THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

I thought this episode was okay. That MC is funny. And that ending was hilarious too.

That felt so CGI-ish... Is CGI a new trend now?

Didn't know what to think at first, but after watching it I was pleasantly surprised.

Best premiere of Fall so far for me
Haven't seen Parasyte, Garo, or Mushishi S2 Part 2 yet though, so we'll see if it can keep its crown

In all seriousness, this episode was just pure awesomeness.
I can't even compress it in words about how these 24 minutes excited me in a way that I loved it even more than the F/SN UBW prologue.
It was so good for me that I'd even give this anime a 10/10 just because of this episode.

It is a serious candidate for my anime of the year.
“Listen, little girl. When I refer to a young woman, I mean someone who manages a student dorm and has the tolerance to give anyone advice if they want it. And there is one thing you lack as far as that’s concerned. Do you know what that is, little girl?”

There was no way she could, so she gave him a confused look and he gave the answer.

Was it? then the CGI was well done if so cause I hate that damn new trend...

Anyway it was just so so to me.... Somehow i also got some weird cowbow and zorro like vibe from this ep... after the 1st few minutes of course though lol

This show screams fun. The animation is top-tier and the character designs are great especially for the devil girl.

Mixed feelings overall but honestly it was still fairly enjoyable.

I love Favaro so far, very fun protagonist with an energetic personality. Sort of like a medieval version of Lupin III.

Plot seems like it has potential... just 1 big problem... The pacing is waaaay too fast. They are going to need to slow it down just a bit. I don't mind it being fast paced but it was somewhat difficult to keep up with everything that happened.

Animation was smooth, good designs, only tiny nitpick are sometimes the background characters are drawn lazily, other than that, pretty perfect.

The soundtrack, omfg the soundtrack. So epic. Though it was placed awkward occasionally.

Overall, really enjoyed it. Hope it slows down a bit though.

In the beginning the dragons were CGI, though it really was done well. It might be just me but I felt some action scenes were CGI style too, mostly focused when the girl fought that huge monster in the 2nd part.

Really unusual stuff so far...but it was fun.

Besides the action, I also find that guy's hair to be wacky. I don't dislike it though but it might take awhile to get used to. I haven't played the games before but I this could be fun to watch. I think it's also a 1 cour show.

LOVED IT SOOOO MUCH! (100% potential to be my fav series of the season)
I miss Yoshino Hiroyuki being a main character, so now I'm super happy not to mention that Favaro is soooooooooooooo lovable! I already have the urge to put him in my fav characters.

The animation is very good, those epic OST can't go wrong and I'm definitely love Onda Naoyuki's character design.

Dat animation! I thought I was watching a movie. OST is awesome too. Definitely one of my top shows this season. Just hope the plot won't start going downhill.

Also, Amira along with Aida from G-Reco are my Fall beauties ♥

This was like a breath of fresh air, coming from the highschool setting. The characters were refreshing too. I still have mixed feelings about Amira, but it's still far too early to judge her. I hope she's just not a another typical plot device.

The Bahamut at the beginning left me off with major Deathwing vibes.
In all honesty though, this anime is definitely a keeper. I agree with Keten about the pacing. That's the only flaw I could pick out so far. The animation and OST are just astonishing.

I wonder what happened to Favaro at the end though. Maybe Amira decided to make him her devil minion since he knows the shortcut to Helheim?

really not bad! I liked both animation and char design.
Honestly I never played at this so I'll think of it as an anime not a game but it would be bad to read some input from players

that ending song was amazing!
I'll defenitely keep watching

I really loved this. It surprised my of how "Western" it is. I loved all the characters and I loved the action and comedy. My favorite premiere so far.

The animation was excellent and the music was really good too. I had a lot of fun with this.

I really enjoyed it. There was even Jack Sparrow with the wheel. Then the main character is quite funny and his way of fighting that involved many tricks is also something that I like.

Actually, if you look at, not much really happened. I think it had pretty good pacing, it just wasn't slow .

