Can we post some hiphop in here too? If so, this is a recent hiphop/rnb soul (underrated) which i found on a new mixtape that was released not long ago;

Personally I like this version of 3005 instead of the original It's just got a more chilled vibe.

Bronsolino is the man Blue Chips 2 was the shit.

Ah nice, Mastermind had some cool tracks on it but didn't really do it for me. I've been loving Freddie Gibbs ever since I first heard ESGN. Madlib x Freddie Gibbs has been one of the best partnerships of the past few years.

The Cilvia Demo or Piñata would be my favorite so far. Isaiah Rashad is crazy talented and Top Dawg Ent. has been dropping pretty nice albums so far. Not really hip hop but Kaytranada's 'Whatever' and Death Grips' 'Nigga's on the moon' have sparked my interest too. Is Kuaui any good? Still got to check that out.

Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$ got me waiting tho :l

You sir have great taste, Rashad is easliy one of the most slept on top tier mc's in the game, I even left him out of the AOT discussion just now shame on me. As for death grips they will have to release Jenny Death before I can hand them any accolades. Kaui was alright, but STN MTN was much better (I love the atl sound, their drums hit so hard.) B4.DA.$$ will probably end up as AOT for all genre.

The real question is: Will B4.DA.$$ be better than 1999?

Bobby Shmurda is also planning to release an album this year, I can't deny that I would like to hear that one too when it drops lol

So yeah, I suck, and I'm just bombing this real quick, but I saw the word, 'Hip-Hop,' and I felt compelled.

Tribe Called Quest: Electric Relaxation, Oh My God, Vibes and Stuff, We Got the Jazz.

Nas: New York State of Mind, It Ain't Hard to Tell, One Love.

Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers (the whole album,) GZA's track, Cold World, ODB's track, Brooklyn Zoo, and of course, off of Wu-Tang Forever- Triumph.

To me, this is what I would call Hip-Hop, still to this day. In my opinion, Wu-Tang is the Led Zeppelin of Hip-Hop, this is what I feel is the genre at its' purest form. Oh yeah, I'm like 30, so just take this as an old dude giving some suggestions if you never heard. Dead Prez- Hip-Hop, is pretty sick, too. That bass line, though, plus the lyrical content is good.

BTW, I'm more prone to aggressive punk music from the 70-80's and classic rock, but this is what I really respect in terms of Hip-Hop.

Cheers, bro. Glad to see someone recognize these tracks, keep them in rotation! The real shit should never be forgotten.

Hip-Hop isn't about some fake shit or dreams, it's about the realness and the flow of the MC. Try to mess with the GZA or Q-Tip in the terms of intelligence or rhymes, you're gonna lose each time.

Wu-Tang, Suuuuu!

Seriously, though, listen, and I mean REALLY listen to, Enter the Wu-Tang and try to tell me that there was another album dropped in the past 10 years that matches the style and beat. Good luck. Each members flow is beyond what modern styles can provide, the true Hip-Hop.

Who is your favorite dude from Wu-Tang? Personally, I don't see anyone topping Raekwon, love that dude.

Also, like one mention of Nas' Illmatic in this thread, which is insane. Best album from this genre.

Damn, that's hard. Raekwon is ill with his mafia-style, but Method is ridiculously smooth and you can't forget ODB because his style was so damn unique.

For me I have to go along with GZA as my favorite since his vocabulary is ridiculous and he has a good delivery, Clan in Da Front's second verse is pretty sick.

Yeah, Illmatic is required material- period.

Has there been any better hiphop duo than MC Guru & DJ Premier? Eric B & Rakim, Madvillain, Snoop & Dre, Jaylib, Mobb Deep; they just aren't the same like those two (imo at least). Gang Starr has to be one of the most underrated hiphop acts of the past 25 years.

East coast > West coast for lyfe btw

ODB is eternal of course. I never really got all of the GZA love when it comes to rapping (dudes beats are legendary for a reason). Outside of Liquid Swords I could not really get down with most of the guys stuff.

Any love for Watkin Tudor Jones in here? Dude is seriously my idol in life, he is such an incredible dude. I can understand if you don't like Die Antwoord, but his older stuff is just as incredible if not better. The Constructus Corporation album is my 2nd favorite hip hop album of all time.
