Thank god there's not censorship. Not sure about the OST tho, why dubstep? oh, and the ED was cool, love it.

Meh, they did that entire scene to highlight the fact something was wrong with this arm so I am ok with it.

it gives us insight into what the humour might be like

That scene was most likely not made to humor people though.

Wew they changed the way it starts. Also two new scenes that i don't remember seeing in the manga were added. Unfortunately the music background in the pv did not play much during the episode arrrgh dubstep. And Migis voice does not sound better than the one in the movie. In all it was okay. Hype this.

Madhouse did a splendid job. The animation is good and love the opening but didn't like the dubstep. The dog scene was pretty creepy. Some of the scenes were unnecessary like the boob grab. I sure hope they stop doing that.

The first 15 seconds of the episode I was like "please uncensored, please uncensored" and yeah boy uncensored :D I didn't like the Shinichi's design, but in the last image in the OP he looks like the original design, so is great. Waiting for next episode! :D

Is it just me or does he seem to be forgetting stuff and changing?

First forgetting that he requested no eggs and Bacon then forgetting he was always afraid of bugs? It's like he's forgetting some minor things about his personality bit by bit?

There's some quality in this adaptation. Really neatly done. It's all up to the story now. I've taken a liking to the hand and the human is also fairly promising as a character.

Beautifully animated despite some bad 3D at the beginning. Finally a mature anime that doesn't pander with "cuteness" and moe. So far it's excellent, hopefully it'll be good all the way through.

lol dubstep

As a manga reader I was wary about this anime version, but once more Madhouse delivers a quality adaption. They updated the look and technology a bit, and switched stuff around (his meeting with his Parasite is now a flashback) but it's all very well done. And NO stupid censorship. If you have a quality product you expect it to sell due to it's qualities and not because people will want to buy and see it 'uncensored'

The only thing that I found a bit meh was the OST. But it didn't deduct from my enjoyment.

They adapted two chapters, fair enough. They replaced some scenes from the second chapters for other scenes, the toilet scene for instance which was amazing. Sad actually, but I guess they are trying to make this Anime for dark and deep, so that's why they left it out. It might also come in the second episode.

Art was great; luckily no censorship; and the tracks were pretty nice as well (dubstep lol). Opening is amazing. The female character actually looks like a female. She looks like shit in the Manga. But yeah, in terms of storytelling this adaption easily surpasses the Manga. Pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to this.

Freaky anime. When I saw the trailer I knew it was gonna be pretty crazy but they really glad it didn't disappoint. The talking occasionally uncontrollable hand was pretty funny and will probably be great for future laughs.

Great first episode, it just flew by.
The fact this is slated for two seasons fills me with lots of hope. Aya Hirano sounds great too.

Not really a fan of the OP but i like how the ED is completely opposite to it.

Definitely looking forward to the rest.

I hated the OST, particularly dubstep, so much that I could not enjoy the episode. I actually like dubstep but it was pretty out of place. That's a shame. I did not feel the tension like I got from the manga because of that.

I liked the character designs, the animation and the direction though. Hope I can get used to it, otherwise it'll be tough for me to focus on what's going on rather than what the heck I am listening to?!

So, it's a lighthearted action anime with lots of humor... Didn't expect that. The main character design reminds me Bleach (especially the manga version) and the other character has some similarities with Father from GeGeGe no Kitarou... So yeah, of course it's not as good as HxH/Kindaichi/Kuroshitsuji, but with these shows being gone, I think I will watch at least some more episodes...

Wow it's so damn bad -.- How can I be the only one that dares to say that.
All of those unnecessary changes from the anime and they skip way too much.
Instead of his hand acting up and crushing the chalk that his teacher throws at him. He just sits there and he grabs a person's breast as a replacement for that scene.

He's scared of insects for some reason, while he is not in the manga and the list goes on.

4/10 so far.

A big facepalm to the dubstep usage. A studio this old should know that Pop music doesn't remain topical one the hype's passed and no one will like the soundtrack then. Even as an avid fan of most sub-genres of electro music, dubstep included, even with a biased judgement I can say that ths isn't the place for this. Aside from that it's an enjoyable anime.

First off, that OP was fucking trash. That band is garbage.
They tried to make the whole invasion and the presence of Migi a 'mystery' by telling everything out of order. It flopped because there was no real pay off, the reveal happened casually within a dream/flashback sequence and viewers already knew what was happening. Besides this slip up, the pacing was decent afterwards. I am also surprised that there was fairly no censorship within the first episode. It obviously will come later on in later episodes though.
The breast grab was completely unnecessary, nothing was gained from it, I'm pretty sure eechi loving trash didn't even care for it.
The key animation was brilliant. The animators put a lot of care into give Migi characterization just from it's movement. The CG background characters do bother me, it seems to becoming a more common thing in anime. If more CG B-shots means more well done key animation, I guess I can tolerate it.

Overall, it was a decent first episode. With 24 episodes I'm sure they can make a decent series, and hopefully fix up that rushed ending from the manga.

Woah. It was creepy and uh, gross as some parts, but I liked it. Looking at the OP, Shinichi seems to change sooner or later. I was like, is that guy at the end of the the OP the same dude as the one with the glasses...? And the thing that people are calling Migi is kind of funny. Shinichi and Migi's interactions are amusing.

Hmm and wondering what's up with Shinichi's mother's hand. It looks like a scar from a burn or something :o

And was that Miura Daichi for the ED? Was a pretty and relaxing song.

I actually loved the OP myself. Sure the song isn't the best but the visual effects were stunning.

They didn't try to make it a mystery at all, it's just their form of storytelling. They show all this weird stuff happening to this normal kid, mentioning things that occurred that we didn't see at the moment then in the dream sequence it explains what went on the night before. It wasn't really meant to be mysterious. It was build up, not a mystery. Build up to him discovering what is wrong with his hand.

As for the boob grab, it's fine, it was also build up and it wasn't put there for comedy or fan service, the slap was maybe for comedy but not the breast grab. They clearly showed it wasn't part of his actual character and that it was foreshadowing to something being wrong with his hand. The payoff wasn't seeing the flashback to him getting the parasyte in his hand, the pay off was him stopping the car with his bare hand and seeing the eyeball on his hand.

Based Madhouse, what a great fucking episode!

The violence was intense. That opening scene, and the dog were really gross. I find Migi to be really cute, especially because Hirano Aya voices it.

No censorship, great ost, and 2 cours? This is going to be AOTY if it stays this good.
