There's a 95% confirmed that Leloush died in episode 25 but was revived from the code he received from his father in episode 21 when Charles groped Lelouch's throat before he got devoured by the world of C, giving/leaving the code on Lelouch's neck, the code only activates when the host dies and makes Lelouch into an Immortal. It is assumed that Emperor Charles knew it was his end and tried to help Lelouch against Schneizel as much as he can since Lelouch didn't accept his way of the world. (personally think Charles wants to atone for his sin as f***ed up father towards Lelouch) which also explained why Lelouch stopped Suzaku from interfering when his father gropes his throat.

In the uncut version of the anime, it shows Lelouch smirk at C.C.'s question on the cart.
Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_jRCftsWnA.
The video wasn't fan made, it was only cut because at the time not as many people watch Code Geass as before, so SUNRISE decided it's better if they hide it, just in case they were forced to make a 3rd season when not many people are interested. But now the situation has changed.

For those of you who are obsessed with Code Geass and can't get it out of your mind. (like me) ;) I suggest you go to
http://www.fanfiction.net/anime/Code_Geass

I was so pained when the anime was over that i was crying in my bed and refusiing to go to college :(
the website gave me hope and I pulled through
so for all of you that are heart-broken, go go go , there isn't a moment to waste

Fav pairing: Lelouch x C.C. always... forever...
