Pretty cool episode too bad your basically forced to read the manga to get a proper ending. Not sure why they included the whole raid from the last episode if they weren't going to finish it. At least the fight was awesome and Keneki finally became a badass.

There was a few episodes of this adaptation I actually liked, but as a whole it was just ok. Weak 6/10. Was not a fan of the first arcs of TG but the Aogiri arc is where it really took off for me. Too bad they ended it here because I enjoyed the last ep. At least the anime was successful in attracting people to the manga i guess.

As a whole, the show was good but not great. But this episode was really great imo. Pretty horrific too. Never read the manga so I don't have anything to compare it to haha.

It would have been good if they atleast added 3-5 more minutes so we can atleast see what happens.

I can't believe they stopped at that point of the story so abruptly. Was that their cheap way of getting the ''cliffhanger feel'' so the audience would demand more? Big freakin joke.

Another season would be good but at the same time I don't care if it doesn't come after this kind of cheap theatrics.

Uh, so they just end it with everything happening outside? It was cool to see Kaneki beat the daylights out of Jason, but still, there's way too much left unfinished.

I enjoyed watching this series for sure, but bah, it's just way too open ended. Another thing is the censoring, oh god, I need to see an uncensored version so bad.

I was going to rant about how disappointing this was and why people gave this ep a 5/5, but decided against it. All I can say is that read the manga from the beginning if you actually want to experience Tokyo Ghoul.

I personally thought the censorship was as awful as ever. When Jason was choking the woman they blacked out half the screen well before any blood would have appeared, and from the looks of it she didn't bleed at all. The censorship is getting ridiculous, and when compared to the glorious lack of censorship in Akame ga Kill!, I can't believe it's necessary. They just want to sell more Blu-Rays.

BTW, taken by itself the episode would not have been half bad, maybe even one of the better episodes of the series ... but as a finale? OMG no.

Since this adaptation was a mess, inconsistent and lack poor characters I'm planning on reading the manga hoping it's going to be at least somewhat better. Should I start reading from the beginning? Thanks in advance.

meh...this episode. Well, the animation was good and the torture scene was nice and all, but even for a cliffhanger, this is so bad. :S

Yep. The anime was different in a lotta ways, so you'll want to start right at the beginning

Ugh, I dislike how Rize is really there. But whatever.
It wasn't really terrible but as an ending episode it really leaves a lot hanging.
I can't really see a second season happening, they cut so much stuff out and foreshadowing which turned out to be more important than expected..
It looks like Kaneki suddenly became ridiculously strong, in the manga he struggles more than that but it's expected since they were in such a rush.
This is like the only episode Kaneki actually gets character development.

I LOVED how Kaneki adapted the finger clutching thing from Jason.
It must be a tick from tortures... after all they both went through the same kind of tortures.

Wow I've been freaking trolled. I was waiting to see the one eyed ghoul king since last week and they just end the show in the middle of the arc.. Fuck you studio perriot, just fuck you.

The episode was pretty good but to end the anime like that is just a terrible move. Well I'll just continue reading the manga. I still hope we get a season 2.

The fight was nice but holy hell so many things were unresolved that could not be called an ending. Would've given 7/10 if there was a proper ending, but without that I give 6/10.

Even before I knew that this was a crappy adaption of the manga there was a few things about the anime that bothered me. It felt rushed but at the same time felt as if it wasn't going any where for a while and never gave much details as to what the f was actually going on. Then suddenly with like 4 episodes left in the 12 planned to air there was tons of actual story telling.

As I haven't read the manga (and I may never will) I can't say what the direction of Tokyo Ghoul was going, but what started off as something interesting just slowly disappeared. What was the point of half the characters or even most of the episodes? I'm all for open endings, I find them interesting and thought provoking. This was not an open ending, this was an episode where most of it should have been in episode 11 and half of or most of episode 11 should have been the last episode. This would have saved the show from dropping down from an 8 to a 6.

The sad thing is that it wasn't horrible, but with bad editing it just fell really short. If there is going to be anything specials/second season/extra episode in the future that can some how fix this big mess that is the last two episodes then I might rethink my current score. Though I doubt this will happen.

This needs a remake, not a second season. They changed too many things.

As an anime watcher I really enjoyed they way they ended the season!

From years and years of watching adaptations of books into movies, I have learned that they will never be able to fit every detail of a book into a film, anime, or TV series. So I think this anime included all the details I needed to know to understand what was going on.

Overall I give this anime an 8/10!

Really hoping that I see a second season someday. Even if I have to wait 8 yrs like I did with Mushishi!
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS!

Was cringing every time Kaneki screamed in pain TwT. Then I was tearing up because of how much he was suffering. Then when those two died I was like : 0 Holy.....Then finally white hair Kaneki BAD@SS against Jason. He got what he deserve 1000-7

I'm about 25 chapters into the manga right now and now I could see what everyone's gripes are about. This would have served better being a split season... and done by another studio.

I felt this episode was actually really well done. I love the character development for Kaneki and I thought the whole torture scene was really well done. However as a finale (if you can even call it that) it was dissapointing. There was so many loose ends from the last episode and the fight between Kaneki and Jason felt rushed. It would be a 5/5 if it wasn't a finale so I'll give it a 4/5 for this ep instead and a 7/10 overall for this anime.

