| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- WHAT THE... That ending! As much as I love the mangaka, her open endings sometimes really irk me. I want some closure, dammit!! I love all the characters. Their somewhat sinister sides, their observations, their relationship with Setsu... I was a fan of Dorii. At first I thought he was just the happy-go-lucky guy, but he's rather sarcastic. His death was sad, impactful, but not melodramatic. I'm glad Saki survived, but I feel like he's a tragic character because he's only been living for Luca. Now he has Setsu, but her sights are still on Luca and he'll probably never get to experience his own personal happiness. And there wasn't enough Luca! We got to see lots of flashbacks and his backstory revealed, but not much of him in modern day. I wanted to see plenty of development between him and Setsu, because I really like them as a couple/ their relationship. I wanted a happy ending, dammit. But we'll never get serious romance. Dx I'm still very glad I read this though, the setting is very different from her usual modern/school day, and I really like historical/fantasy-like genres. I liked the MC as well, because although she was obsessed with looking for Luca, she's strong, gentle, not nosy/morally aggressive and tomboy-ish. And the boys weren't overly bishounen either. The sentimental-ness was great as usual. I would love to see more work like this from Midorikawa - sensei. |
