Take up a new hobby, get a job, go out and do other things. Once you have other things occupying your time you begin to appreciate your hobbies more.

Also get better taste, holy shit.

I find that in my experience, only watching one series per go is the best to prevent a burn out. I honestly don't have the patience to watch every anime.

So take a break, come back and watch say, one anime per go. If it's an anime that is airing in Japan, then stick with that one and watch it once per week. I find that if you spread it out instead of going all in one, you tend to appreciate it much better.

I don't get how people can watch more than one at once unless stuff is currently airing and even then I don't think I will watch more than 2-4 animes a season. A may watch a film to break things up though.

let it go, it'll come back to you in a couple years, when you've made some strides in your life, anime is there for you when need it, I just came back to it after a long period of 5 year break and I just picked it up like it was breathing, I'm sure you will be able to watch an anime here and there, I think I did that, but if you're no longer immersed in it don't fight it, just go with the flow of life :)

Sooooo thanks guys! I see that even after 6 month there still have been posts. I am back to watching/reading Anime/Mange once again. I appreciate all your recommendations concerning this topic. What helped me (if someone has the same issue) was watching western stuff, pursuing my other hobbies and just not touching Japanese stuff at all. I'm currently watching around 2-3 episodes a day and read some light novel which is plenty for me. But reading through this thread showed me that i need to phrase my topics differently. I got a lot of helpful replies and only a handful of utter bullshit but i didn't expect anything else from the internet. To clarify, i have hobbies other than Anime (as I only watch/read for enjoyment and not as a fking sport) and have a stable social life. And people complaining about my taste...WTF? I have literally over 400 Anime in my list and you define my taste by one series? Furthermore taste is purely subjective and can't be changed as some of you guys phrased it but whatever. Thanks for the kind responses from everyone and the rest can suck my dick

I had that, maybe it's growing up. The break everyone keeps talking about lasted for me for about more than 2 years and I'm still not really out of it. Only very few anime can keep me going. Seems like it's part of growing up unfortunately, even though I have no problems with reading manga.