I think this ending could be better if there's no censorship. Felt good though, was waiting a long time for the boy to grow up.

That wasn't really character development, unfortunately. It is but it isn't. He basically broke. We have nothing to go off of (ie future episodes) to see what his character actually develops into. All we know is he snapped but doesn't want to be a killer like Rize, which the final minute numbs that premise. He wants (needs) the power of the ghoul but doesn't want to be a dick per his conversation with Rize before symbolically feeding on (accepting) her. To say he grew up is questionable since accepting power isn't growth, how you use it will answer that question. Unfortunately, ending where it did only shows Kaneki going badass and being a bit cocky doing it. Everything else was left completely alone and thus character development at a climatic part in the story was...well it never will be. The action was cool though.

WOW is all I can say.

As much as I hate how poorly they adapted the manga, this anime is a thing on its own man.

This episode was crazy as FUCK. I knew what was going to happen, but seeing it animated HOLY SHIT. Just seeing jason getting fucked so badly hnng

And gotta give props for the last episode including some sexy Rize voice <3
this episode had me shaking from the craziness

9/10. I am pretending I didn't read the manga on this score because holy fuck this was a crazy ass finale, def setting up for second season which I will definitely watch even if its a poor adaptation again

Awesome anime, splendid animation, it's a shame that the adaptation was horrible compared to the manga.

Amazing last fight!

I know this show is supposed to be psychological (and probably gross) but tbh I don't feel anything the whole time watching this. It just... fell flat? Aside from Kaneki's struggle in the beginning, everything else just felt dragged on and somehow pretentious. I can't even begin to understand Jason's change to become evil. So he got tortured and now he becomes the torturer to.. what? "protect" himself? that's ridiculous even for an insane person like him. As a result the whole torture scene just became a showcase of Kaneki's VA ability to scream instead of a horror scene. It dragged on so much I had to skip scenes.

The action is also just so so, I don't find Kagune being as interesting as other fighting medium from other shounen like teigu, chakra/nen/ki, or devil fruits . Kaneki is useless from beginning to end, though of course being the MC he somehow gets a hax power up out of nowhere and is able to overpower a ghoul with so much more fighting experience and MUCH bigger muscle mass and raw power.

To describe this as anti-climatic is an understatement, 5/10. If the general story is like this I doubt the manga would be much better, even if there's more character development for example.

The fight was cool and the episode was good just like the first one. The only problem is, is that it is the last episode of the series and even though the fight was cool and seeing white haired Kaneki for a few minutes was cool but...what next? This was a really bad place to end it even if there will be a season 2. If there will be a 2nd part the whole anime would be better as a whole but I'm very disappointed and I'm slightly doubting a season 2.

This was a fantastic episode for me. It's a bad cliffhanger for the season but the episode itself was great. I now look forward to reading the manga from the beginning.

This was an excellent episode. But as a finale it's kind of total bullshit. Please tell me this is not the end. It was mainly just torture and Kaneki talking to Rize. Although white haired Kaneki was bad ass.

5/10. I had very high hopes for this series but it ended up being very mediocre, although I did enjoy it and super rushed. Time to start reading the manga, since everyone says its superior.

I agree that as a final episode this wasn't to good. Was to abrupt of an ending.

As an episode though I loved it :) I actually prefer him with the white hair and all crazy looking lol.

GG. Kaneki.

I respect. I agree. I understand.

Kaneki finally understand. I love this Kaneki. The ending was PERFECT. Such a freakin good series to have followed. Hope there will be a season 2.

5/5 This episode. Overall was just INSANELY awesome. Kaneki the pussy suck dick. But white Kaneki is MY Kaneki. :D

I will not bitch around how manga was way better, but there are two things I want to say.
1. It is sad that many people believe Kaneki is badass because his hair turned white. White hair =/= badass, and it has no weight at all in anime.
2. To everyone who decides to read manga, read it from beginning. Story will feel more complete, and you will see real depth Tokyo Ghoul has.

No offense but I seriously don't get the people complaining about the episode, I think it was the definition of awesomeness, crazy/badass kaneki's voice was great and the fight scenes were done well, I loved the white-haired Kaneki

Only thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger ending, NEED A 2ND SEASON

I didin't read the manga (but probably will now), and like the show.

Starting the first Ep, I felt there was potential to be as amazing as SNK, but rapidly I understood that no... it would just be a fun ride but nothing more.

And that's what it's been!
I am not sure why people are surprised, it was a 12 eps series, and looking at ep 11 there was no way to resolve anything cleanly... I thought the ending was fine.
It opens up to a S2, that I doubt will ever happen though.

I honestly thought this episode was kind of sort of fantastic.
Thank God I'm not the only one thinking that. It may be an overall very disappointing adaptation, but that episode alone was perfection. They really got the whole psychological part right.
Now the big problem is that everything leading up to this point was underwhelming and very lacking in substance, so it's perfectly understandable why the whole episode would just fall flat for some people.

Like someone pointed out, it actually reminded me of the level of quality that the first episode had, with its great visuals, use of camera angles, placement of soundtracks, pacing etc.
Now that I've seen this, I do believe Pierrot would have the ability to provide us with an acceptable remake, if they would just get more budget and stop the atrocious rushing. I doubt it's gonna happen tho.

This could have been so much better in so many ways, first and foremost if it wasn't rushed this fucking much.

I really liked the OP though
