Good episode.

Even kids having tough in this episode with nowhere safe. I like how they portray on most parts Leon's character and his goals. Then again, almost no one can be trusted in this series especially with powerful artifacts . On another note, I like the battle was done between Leon and that Horror.

All the feels again. I feel bad for that kid now but it can't be helped.

Nice to see Leon developing bit by bit.

Damn, what an episode, might be my favorite episode of the season so far.

Art/Animation: Same as usual, somewhat odd artstyle but works and I love the look of the horror as usual as well(SO METAL).

Music: A lot of atmospheric music this time around and it worked great, gave a real thrilling vibe throughout. Voice acting was very well done as well.

Story/Characters:
Not so much for development but it did flesh out Leon a bit, much needed because I felt he was the weakest character of the show so far. Alois was clearly a mirror of Leon, a thirst for revenge. Not too much to it but the entire episode had an overarching theme of superstition and what it can lead to and the fact that there is no real way to end it at all.

This also ties back to why Leon's mother was killed in the first place, she was a witch, witches are viewed as cursed or cause curses and so they kill them in horrible ways because it's supposed to mean something when really the "ritual" or "ceremony" are really just a weird way of blaming someone for the bad things that happened in your life. This is why Alois was crying when the horror was killed, he wanted revenge just like the rest of the villagers and now he couldn't get it. The final scene which showcased the villagers still relying on that superstition to make themselves feel better was the cherry on top, it just never ends.

Very well done, remarkably so even. This series deserves far more respect than it is getting.

Only real thing that worries me is I hope the series doesn't go the route of monster of the week. It's fine if they include an overarching theme in each episode but it kinda screws with the pacing. Won't call it a real criticism though unless it confirms itself to be monster of the week.

Loved it, the overall atmosphere of this episode was amazing and I particularly enjoyed the ending when they realized that even after everything they did, the villagers were STILL continuing with their ceremony like nothing had happened. It shows how deeply their superstition and delusion ran in a subtle way.

The part where the horror was leading the children to the swamp was also pretty well done and small details like the statue being bloody after killing those kids were small but very nice details.

Not the best of eps the villagers are the same type we have seen a million times before the fight with the horror was also rather cliche as was the kid being so like the MC and the way he got over is so fast felt very contrived and I already knew what was going to take place before it did so yeah average eps

Now that's one creepy village to have to live in...

Freaking hell... that's one "young lady" our womanizer share a bed with too soon XD.

A WILD MILF HAS APPEARED!

Doll found in the wood... holy crap it's probably cursed or something...

I think the doll took on the form of Alois and did in those kids.

Ceremony... I think it's something rather sickening...

The villagers got what they deserved.

At least Leon realized that revenge is not the right path to take.

Poor Herman didn't get any this time either ;_:. It was really satisfying when villagers got what they deserved, although I'd prefer it was more bloody (even though I'm not a fan of gore). They perished way too quick. At least the leader of the group got a proper punishment at the end. Combat was splendid as usual, but I'd love to see something less one sided. I understand that the idea here is that Leon is the legendary OP golden knight, but they could add some Herman action to the mix, or just make it more challenging. Either way, great episode and I hope this series keeps up the quality, 5/5. This is currently my favorite series of the season, I hope they'll get to the main storyline soon.

What is evil? Right and wrong?

"Leave it. It is not our job to pass judgement on humans."

Though I think I might be pulling stuff out of the blue, for once I actually see some symbolism and philosophical aspects to a series. XD
I am enjoying this series, and I like how it doesn't have yet a singular plot. Everything is, rather, falling into place slowly. We probably get some more character development for the next few episodes before the main plot picks up.

Really messed up village. I liked how they continued that cycle at the end. The atmosphere of the villagers are really similar to the salem witch trials. Shows how far paranoia and suspicion can go.
I'm enjoying this more than I thought. Hope the main plot picks up soon, the build up is nice so far.

Very good episode, that village was extremely cruel. How can you hate a MILF that much?

Glad Leon was the hero of this episode. He needed more screen time. Alfonso episode next? Finally! I've been wondering how he'll play a role in this series.

Finally a good take on how revenge corrupts. Instead of seeing the MC turn into an annoying character for 2+ episodes and how they get affected by wanting revenge, we get 1 episode that was actually interesting and good, also portraying the message clearer than most.

I seriously believe that this show gets better with every episode, and the fight scenes are wonderfully fluid!
Little bit of character development and world building.
Next we get to see the price again, wonder who the Knight of Light is.

That moment when you think you are approaching a cute girl from behind only to discover the true face of horror.

Btw we all know why the villagers killed her husband. Look at the women they had. They wanted a piece of that ass and when the stranger in town seem to be the one getting it instead of them they just lost all sanity. That is true hidden plot.

definetly agree to this, im going to assume alfonso is going to team up with leon and herman to retake the kingdom from mendoza and the horrors, building up a rebellion comprised of makai knights and alchemists to take on the corrupt horror empire, oh man this shit is gonna be epic if it goes this route

That was actually cool. The village is fucked up that's for sure. Leon is in control for most parts. Herman the funny guy, yet serious, was able to do his part as well. Leon seems to understand Alois because they want revenge. Also, his mother is a MILF. Hahahahaha!

Episode of transition but that does not leave disappointed, given the hardness of the narrative.
Nothing watered down to the end, that's the beauty of the story flowing smoothly.
The design is nice, because the animations. Perhaps the CG monster is a little ugly, a little.
Excellent growth of Leon.

Lol Herman : "At least die because of a woman, then you can go down like a man". I love this guy, he's hilarious. I also like the newest Makai knight they just introduced even though I know NOTHING about him. He just seems really cool, and it looks like he's going to train Alfonso

What a creepy village! I felt so bad for Alois and Aurelia but I'm also glad that they got a chance to leave and have a better life.

It was good to have Leon as the focus of this episode and he seems to have better control this time. Next episode looks like it will be centred on Alfonso.

That was an excellent episode, from start to finish: I loved how Alois' thirst for revenge perfectly mirrored Leon's, and the scene where the latter tries to dissuade the former to take the same destructive path only to realise his own hypocrisy was a very powerful one.

I also really enjoyed the fact that this week's Horror was not pure evil, but instead a morally ambiguous one, and that he/she/it/xe was on Alois' side till the end. Even when the doll took its true Horror form and fled from the fight against Leon, it still attacked the villagers, as if to carry out Alois' vengeance.

Leon's face after he killed the Horror was heart-breaking, and the ending incredibly cruel.

Definitely the best episode yet!

the Horror actually did Alois a favor by slaying almost all of the villagers except for that scumbeg chief. the Horror was so good-natured that it prevented Alois from harboring any kind of ill wills against the villagers for what they did to their dad.

ok nevermind, they didn't meet the prince. it was some other knight, which answers my question as to whether other knights still exist (or if they'd all been hunted and killed)

i feel bad for the boy. not only do you lose your dad, but to lose him like that, and right in front of your eyes. and then your mother is blamed for all the misfortunes in the town, and you're ostracized and bullied by the other kids... that sucks. i'm honestly glad many of those men were killed by the horror, even if their ridiculous "exorcism" crap carries on. also think it's kind of dumb to have a wooden doll as a friend, but, i guess i can kind of understand a kid thinking that way

i didn't realize horrors could possess objects though. i thought they only possessed people?
