| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, that was cute. The slice of life atmosphere felt okay until the second half. Lol, no cell phone reception. Anyways, I expect some light mindfuck oddball circumstances in this series. Already, the girls gets attacked in this weird world. I expect more questions to be answered soon but damn, this is definitely no just a slice of life of cute girls doing cute things. The transformation scenes are alright I suppose. Decent OST. ED song is okay. This Yuuna girl is quite something. |

| I knew something was up when I realized the promos weren't really showing anything except character designs and some sound clips (similar to PMMM's marketing strategy) But man what a pretty show so far! And that real-time transformation~, I'm so excited about what this show will bring. |
| I had no idea this was going to happen, the synopsis was rather vague so there wasn't really much that would say it's a magical girl warrior anime. I definitely got Madoka Magica vibes, but that's not a bad thing as long as it's fresh--and from the first episode, it feels fresh. Things aren't explained, though, but I'm not going to let that bother me. |

| Well, all I can really say so far is that I did not expect this to be a magical girls show. It could be interesting to see where this goes. And if I end up liking it, I may just have to give Madoka Magica a look as well. |

| I was immediately struck by the high quality of the animation. I guess they have a good budget. Like other people are commenting here, it is very strongly reminiscent of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. However, it hasn't grabbed me so far. The four girls here seem indistinct. In Madoka, there were very strong characters from the very start. Also, Madoka was packed full of a lot of hidden information that was only brought out by fans after a lot of effort. For example, each witch had a name written in a secret language. Eventually, a group of fans were able to decode them. I want to follow this for another episode or two to see whether or not there is a "Mami-moment". |

| I thought this gonna be slice of life anime :) After first part I thought this gonna be something like Sket Dance, but with cute girls. Now I think Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica xD Even soundtrack sound like made by Kajiura Yuki :) Well... gonna check out next episode :) |

| Saw the "slice of life" tag on MAL. Thought it was gonna be another boring happy SoL story. Holy shit, completely dead wrong. After the light from the sky scene, my rating went from 5/10 to 9/10. got freakin madoka magica vibes in the 2nd half. 9/10 |

| This was unexpected i read the Summary but didn't expect it to be a mahou shoujo anime. Not sure if the tags are right but so far it didn't look bad and i am wondering how they will fight these enemies. In particular the girl in the wheel chair what kind of power will she get that makes her able to fight? |

| My post wasn't specifically addressed at you - more the fact that half the posts on the first page were comparing the series to Madoka, when I'm not seeing any similarity between them at all, beyond the most superficial of levels. The focuses are in completely different places. The nature of their fight is completely different as is the concept. There's no more similarity between the characters (and their attitudes) than you would expect to get by chance. And I don't want this to turn into a repeat of Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou where just about everyone in the discussion threads was just slagging of the series for every aspect where it was similar to Madoka, and then again for every aspect in which it was different. At least that one was obviously inspired (at least to some extent) by Madoka, though. This one obviously isn't. edit: heck, now I'm the one making the comparisons. Better stop. |

| Woah there, Madoka feel to it. I actually really enjoyed it! Not sure why I see a lot of hate about it. That being said, I'm not going to compare between the two. I'm sure it'll be much more enjoyable that way. Not to mention, this is SOL ;). Time to watch the 2nd episode special! ^^ |

Because since Madoka popularized le dark mahou shoujo, at least, ahem, some studios do try to cash on the phenomena. It's about the approach rather than any particular aspects, so you can expect that people grew some scepticism. And since the trend is very much alive and there isn't much other innovation to talk about, people likely won't get tired of it soon. |

| Well i wish i didn't spoil myself going on the website before this aired knew magic would be involved but i have to stay they kinda set the tone here didn't think they would go for a more serious magical girl "how serious" is still yet unknown with my low expectations and only watching this for BUNBUN's char designs this was enjoyable i think the best part was the music not gonna throw around a whole bunch of Madoka comparisons but the music felt really similar to me if nothing else only thing i hate is dem cheesy lines i cringe everytime the word Hero is mention lol |

| I sort of like the animation. The puppet play was quite enjoyable. The hero club doing whatever they can to help. Didn't expect the second half at all. The world suddenly stopped and covered with a barrier. Having to defeat monsters to protect the world. The transformation scenes were pretty nice. Especially liked Yuna transforming in the midst of battle! |

| So, it's not a "cute girls doing cute things" show after all. I would've never guessed this would involve Sci-fi/Supernatural elements. Not bad though. I like how Yuna is already a badass. Fu-senpai thought she was the sh!t with that big sword, but not really. Itsuki is even weaker. I bet even Togo could fight better. XD Jokes aside, interesting start. Still don't get what Fu meant by "we're it." Perhaps, she wanted to tell the others that they were all a bunch of Mahou Shoujo from the start? XD Btw, who the hell is Shinju-sama? I won't be surprised if he ends up being the final boss though. Dude probably just wants to play around with some middle school girls. XD |

| - artwork is okay, a little under the other shows this season - beginning scene was pretty funny - girl in wheelchair... expecting some feels-related trip later on - the VAs for the girls are acceptable - ........... mahou shoujo anime?! what in the world is happening?! (MAL needs to update them tags lol) hmm, i dont really watch mahou shoujo stuff... will try another episode or two though. |
