I CRIED TT______TT because I could relate so hard to Chiyo TT_____TT she's too nice, really. To be satisfied with the little things that she gets </333333 I was the same way and it sucks. So many disappointments. You tell yourself to just not have any expectations but then he goes ahead and does things to you without thinking (like lift her up or biting her candied apple) and then you start thinking it has deeper meaning when it really doesn't-- Poor girl. To love someone so hard and not be loved back in return /SOBSSSSSSSSSSS
IT'S OKAY. YOU'LL FIND YOUR HAPPY ENDING.
9/10 because no romantic progress between Chiyo and Nozaki. I didn't expect them to kiss this last episode. Even though it would've been nice, I'm glad it didn't happen bc the romance didn't budge, so I think I would've been pissed off if they suddenly added a kiss in the finale out of the blue like that. Too half assed, imo. I'd rather wait for a S2 or get stuck with a tease like this instead. Everything else was superb, though. Hilarious anime and all the characters are great. It just lacks some lovin' that's all :/
I actually didn't end up with my "Nozaki" love, but found someone way better. Hopefully Chiyo either gets him to love her back or a true prince shows up who will love her more than anyone else :')
This was a laid back episode everybody is enjoying the festival and love is in the air atleast for Sakura. I dont know if Nozaki if he is dense or pretends to be but i think its the former, how could he misheard Sakura's confession like that.He loves fireworks too what a lot of bull, but anyway i love him and Sakura and hope they do actually fall in love in future.
I hope season 2 will come someday and i will be waiting
I have to say that I was fairly disappointed in the last episode. The story overall was nice and I love how much she really enjoys just being with him, but I needed more at the end and I was dissatisfied with how episode 12 ended :(....
This show was kinda okayish and all but I guess shoujo romance anime and those gender bender stuff weren't really my thing. Both the main MCs were decent but I barely care about any of the side characters at all and most of their antics made me cringe.
Although I neither like nor hate the series at all, I thought that ending scene with the fireworks confession was good stuff which I guess is basically hinting what's going to happen to their relationship in the future.
What an amazing show!
I can't believe that there's not one single episode that lets me down.
Also you don't always have a heroine you genuinely think is very adorable, especially in Shoujo. Actually every main character are quite likable in this show.
I can certainly value the way the original content was adapted, as well as this manga entirely, but I wished they had done the anime's ending differently. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not pleading for some sort of romantic conclusion,(it would always be nice but it's not needed here) I just wish it was a little less, cliché and predictable. I respect that they decided not to provide romantic development, but the whole "unrequited girl decides that she's fine with the way things are" has been overused and frankly provides no catharsis for me.
Honestly thought that this was a good conclusion to the series. By no means is it perfect; far from it even, but I think that this was as funny as all the other episodes. It still gave me a good laugh even through its ending, which kinda makes it bitter-sweet in a way. This anime actually made me laugh without making me cringe at the same time, an ability that only few anime can do. 8/10, would watch again.
Sakura's entire being just screams cuteness! Her design, her voice, her personality all are adorable.
I feel really bad for Sakura though. The entire series she's been trying to confess and get together with Nozaki and at the end of it he never really changed at all from the beginning. It sucks cause there has been romance anime where nothing happens in the relationship but they still make it satisfying and in this regard its not. Yeah, re-watching this for the first time my image of Nozaki-kun is what I rememeber it being. The anime where nothing happens. (Romance-wise) I wonder if the manga actually goes somewhere with the romance?
However those one sided romance moments with Sakura are adorable and seeing her happy expressions was a blissful experience lol. Even if they all follow the same joke afterwards.
Other than the romance the series itself is very enjoyable and funny. I did enjoy re-watching this despite the lack of romance development. If I ever re-watch this again it definitely wont be for the romance but the comedy.
I have a bittersweet feeling after end this show because it was pretty good since the beginning , I laught a lot outloud and had too much fun with it. But it was like at the end I was expecting for something else, as a serious scene at least at last. But I guess that that kind of end is not suitable with this type of show (mostly comedy about the romance stuff) So I gave it a 8/10.
