Why do we work, why do we toil, what is the reason for all of this strife we go through?
Our lives. But regardless how difficult/easy our lives are, what is the reason that you continue to live?

May it be for family, friends, hobbies, or even just living for the sake of being alive.

Or have you no reason to live?

That's a hard question for some people to answer. I'm still finding my reason, I know that I'll find it once I reach my goal though.

I used to have one. Now I don't anymore.

Still not sure what I'm still doing here. Probably finding another reason to live.

I honestly have no idea. I sometimes think I have none at at all...but then again, this is from someone who has attempted the "s" word once before...

I think my "reason" is for the little things; living till the new movie I want to see comes out, living to talk to my friends in the morning, just stupid tidbits like that.

The first thing that popped in my head was... "Why should I have a reason to live?" Lol.

No, really... I don't think I need a reason to live... I'm just living my life until fate or destiny comes and takes my precious life away.

I've got several, none of which are so trivial that I'd expose them to you guys. It's a fairly important question, and one which deserves a real quest to answer it. Not taking it seriously is one of the major failings of a whole lot of people.

There's a lot of other potential buggers who could be alive if one of my ancestors got eaten by a tiger or something, so I feel I should at least look I'm enjoying myself.

The hope that someday I'll have made it big, with a beautiful, faithful wife and maybe even a kid to call my own. Right now I have no purpose in life, just a loser college kid.

This sure can be a mean old world, but it has plenty of things worth living for.

For me it's the small things that give me reason to live, my music, movies, anime, food, invertibrites, reptiles, nature and plenty more.

Get out of College.
Find a career I can enjoy well enough.

There is no reason to live. But I CHOOSE to live because dying isn't really going to do anything, only pain and sorrow to your family.

If you are alive, you have a reason to live. It might just be that it is your indifference to life/death in the first place. Just because it isn't significant doesn't mean that it isn't there.

My reason for being alive is to enjoy. The way I see it, there really isn't a point to living if you're just going to conform to the standard life that society expects you to follow: grow up, work, get married, have kids, retire, die.

Every day I wake up and strive to enjoy myself and not worry about all the other things that people tend to dislike.

To entertain. I plan to direct movies and even if many people think they suck, if one person is entertained by them, I'll be satisfied with my life.

I'm actually not sure yet. After all, I'm only 16 and I still have SO much to learn. My goal is to one day find my reason.

I live for tomorrow, to drown myself in sorrow.
Life is to short to be worrying, about the future that is nearing.

What is my reason to live, maybe i should not have believe
The hope, the dream, the desire, in this cynic world they conspire.

We live because we have no other choice. We work and toil through every suffering day in order to stay alive.

Another reason could be that because some of want to see a good outcome come out of our lives someday. I guess some of us just wants to work hard to see how far we'll go. And I mean like, it's boring if you don't do anything with your life. You have to make it interesting.

I'm not sure if I have a reason, or if I even really need one. All I know is that I enjoy being alive and I'm sure don't want to die yet. That's all. I don't need a definite purpose to be content.

Pleasure.

AND NOT THE DIRTY KIND.

I just want to be able to do the things I enjoy most in the world for the rest of my life, and incorporate it into everything I do.

I live for my goals. For promises which I'm currently working to fullfill.
Also someday when you grow up & have kids, you want them to learn from you. In a way you last forever. You live through your kids.

true. I can be here simply because my mom and dad created me, but there is no real reason for me being here. And I don't give a damn if I don't have a reason for being here.

Surely those of you who say you have no reason to live wouldn't be here if you didn't, would you not? I mean, if you truly have no reason to live, why not just kill yourself? Naturally, if you have no reason to keep playing a game, why keep playing it? Normally, you'd turn it off and move on. I think most of you just don't want to die, possibly out of fear that there is no game to play after this one. That or you have some sort of attachment to this world. In other words, you have a reason to live.

If they really had nothing to live for they wouldn't be watching anime or even browsing this website.

Yeah anime is a small thing, but if it's something you enjoy doing and plan on continue-ing to do so, it's something to live for.
As for the net, being here is living to ease your boredem.

So many small overlooked reasons, silly people.

There are friends to be made, beer to be drunk, and a lot of truly wonderful and beautiful things to see/experiance. *shrugs* What more of a reason do I need? ^^
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed - Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.'

These two more or less sum up what I live for, pleasure and individuality. More so pleasure, and I am also refering to the vulgar kind.

Great thread.

I don't really have a reason to live at the moment..if anything all I'm doing is trying to keep alive while I search for a reason to live.
