I just saw FluffeeTalk's (a Youtube user) new video, where he talks about a Zonkey. Zonkey is a cross between a Zebra and a Donkey. I never knew such animal existed.. And I think it was a few days ago I found a article on the Internet about spiders big as a bird and gigantic worms. What a creepy and strange world we live in..

Have you guys come across any weird or perhaps cool animals?

Two days ago I met a couple of Boarigs (Boar x pig) that were really nice folks.

Thee is also the liger. And the wolfdog, that has actually two breeds recognized by FCI. And the mule (doh). And the zorse (harder than the zonkey, because the horse is far from the zebra in genetic terms). And the dox (dog x fox), which is really cute and really useless.

There were also some variations with bears and more large felines.

Why would we want a genetic mutation full of diseases without any kind of use to breed? Mules and wolfdogs are useful, at least that. And that they don't breed is good, that way you can choose what you want next.

Deleted off-topic posts. This thread has such simple subject matter, why is it so difficult for people to stick to it? Strange crossbreeds, weird deep sea creatures (now there's some creepy stuff) and other oddities of the natural world.

I didn't warn anyone over the posts I deleted, but if anyone posts nonsense from here on, they will be getting official strikes since I've said this. This is GD, and this topic has some merit, so please give it the opportunity to show some worth.

Nature has many "crazy animals" in the sense that they possess peculiar adaptations to ensure survival, like the pistol shrimp. As weird as it sounds, they deal sonic blows to their prey by clamping a claw very quickly, instantly vaporizing the water around the claw. The vapour bubble formed then instantly falls onto itself, and the crashing walls of the bubble create a massively powerful sound wave that disables the target. Wiki says the sound wave pressure can reach 80 kPa, so that's like having ~1 t of weight on your chest. Pretty incredible. Here's a related YT video.

Also, while technically not animals, but in the topic of living organisms, I find extremophiles fascinating. It's great to see how flexible the biochemistry we know is.

Ligers and Tigons are cool.

I wish Cabbits were real... Though I once saw a Jackalope pelt for sale at a Native American store. :P

Nagant, that white blobby thing you posted reminds me of Ziggy or Gluttony from Fullmetal Alchemist. Do you know what it's called?

As for strange animals that haven't been mentioned, I guess I'll put down the Zebrafish, which can regenerate most of its organs; the capybara, which is the world's largest rodent; the Komondor dog, which resembles a mop; the anglerfish, which has a lantern-like projection coming out of its head; and the psychedelic frogfish. Lovely creatures.

My favourite of odd "natural" animals is the South American Tapir. Their noses are so cool:

Echidnas are my favorite 'weird animal' (because of the whole egg-laying mammal thing). So adorable.

Another strange animal is the cassowary. Because of their wattles, casques, blue skin, they're easily the craziest looking bird to me. They're quite dumb as well - the male incubates and hatches the eggs, but if he walks away for a while, there's a chance he will have forgotten about them/no longer know what they are, and proceed to stomp on them. They're also evil. :K
