Is Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works a remake of Fate/stay night (the original one)?

Is it the same, with the same story as the original one? Just a remake with only a few changes? OR is it completely different?

And can I watch this INSTEAD of the original fate/stay night, and then watch Fate/zero? Or is it different than fate/stay night and do i have to watch the original one too?

Can you guys tell me the order of it all if original one is DIFFERENT than the new unlimited blade works one?

It's a different route in the story, meaning that it's going to be mostly different with the same characters. UBW and the original FSN anime are basically parallel universes, or that's how I understood it.

The 2006 anime is not only different, but it's not canon and isn't part of the current franchise.

If you want to get into Fate/ franchise, start with reading the VN (ideal method). If you don't like reading, then just watch this anime, then HF, then F/Z.

It is completely different. As the source material is a VN where players make choices to influence the outcome or plot, this follows a different route than the 2006 FSN.

From what I know, UBW is extremely different from the Fate route (Which the original FSN takes), but Deen tried to blend all 3 routes into their failed adaptation, leading to bits and pieces of UBW and HF (Heaven;'s feel - the 3rd route) into their adaptation. However, all these adaptations work ON THE SAME TIME PLANE.

As for Fate/Zero, it's the prequel to FSN, so it works on a time plane around 10 years prior to all the happenings of FSN. Watching in either order will be fine, but both will contain spoilers for the other. (Zero spoils Saber for most of FSN, whereas FSN spoils the ending of F/Zero).

If I were to make my recommendation, wait for UBW to finish, then watch Zero. Then watch Heaven's Feel coming out after UBW. Skip 2006 deen failed adaptation.

If you're really impatient though (Since UBW is only slated to end mid-next year), then its up to you whether you want to just go on with FSN 2006 or Zero first.

tl;dr, UBW > Zero > HF (To be released after UBW finishes), skip FSN 2006

No, no, no and nope.

It's an adaptation of the second route (which is called Unlimited Blade Works) of the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel.

Yes. It's actually recommended (but not the "OMG ITS ALL RUINED IF YOU WATCHED F/Z FIRST§§§" kind of recommended) to read the VN before F/Z, since the latter was meant as a prequel and spoils a few important bits of F/SN (especially regarding the first and third routes, Fate and Heaven's Feel). So you may as well watch this, read the rest VN to get the Fate route, and if you don't feel like waiting for the upcoming Heaven's Feel movie(s) adaptations. And then you may hop into F/Z.

Do not watch the 2006 Fate/Stay Night anime nor the 2010 UBW movie: they suck and don't do the source material any justice.

Bunch of elitists. The first FSN is still a good watch.

Saying that would be insulting to UBW, which is the better of the two.

2006 FSN is without a doubt one of the best/iconic animes there are and everyone should watch it.
It`s safe to watch em in release order, nothing lost. On the contrary it propably makes more sense that way.

It wouldn't be confusing, not much anyways. Just note that UBW is different in tone compared to Zero. It's Heaven's Feel that's similar to Zero, although you need to watch UBW first at the very least. And preferably, read the Fate route.

I don't understand the hate on 2006 version.
It's still good on it's own. Those only hate it are the ones who watched the other Fate series.