LOL at nozaki eating the chocolates off the floor. i'll miss his stoic and dense self and especially his deadpan-ness! he's hilarious!
nozaki and sakura would make such a cute couple ✿♥‿♥✿ such a pity it's been years and no season 2. GSNK could have been a lot more! really enjoyed it and the humour was great with refreshing characters.
I think Nozaki also confessed at the moment when Sakura couldn't hear cuz of the fireworks....but didn't told her again and said He also loves the fireworks instead!!
This anime was pretty boring as a romance, In fact, we can say that this anime has it's own style of romance. But the comedy and humor was pretty dense and it maybe one of the best comedy anime I've watched. People keep talking about S2..... I'm pretty sure there won't be a season 2 and to be more precise there shouldn't be any. The way this anime has ended is pretty satisfying. Maybe Nozaki will remain as he is still Chiyo will keep her hidden love love towards nozaki and the comedy will continue. I'm satisfied with this ending. It wasn't rushed.
Great show, but very much a non-ending. Definitely needs a second season, where they hopefully start showing some progress in Nozaki past his constant need to think of manga ideas.
Just finished and yeah... Who ever thinks this is better than Kaguya-sama is out of his/her mind. This show is good to make you smile but that's about it. Only in really rare occasions it made me laugh and it never manage to get me burst out laughing. A safe 6/10
Did anyone else notice that Sakuras hairstyle during the entrance ceremony was the same style as Mamiko’s????
What if Nozaki based Mamiko’s appearance off Sakura from that encounter??? O.O
Of course there wouldn't be a love confession from Nozaki's side. What did you expect? Still a quite lovely finale tho.
Highly entertaining rom-com overall. I had a really good time while watching every single episode.
The entire cast was quite likeable and the chemistry they all shared was simply fantastic. As main lead, I found Sakura rather charming as well as adorable and cute but if I had to choose a favorite character, that would definitely be Mikoshiba with Kashima coming in second place. Every time they had screen-time, the episode they were in became much funnier and more entertaining to watch.
8/10 - It's a real shame a second season will never come tho.
It was a bit of a rough start at first, but Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun ended up being ridiculously funny, cute, and stupid all at the same time, and I greatly enjoyed all of it. It's amazing how the show takes simple misunderstandings and exaggerates them to the point of insanity. That, and the variety of situational humor that seemingly comes out of nowhere, but somehow ties back into some underlying problem of an episode, making said problem worse and worse. No complaints here, just a lot of laughs.
Are you kidding me. I was ready to flip when the credits rolled after we didn't hear Nozakis answer but making him say he loves fireworks was actually way worse.
Great way to throw away everything. I get making Nozaki dense for comedic purposes but how can you be so bad at writing that you wont let Sakura and the viewer have this one win. I thought the anime was good overall and I thought about scoring it 8/10 before that finale but now I'm closer to a 6/10 just because the ending made me so mad.
What a nice way to end the first season. I knew Nozaki wouldn't say that to Sakura's confession, he misunderstood what she said. The stories were great as usual, Nozaki eating that chocolate off the ground, lol. And I love whenever a character has dots as their eyes, one of my favorite facial expressions.
I still don't know if I wanted Nozaki to actually hear Sakura's words and develop the romance between them or if I'm fine with what happened, but as long as Sakura is happy with the result and laughing then I won't feel bad either.
Loved this anime, great comedy and amazing characters. I expected Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun to be something I would enjoy and I'm glad to still feel that now.
A great comedy anime. All the characters got their own different personalities.
That hanabi scene, I almost shock of happiness listening to Nozaki saying 'I feel the same'..... Then saying liking the firework... oh dear...
It's already 7 years, and no season 2...
I honestly like all of the side characters since they were both amusing and adorable at times. Mikoshiba didn't have a love interest, so I'll have to start reading the manga to find out what is going on. The ending, on the other hand, surprised me.
She was firework zoned. It wasn’t unexpected, but it surprised me that she said it a loud.
Since it's been a few years, I'm not expecting a second season, but let's hope for the best.
This is such a cute show.
All the side characters are great, and the three couple pair candidates are very interesting.
Jokes and comedies are genuinely funny, with many inside jokes about shoujo manga.
