Download. Also, even the high resolution streams from Kissanime for example aren't even 'true' HD sometimes and can have nasty audio sync issues...

^ This.

But seriously:
1. Use of better codecs give higher quality for less bandwidth than streaming.
2. You get to keep it to watch again later at any time.
3. You can transfer it to your mobile devices and watch on the go without needing constant a fast, stable internet connection.
4. You can still download it if your connection is not fast/stable enough to support streaming.
5. You get to choose whose subs you want - often, there are better/more accurate subs available than the ones on the streaming sites.
6. It's free (other than what you pay for your internet bandwidth)

I stream because I don't like to wait for the downloads to complete. I only download if it's an animu that has a high re-watch value in case I lose my internet connection.

Stream. I only download an anime if it has high rewatch value for me, and if it hasn't been released on DVD in my region.

However, Japan's piracy act is making me feel that I should start downloading all the anime on my PTW list, in case anime websites start shutting down in the near future. Though it'd take a long time to do so.

This is a no-brainer download for me. I've stopped taking streaming seriously when you have ad blocker installed, and the sites tell you to disable it LOL.

I stream if the Anime is on Crunchyroll and download if not. I'm trying to start downloading more. Now that I have realized I could watch Anime in much better quality. But it does take time to download and increase the chances of getting a virus.
Where are you downloading it from to get a virus? The normal anime torrent sites and subbers' pages don't carry viruses.

both.. depends on the anime and if the anime has a rewatch value. Some are worth to wait (simulcast if licensed or ger sub but german groups are slow, they are not ripping like HS f.e), some not ( speed subs xD )

Nowadays alot of streams are pretty much HD in quality so I dont see the point in downloading and consuming HD space.

Most of the stuff I watch, I would generally only watch once anyway. If it's something I want to actually keep, I'll buy the DVD if it's available subbed.

Downloading sometimes takes longer especially if a 24 episode season is 400 MB. On the other hand, streaming is faster and easier to find the content compared to downloading. I only download series if i like them but if I'm just watching it once, its not worth it to download it.

Personally I download. I prefer the higher quality and I archive the anime I'd consider rewatching or recommending to friends.

For a stream like experience, I download using torrent and set the options of the torrent client to download the video in order from the start to the end. And watch the video while the torrent is still downloading. [Then usually delete the file afterwards]
There, good quality and stream-like experience. Best of both worlds.

Streaming usually as bad quality and if you're internet speed is too low.
You get my drift, either way I download things because!

Because!

That's my answer and if that doesn't satisfy,
then I'll just say: Why not!
I ship things I want! Why? Because it's fun!
I post retarded shit at times, sorry-- my dumbness might infect you! Please be cautious of me!
I don't come with a security label!

My anime list hasn't been updated for a really long time, so it's not accurate!

Download because I hate waiting for every scene to load more than waiting for all episodes to illegally download in 1 go.

I like to watch anime in 720p and for stream in that resolution I need all my bandwidth, and that is just possible when I'm alone in da house.

Crappy internet.

I usually don't have a specific anime in mind so when I want to watch something I want to watch it at that very moment. That being said, I stream and download when I'm not lazy.
