Good episode. I liked some of the plays. Mei in particular was awesome and made some great impressions. As for the aftermath, there were some glare downs or maybe I should say impressions. Well, if anything, I'm satisfied by how the game turned out to be.

Sakurazawa managed to hold the draw for a while.
Wow, Mei ending Sakurazawa's offence in an instant :O
Inashiro's batters sprint like insanely fast!
Sakurazawa having to stall the game as they won't get a hit from Mei.
Mei to be able to put that pressure which causes errors on Sakurazawa's fielders. That cleanup home-run completely ending the game.
Akira did really quite well to hold Inashiro for a few innings.

The finals!!! Really looking forward to how the Seido batters would be able to hit Mei's pitches!

SEIDO COMING FOR DAT ASSS!!!
OMG. Im so hyped! I need the next episode like now! my body is ready! Love when Eijun shouted how they would win :D
They totally floored Akira's team though. I did not expect them to win with 11 runs while making 8 of those runs in one inning. I was sad Akira lost because he was really passionate about playing with them at nationals. Mei saying they lost to the best team in the country! HA. we shall see about that!!!!!

"No, it won't."

Lol did Narumiya's balls drop with that line?

Anyways, Sakurazawa got crushed like a bug...owch.

11-0 that's just sad :( They handled the aftermath well. Hope that Akira doesn't give up on his dream. Their team is great and shows promise.

Also satisfied with how they portrayed Mei as a dominating force.Makes the Seido vs Inashiro match worth looking forward to.Will be epic with all those staredowns going on right now.

And I cannot wait for the next match!! So glad they extended the series. I hope they get to Koshien this year; it would really suck to lose against the same team twice!

Do they cut onions near the stadium or something? The way literally every single team cries like babies over what is, at the end of the day, just a school sports game is so stupidly over the top that it's funny as fuck.

Ouch Mei, don't say that to Sakurazawa after they lost :( Not sure if he was just commenting or he was trying to console them but still, ouch. Akira tried to get the team back together, which was nice because they did feel better, but too bad it went downhill from there. That fourth inning was brutal. Still, have to respect Mei and the way he is able to instill fear into his opponents just from the mound.

Ahhh tiny Miyuki next episode :D

This is what happens in real life in Japan, if you've ever bothered checking out a regional/Koshien game. Baseball is really important in Japan.

This guy clearly doesn't know Japanese baseball, much less Koshien and what it means to a high schooler. In real life, it's really heartbreaking seeing the team that lost crying after the match and gathering dirt of the stadium for memory purposes.

That said...at least this sad game ended. Little Miyuki next episode! :D I thought that this episode (chapter 48.5 of the manga) was going to be the OVA included in the limited edition of Vol. 46 of the manga. Guess I was wrong.

Bring the finals!

Did you all hear about the 50-inning game some high schoolers in Japan just played a few weeks ago (it was rubber baseball, I think. That doesn't make a difference though) insane pitch counts. They put in much more work than we do in the states; sacrificing friends, childhood, health etc. it's brutal but I would cry too after going through all that.

Sakurazawa man, that was hard to watch. I figured they would lose but I was really rooting for them.

That OST when the coach told Mei to "finish it" gave me chills.

I read about this game on Asahi. I seriously thought my eyes were playing on me because...woah, 50 innings to play (four days to that)! Both teams were scoreless until the top of the 50th inning when Chukyo High School scored 3-0. Although it was a rubber baseball tournament, it takes some insane and amazing pitching skills to be able to last scoreless for a single game that lasted 4 straight days. The pitchers were the same in those 4 days. I'd like to see MLB do that. Just yesterday I watched a game that made me think if the starting pitcher was even trying...

About this match, I was not happy when I read the outcome of this match in the manga and not even now but I've got to give my props to Narumiya. He's not that likeable a character but he's an amazing pitcher.

Ahh, I guess it is true that the Japanese take their high school sports very seriously. I'm not surprised that they cry after losing. I know what it feels like to work so hard in a sport for months and then get knocked out after losing just one game :/

I feel so bad for Sakurazawa, In most sports anime I've seen the underrated teams that the main character faces or etc. They either have untalented people or one player that is basically the foundation holding everything together. In Sakurazawa's case, they basically only had one person holding everything together(Akira). No one could touch Mei's pitch so the pitch.

I should have expected that Sakurazawa ends up getting trashed to hype up Inashiro a bit more, that's the way shounen handle things.

Kamiya Kun and Shirakawaare going to be a threat.

The way they cut the music and to Mei saying no, you won’t. 💀 the disrespect

Mei and his teammates are going to be extremely difficult opponent for Seido.

Akira is a great leader. However, the pressure really got to him. I feel awful for the Sakurazawa team, they did their best, but the outcome was inevitable.
