This is actually a fo' real question. I have problems staying up till 9:30 because I have to get up at 5:30-6 every morning. How do you all manage to stay up late..becuase I want to, but I hate energy drinks and coffee...I tried cold showers but that makes me even more tired.

You can't be serious. I could murder to sleep that early and wake up at 5-30. But anyway try pulling an all nighter, just one and then sleep from afternoon to midnight. That should mess up your routine. :P

Just browse the internet, or play a video game. I've always found it easy to stay up for long periods of time.

Jeez, I'm kinda jealous ;/
I get up at 05:54, but I can't ever get sleepy untill 24:00 ish.
And as a result I'm dead tired from 06:00 to 19:00, then i start waking up.

Anyway, If you wanna stay up late, the best thing would probably be to play fps-games. Or something scary, get your adrenaline pumping a bit.

I wouldn't know how to face this problem, because I don't have to get up early.:/
I don't really ever try to make myself stay up late, either.

I usually spend my nights in my room, if i'm not watching TV with my family or something.
Im 18, so my parents do not say much if I stay up late.

Personally I've always been something of a night owl and just lean toward staying up late naturally, though I've never really had a problem getting up early when necessary (ie. school/work) but if I had my way I'd make it illegal to get out of bed before 10:00.

I just stay. When I'm sleepy I'm going to sleep. Now my rythm is completely messed up. Really, if you go to bed early but still wake up early you are better than most of us.

Depends, since i don't have class tomorrow i am still up(A little past 5 in the morning where i live). But on days i do have class i got to bed anywhere between 12-2 a.m. since i have to wake up at 9 the next day for class.

Sleep longer. You'll have to repeat that for longer periods to change your rhythm, but it will change over time and let you stay awake longer. Not that it helps you in any way, since your waking time will stay approximately the same, unless you suddenly have to get up early, in which case it will only lower your mental capacity.


And on the edge of sanity I stumble and fall.

In my school holidays, around 12:00am - 2:30am
Otherwise it would be around 10:00pm - 11:30pm

I have sleeping problems either way O: I wake up too early.

and I actually, I think because it was when I got up for school from 6th grade until 12th, just get up at six. I could go to bed at four and get up at six, ready to go. Unless I pound sleeping pills like a madman, I don't ever get to sleep past six.
So, just train yourself to get up at the exact same time, weekday and weekend, for years. Eventually, you are just used to never sleeping, and don't even need to worry about alarms. You just get up.

Hmm i even have to wake up 4:30 AM in the morning, and i slept at 2 AM or 1 AM, pretty much gave me a bag under my eyes

if i were ABLE to fall sleep earlier then 2 or 3 in the morning then i would but i just can never fall asleep earlier then taht, and i wake up at 7 am 5 days a week. 4 hours is enough sleep for me as long as i have my coffee

It depends, really.
For an all nighter, I usually get a bottle of NOS.
Sometimes I can pull one off without any caffeine.
Dunno how I do it, haha.

its not hard for some people ( me) but if your really having trouble then go with just forcing yourself to stay up i get up at 5:00 A.M. for school and i can easily pull 2 allnighters in a row now the3rd and 4th were harder but not impossible

I wake up at 6am everyday to go to school. All nighters aren't hard to do without no chemicals for me at least. If you have a computer screen in front of you, sitting upright on a desk, all lights on around you, I'm sure you could be fine. Playing games on the computer would probably be most effective as something like watching anime, you don't have to do anything. I usually sleep at like 11pm-1am. And uhm you can make up for sleep by sleeping on train, closing your eyes for a minute whenever you can, sleeping during classes (this is the best ^^).

You should have at least 8 hours of sleep to be good, healthy and not acting like a zombie ^^.

you should read a exicting manga or play a game that gets you pumped up or basicly just do something you enjoy in your free time :-)

There was a time I had to get up at 5:15 too, and I still had trouble sleeping earlier than 2300. So I kind of envy you, really.

Anyhow, you could try dedicating yourself to a game, pull an all-nighter with an online game, you'll get through the night with ease.

I stay up late because I take a nap during the day and one of my best friends distracts me all night(we talk about a lot of stuff), then go to sleep between 5am-8am and wake up somewhere between 12am-3am.

I stay-up late because I have many good things to do that sleeping sounds like, well.. boring. Try to find such things to distract you from sleeping.

Just do things you like. I can't even fall asleep earlier than midnight even when getting up at around 7 with 5hours sleep or something.

I haven't bothered to stay up past eleven for a while now, I must be getting old. But when I do it is usually with caffeine. If you don't like coffee, try to find some kind of tea you like. There are lots out there (just not herbal because they have no caffeine to help you out). There is a point somewhere in the middle of the night where I get real tired... then bam, get hit with a second wind.

Just don't make a habit of getting too little sleep. At the end of high school I was probably averaging six hours of sleep, and math class was more like nap class. I sleep a good nine nowadays.

Hmm well I get up at 530 too (not by choice), but staying up till midnight is hardly a challenge. Of course I do nothing to get tired.

WHY are you up at 530, and WHAT fills your day?
Sounds to me like your body is telling you it's had enough day in its day.
If you want to extend your day, a mid day nap might help.
Then again, I often find a mid day nap just gets me feeling inclined to zone out and shut down too.

Considering your age though, I would just assume your body is too busy growing.
Most teens tend to do what you are doing.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Wait a minute. You think you can sleep very little and not feel bad or sleepy the other day? Sorry but that doesn't happen.
As a person who suffers from sleep problems let me tell you that you are lucky. I can't sleep at nights and i walk all day like a zombie. Am freaking suffering and i even have headaches from the lack of sleep.
Don't ruin your nice sleep routine.

It's obviously because of how early you wake up, a lot of us who stay up late wake up anywhere from noon to 5pm, so naturally it's fairly easy for us.
Getting to sleep at a reasonable time is what I'd consider difficult.

Believe me, I've stayed up LATE because I've had some crappy school assignment that had to be done by the next day. I WILL get to a point where I think "fuck it..." but also think that I really HAVE to finish it.

I usually keep myself preoccupied with something that requires interaction. I.e. internet, writing stories or poems, and so on.
These activities are sometimes accompanied by energy drinks, but I find those make me more tired in the long run than if I refrain from them.

If you're trying to stay up late, go to bed late, sleep in late, and so on. There isn't much I can do for giving advice on the matter, if that is truly what you're searching for.
There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.

Simple. I have been getting up at 12 noon for the past week and what kept me awake was the internet, energy drinks are uneeded, they are horrible anyway. Just browse the internet or write stories or something.

Playing an online computer game is what makes me stay up late. If I'm not playing an online computer game, I usually fall asleep.
