So this weekend a friend comes to my place and he loves Fantasy/Sci-fi. I wanna watch a movie with him but I like thriller, detective and psychological more so I don't really know the kind of movies that he likes.

And that's why I'm here!
I'm looking for a movie (Not anime!) familair to Star Wars, The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit etc etc etc etc. (He also loves HellBoy but that doesn't really fit into the catagory fantasy/sci-fi) So yeah, please comment with awesome movies and maybe I can thank you later! :p

Edit:
For everyone who recommended iRobot:
Aaaaahhh! I saw that movie somewhere in 2010-2011 and I liked it, now I looked it up I remembered some things again and I want to thank everyone who recommended it lol XD

Edit2:
Thanks for all your suggestions! In my original post I talked about 'this weekend' and it's already Sunday so I don't need any more suggestions! Again,Thank you!

iRobot is something you'd both probably enjoy.

Well I can't recommend much other than older sci-fi/fantasy movie series I've seen.

Aliens
Back to the future
Close encounters of the third kind
Cyborg (Sci-fi and martial arts, not all that well received though.)
Ghostbusters
Independence Day
Predator
Riddick Chronicles
The fifth element
9 (An animated movie though quite interesting)

E.T
2001 A space odyssey
Moon
Close encounters of the third kind
Donnie Darko
Jurassic park
Irobot

These are some good ones, but you should look online for a top 100.

Blade Runner. The movie also includes your desired thriller, detective and psychological aspects.

Edge of Tomorrow.....surprisingly good movie, AND has the advantage of being based off of a light novel.

Minority Report .

It's a bit like Psycho Pass. Actually I'm guessing it may have influenced Urobuchi a bit to create Psycho-Pass.

I know it's not a movie, but the X-Files series seems perfect for you two.
