I've been watching so many hardcore action/ dark animes lately that im kinda gettin tired of it for now kinda wanna watch something a little bit more calm, laid back, relaxing. Maybe comedy too depending on the anime, idk. Anything good that isnt just all out non stop action, can be a drama w.e. Any suggestions? (Not Mushishi)

A guide to living with that one guys ugly signature on MAL.

1. See that SullyNathan has posted last in thread, abort thread.
2. After clicking quick reply, close eyes and type out reply.
3. Try to scroll as far down as possible before replying if you prefer to keep your eyes open.
4. Report said signature for being offensive to the eyes.
5. See he is active in thread, scroll through thread while trying not to have eyes burned, sigh, click back & lose interest.
6. Move to another part of MAL forums where he does not visit.
MAL Jesus where are you?

Really? I was on edge most of the time while watching this, and stopped at episode 4, just because the MC was perfectly scripted as a complete asshole who still manages to have everything work out her way. Absolutely hilarious, but not what I'd call relaxing.

For something laid back, you could try Aria the Animation, or Usagi Drop.

Or take this majestic suggestion:

SZS for a laid back/relaxing? Huh... don't think so.
There's a lot of heavy dialog with a definitely not calm pacing. Besides the themes aren't really what I'd watch for relax...

spice and wolf (the wolf god holo wants to go back to the north and makes a deal with a merchant, that she will grant him money if he takes her to the north, its very calm, many dialogues,a bot of romance and much trading in it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN_WgwEmRaw (opening, the opening is already relaxing XD)

guardian of the sacred spirit (a female body guard saves the prince, and the mother asks her later to take him with him and guard him, since the king wants his death, because he has a spirit in his body. so she takes him with him and grows slowly to a mother figure to him)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmJSwiHeOo4 (opening)

little busters (well its same art of comedy and drama as angel beats or clannad, well its also from key)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8--74pgXLpQ (opening)

Non Non Biyori (slice of life and comedy, but its rly rly fun to watch, its calm and it had such awesome comedy moments)

^It's at the bottom when you click on view the entire album, but indeed it should be at the top considering it's cited as the most relaxing slice of life by a lot of people.

Also, regarding Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou people really should read the manga for that. It's the epitome of the term Mono no aware I feel.

Oh, thanks. I didn't notice the "see more" tag.
...but now it's even worse.

How is THAT laid back, calm/relaxing?
I'd cut Kino no Tabi already for the parts of the script when it gets darker and more critic, but, man, Haibane?...
It's downright depressing at times. I [Personal opinion ahead] just kept crying like a little girl during the entire final arc. It's a drama after all.

Different strokes for different folks. I find it to be a very effective comfort food, for me. Yes, there are a lot of sad bits, but the world that it takes place in is calm and non-threatening.
Somewhere, there is an unplugged toaster sitting on a Coleman stove.

Does it feel lonely?

I suggested Haibane on the first page and to a degree I found it to be relaxing (at least at first, the environment for example) until it progressively gets even more mysterious, dark and drama orientated. It still retains a very dreamlike atmosphere though so I personally found it to be a combination of various things. It did depress me by the end since Reki is a relatable character for me.

Off-topic, but relating to Haibane Renmei for anyone that's a fan and enjoys reading I'd recommend they check out Murakami's "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" since Yoshitoshi ABe was heavily influenced by it. You'd notice a lot of similarities.