We only got a small prologue to show what Bahamut was and what it can do. We were introduced to out three main characters, found out their occupations, their relationship to each other, what they can do and just over all introductions.

We got to know this world a bit and it seems to be a mix of the Old West and Medieval.

We know that they operate using magic. And we know we've got a strange demon female with a broken compass that needs to get to Helheim, which if you know a little Norse mythology, you know what kind of a realm that is. And she did something to Favaro to make him somewhat half-demon or something.

That's really all that happened this episode. It was just regular set up, but it didn't drag its feet about it.

That was just great, way better than I had anticipated. I'm really excited for this now, MAPPA keep it up! This studio is getting off to a badass start, all their shows have been great

Hmm I think he grew a tail from kissing that demon girl. Seems like some powers and/or memories have been transferred to him

Wow almost felt like a movie.

Never seen so much epicness in an intro. I mean seeing Zeus, Odin, Devil and someone who might be King Arthur fighting against Bahamut.

And OMG they brought Hamsa! The anime wouldn't be complete without him.

Overall nice episode.

The 2000 years ago scene looked pretty epic and mythological!
Bounty Hunters as the MC. Those criminals summoning demons! How they turn into a stone tablet seems interesting too.
A mysterious girl appearing and could transform into a demon form, just one finger having that much power!
Helheim! Can't wait till they get there since something big would happen!
Favaro being turned into a demon at the end xD Probably died that night.

Ok where to begin.

The horse chase in the beginning was nice and I didn't expect to see the Jack sparrow wheel fight here. The character designs are pretty eye catching and seems original. Favaro is a fun and hilarious character who kinda reminded me of Dandy. He's quite energetic and clever as far as I've seen. And Kaisar....well he has a nice name for his horse lol. That demon girl is pretty op. She handled that other summoned monster like nothing. I wonder what she did to Favaro while he was unconscious. But that smooth animation during the fight was simply amazing.

Before watching this I was convinced that F/SN 2014 will take the spot for AOTS but now I'm having doubts. Shingeki no Bahamut really seems like a fun anime and it also somewhat gave of a western feel which isn't a bad thing. With that said I can't wait to see what happens next.

Alright, this looks like a lot of fun. Don't care for the blood/dirt splatters on camera though. I hope they can keep up this quality for future episodes.

And it's about time Ronald McDonald got his own anime.

So this wasn't on my radar, then I checked the trailer and it was really interesting, then I watched the first episode and was really impressed and can't wait for the next one.

Started out as a typical fantasy world, then added in this awesome Western flavour, the visuals were amazing and it was most importantly just a whole lot of fun.

This could end up as one of my favorites this season

Wow! I was hesitant going in seeing as how this is based on a card game but the preview made me give it a shot and the first episode did not disappoint! This show has some great potential.

One of the few anime that actually lived up to the hype! Great directing, great pacing, great animation, GREAT art! We only got a prologue into the story but I'm excited to find out what's going to happen next and I'm sure it's not going to disappoint. Best girl confirmed for Amira and wow, is she powerful. Favaro is a magnetic character, he just stole the show. As far Kaisar... hm, there's hope for him yet.

Looking forward to next episode. I can already tell this is going to be my favorite anime of 2014.

NICE. I really liked this episode! :D Will definitely keep watching this.

Also...this is random but we were joking about how the one guy looks like Space Dandy and Byakuya Kuchiki had a baby so we were calling him Space Kuchiki, heheh. XD

I'm impressed! This first episode was quite packed but everything was handled quite nicely without feeling forced, props to the director for the nice pace. The animation looks quite nice too and I like the character design. 9/10 Great start.

LOL that's right.
Thanks for the correction, slight mistake there as I haven't slept yet at the time so I'm prone to grammatical errors when I'm tired.
However when used out of context it isn't that bad since its the first episode and is one to keep an eye on.

Awesome first episode. It felt like Pirates of the Caribbean that couldn't decide what time period it was in. Fun stuff, absolutely love the character designs too. Something to look forward to this season :D
