will be Hinatas uncle and the other high animals of the village with their feudal and strict way of thinking, that does not respect Hayami to be accepted.

Well.. kill them all higurashi way would be my opinion. D:

Something tels me that this newfound happy vibe this show is giving now won't last long...still can't wait to see the old man's reaction to his granddaughter befriending the 'roach'.

^lmao. I agree there's no excuse, but it was a better "reason" than her family being poor as many had thought previously.

Hmm.. but how much time does Hirose have left? tick tock..

It was a better episode, however, did any of you catch that high level animation of her falling down the hill? LOL! Oh my god, LOL! I guess they thought 2 frames for an action shot was enough!! Mybe their budget's tight? To much ink used for the super-distorted eyes and foreheads?

I agree, even though this reason was a bit different then what I was thinking before, it still fell short of being justified in my opinion. If their family was so bad, the villagers could have just found someone else to act as their doctor or just banish the family from the village all together (either choice would be the same as if they killed them anyway). There was really no reason to kill the whole family and treat Hayami like shit for the rest of her life lol. The people in this village are crazy.

O well, I still cant wait to see what happens to Hirose. Thats about the only thing I'm looking forward to now.

Hayami's hair is so cute in ribbons. ;-;

And the reason everyone hates her is not as much fail as previously thought. That's good.
...Even though it's still fail.

First let me say to the non-believers...EAT IT DOUCHEBAGS!

The hatred for the Kohinata family has been justified now. The typical sins of the older generation being paid by the current generation has been seen before, Satoko of Higurashi ringing any bells? Looks like my assumption of the different social casts was somewhat right, the shoe was just on the other foot so to speak. Maybe Yui's family being more well-off was due to the fall of the Kohinata house?

Otoha's not so cryptic message has foreshadowed what was inevitable to begin with, that being Hirose's blindness resurfacing probably in episode 7 or 8.

Hinata's sudden change of heart last episode doesn't feel "rushed" at all now. She in fact had all of those feelings inside her all along, but just didn't have someone who will push her to act on those feelings (aka someone hell bent on having his harem). Hayami is also someone who seems to be willing to carry the burden of her family's sins (no matter how unfair it looks), hence why I believe she understood why Hinata acted the way she did.

H2O now feels somewhat similar to Higurashi, minus the whole Oyashiro-sama thing. We even have Keiichi character who is capable of bringing a fresh breathe of air into the village.

It looks like my hope for this show hasn't gone for naught. Now let's see if H2O can build some momentum from this episode.

I still say there is just no way a dude can have such hair/face/body/breasts like that...

I hardly think it's very Higurashi-like at all. Satoko wasn't treated -that- badly. Just shunned. If there were actual abuse it'd be more in line with Higurashi's story anyway, but it pulled it off a lot better than H2O has so far.

True and then very true. I'm still a bit dissapointed though, but the fact it was the opposite (The kohinata family actually being rich not poor and all that) kind of helps.

I really liked the episode, but damn hirose needs to stop being such a pussy already, I'm sorry. I'm expecting him to stand up and say something to some of these people, but he lets them walk up to a girl and kick somthing at her? He's more of a woman then hinata. Very annoying main character.

Hirose's uncle is very odd...

I find it bullshit that the entire village is hating on Hayami because of what her parent/grandparents did. The reason for why they hated isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it is still nonetheless stupid.

We get the reason on why the Konihita family is hated but it still doesn't justify the shit Hayami went through.

At least Hinata's annoyance passed. She doesn't have a reason to hate on Hayami but does it anyway so she could be a good little girl for the Kagura family which pissed me off. Even though Yui actually causes more shit than Hinata, she at least has reasons to do so.

Overall, a good episode. It redeemed itself slightly for me.

2. what happened to the love triangle that just existed an episode ago. it completely disappeared...
3. is it possible for hirose to ever say enough is enough to the bullying....
4. why am i number listing things...
5. at least the story got slightly better

now we know the story.. and i don't know why most of you can't accept it?
i see it as a good reson for hating someones family..
it might be not fair for hayami.. but let's face it.. most ppl have no brains to see that..
you know .. like "she has the same gens"
any how.. i'm really glad that the reson wasn't stuped XD

Iono...I thought this was the worst episode so far...its good to see that the Kohinata family was evil as it adds a bit of a twist...but then it went to the bubble gum story writing that we've seen from many other better anime just without the fun.

This anime has a serious one step foward two steps back problem.

Wow. Im totally surprised, can there really be hope for this anime? Or is it all just an illusion? Either way, its actually getting quite good. Why, however, could they have not had the whole anime good. It would have been quite simple, all they had to do was make sure everything made sense and presented it in a viable manner. I hope im not getting my hopes up too high.

Onto next episode~

as much as i hate this series, that was actually a pretty interesting episode, and i have come to love Hayami to the point where i feel like i have to see this atrocity through to the end now. i dont care at all about Hirose, he can go the fuck blind again. i'm in it just for Hayami at this point.

edit: the uncle's latent wincest homosexuality has become almost intolerable at this point.

i love how this series turns out :)

at last we know why Yui's so mean with Kohinata...but this is plain stupid...this is simmilar to Higurashi, when everybody hated Satoko&Satoshi because of what their parents did :,this is such a stupid reason to hate somebody...

nevertheless,i loved this episode ^^,5/5

Definitely improving. Very much liked this episode.

Obviously a situation like this doesn't actually make sense since there's no way the villagers would have hated Hayami this much after ruining her life despite her uninvolvement in the matter. Also lots of other plot flaws and such but I'll just go with the flow of the anime.

Hope they don't keep putting off the main chars impending blindness till the very end of the series and bring it in earlier.

I just noticed in this ep that the silhouette in the H2O 'logo' in the Opening song changes every episode, and corresponds to the episode (character) name. This time, the H2O logo was accompanied by a silhouette of Yui.

I found this episode to be more enjoyable. I just hope Hinata doesn't betray Hayami again.

Some people can say the hate for the Kohinata family is justified. Still gives them no right to take out all their anger on the innocent daughter. Hating someone for what their parents did is stupid.

More backstory, guess the power struggle was real back then. Sad Hayami took the brunt of everything her parents did. After the mountain encounter, looks like "class beauty" somewhat made up with Hayami.

I think you and everyone else doesn't understand how important family ties are in Japan. The whole hating the child for the mistakes of the parents/family troupe is seen in a lot of anime. To western audiences it may sound stupid, but in older Japanese cultures, this sort of thing is common. While it may be less common in modern Japan, the setting for this story is country town that is far detached from the bigger cities and modern life, where traditions from the past are still practiced.

My issue is how long it took for this information to come out. Logically he should have been able to learn about this much earlier than the half way point of the freaking series. From the cultural perspective, I have no problems with the contents of the reveal, it just doesn't make sense how long it took to come out. I was honestly expecting it to be dragged on even longer.

I guess all that's left now is Hirose's blindness coming back, the cause of Hinata's little sister's death, and what is really going on with Otoha and the who "chosen one" business.

The reason behind the villagers hatred for the Kohinata is finally explained. The family were wealthy and owned hospitals in the village that had medical expenses too high for the villagers to afford. However, given how Hayami wasn't involved with the business or finances of the family, there's no excuse for Yui having her minions beat her up and pour toilet water on her. Even burning the Kohinata's house down and isolating Hayami from her family isn't exactly the most reasonable course of action you could take.
