Well, when he sees the girl next to Archer being attacked by Saber, he loses his composure. I don't blame him for that. Forgetfulness said: I thought Shirou didn't realize Rin was there until afterwards. Regardless, Archer acknowledged in episode 0 that Rin's command seal actually helped their connection because she was such a potent magi. Actually he catches a sight of Rin before he orders Saber to stop. |

| Another hour with another epic episode in here but it felt like the prologue is much more better than this episode tbh. Well I think because Rin is the one that I was paying attention in the episode and her personality I guess. Shiroe's perspective looked really great, and gave me some tension where Illya came by, a recent murder came, the battle, and how he manage to save himself from Lancer. As always ufotable makes there battle scenes a lot more epic and flashy, but it felt short for Saber vs Lancer. As for the supporting characters they have a good role in the story, so I want to see what they will do, especially Sakura. I need to see more, I can't wait for another week. Edit: Oh yeah forgot about Op and ED. IDK I love the OP song a lot then the ED tbh. The ED was also good, but it didn't give me a bit "pumped up" feel to it. As for Saber, I was pretty much "Ahhhh Saber is here!" hands in the air and stuff, and as always she looked badass when fighting. |

| Didn't like this episode as much as the previous, but that was also mostly due to the previous episode's Rin focus. For one, I think they could have left in some more monologues, although they did relatively fine without them. Liked that Avalon tease. As for the battle, another well animated one, albeit not as awesome as Lancer vs Archer. OP and ED were nice, preferred the ED, tho. Mostly due to the song. Will have to see how both grow on me in the coming weeks. So overall another really good episode. |

Only the first episode and already he's used one of his Command Spells. It wouldn't do to kill the love interest of the UBW route in the first episode, after all. I enjoyed the cameos by Illya and you-know-who. I know from watching the movie that but I hope she at least gets more airtime than in the film adaptation. |

| I liked how they portrayed Shirou, actually. I think, with the scenes during the fire, the part with Kiritsugu, and the moments like Issei telling him that he is too fast to help people gets across his character pretty well. It's impossible to portray all of his monologues in an anime format unfortunately, but I thought they did a pretty good job of it here. Also, wow, Lancer's Gae Bolg was wicked as hell here. Damn. | So this is what casual anime looks like on steroids. Just like the other perspective of the prologue, they could have easily cut 20 minutes and avoided the useless breakfast scenes and cringeworthy dialogue. Is the animation the only thing this is going to have going for it? Fate/Zero's masters were way more interesting then what's on show here. Shirou is so boring, thirty minutes of this episode were dedicated to showing off what a submissive moron this guy is. He's like a garbage version of Kiritsugu(the one redeemable scene of this ep outside of the fight scene). If he spends more than one more episode being clueless then he's not coming back into the light for me. I can't be bothered waiting for this guy to be slowly spoonfed what's going on, and I have a horrible feeling his sense of justice is going to make me want to drop the series. Gotta love how Saber realised he's not a proper master and didn't know what the hell was going on and her first reaction to that is to fucking head off into battle. Not to even mention that her master was injured. Yeah way to go Saber. I've only just realised, why didn't lancer simply behead Rin in episode zero? This guy dashes faster then the eye can track and for some reason he was chasing Rin at ordinary speed. I'm already getting heavy vibes that the masters and servants are most likely going to go out of their way to drag this series to the ends of the earth. This is going to be a riot with high school characters trying to carry something adult characters barely could. |

HOLY FUCK! AMAZING!  Sakura..... I love you.... Seriously, fucking fantastic episode! They are absolutely killing it with this adaptation. They did a great introduction into Shirou and the other characters. I love Shirou, they did such a good job showing his back story and why he wants to be a hero. Kiritsugu... :tears:  And they did a great job with Sakura too, she's such a nice lady! Also so much foreshadow in this episode, it was great. Like these things: The fight between Lancer and Saber was epic. Gae Blog being unleashed was so sick! Thank god Saber has a good luck stat or she would have been fucked! I need a gif of Gae Bolg being used, that was just too sweet. And it's so great to see Saber! Best girl right here!  And we now we're officially in the UBW route with that command spell used by Shirou! Can't wait for some more Rin next episode.  Plus, the OP and ED are fantastic. I think the OP is my favorite of the season. |
| To be honest, the art and animation look freaking amazing this time around so I'm really thrilled about it. Fuji-nee sure is childish... Funny how I was thinking the episode was not ending only to notice it was almost 48 minutes long lol. That grovelling technique doe... Kiritsugu hype! Poor Shirou for being such a good guy and accepting to do Shinji chores for him... Shirou vs Lancer! Hype ON! I mean trace on! Saber-chan hype :3! The Saber vs Lancer battle was really awesome, great animation. So epic it's making me shed manly man tears T.T |
