| i think kageyama is the most three-dimensional and fleshed out character in the series. his faults are very human and i really like how this episode delved further into them. you dont blame him because you understand him; and you just root for him to pull through. oikawa is also a delicious mix of 95% charm and 5% evil. |
| even a genius is 'useless' when he uses his ability against his own team instead of helping it. that's what kageyama will learn soon enough. the battle between both setters is intense and interesting to watch. |

| Such a great match so far *o* Loved the little bits of development for Tanaka, and it seems Kageyama's past as King of the Court is coming back to haunt him. He's way too quick to shoulder the burden just like Oikawa said, even though he's playing as part of the team. Oikawa's just the better Setter because he's cool under pressure and has a great understanding of all of his teammates capabilities. Kageyama has only really brought out the greatness of Hinata, but what about everyone else? You can't win a Volleyball match with a duo. Well, I guess that's where Suga comes in since he's been playing with the others way longer. Kageyama got benched, but hopefully we get to see Suga shine a little- he's basically been off-court the entire season ;-; |

| Time to go cool down Kageyama, everyone can see you're getting back your state of mind before you joined this high school, except for you. I have a feeling they'll lose the first setting fairly quick but most likely will get the final 2 sets back after Kage realizes what he needs to do to get back in his state of mind before Oikawa got in his head. On the other hand, this season might end up with Karasuno losing to them, I definitely dont think they will win the tournament. |

| This match has had me feeling pretty bad, but not as an insult to the episode. It's doing amazing to have the sadistically obnoxious Oikawa dominating the way he is and goading our beloved Tanaka and Kageyama to lose it, it's especially awful to see Kageyama falling into his old habits. The bravado Kageyama showed at the end of last episode even convinced me, but it didn't last. He's been slowly cracking under pressure to the breaking point. I initially threw away my prediction that Hinata would need to wake Kageyama up this match, however now I'm falling back onto that. I can't imagine Suga will replace him for the entire set! It will be great to see the composed Suga play over the panicked king. We had a glorious Tanaka moment this episode. He became more than the fun comic relief who's also pretty good, he truly showed his stuff. Ukai states he's the second best after Asahi and notes his amazing traits that are that of an ace. He was targeted to the point of being crushed momentarily, his charming remarks stopped, yet he didn't let it stop him. Rather than needing to be comforted he does something I've only ever seen before in Baby Steps, which is smack himself in the face to redeem composure and go back in as hard as ever. He, being crushed only moments before, calls for the toss and spikes it like an ace, perfectly in the zone, and against three blockers. It's both a good thing and a bad, since I had assumed when Asahi left, Hinata would become the ace, now it's looking like Tanaka will take that role as a third year. I guess that wouldn't stop Hinata from becoming the second strongest alike how Tanaka is to Asahi right now. I heard someone say a strength of this anime is that it shows us every character equally and that's true. Tsukki's intellect and smart defense, Tanaka's mental strength, charisma and powerful offense, Suga's reliability, Kageyama's king-like talent, Hinata's incredible spirit and physique, Noya's team spirit and reliability and consistency, Asahi's ability to make it all count in the moment! Even Yamaguchi is growing in this way. It's a great thing to make everyone feel mostly equal, even if some end up more important than others. This along with the likes of One Piece are some anime that I wouldn't question anyone for having a favorite character in, everyone is reasonable! Certainly the most emotionally negative episode yet. |

| Damn I really want Karasuno to win this one but it seems almost impossible. Oikawa's serves and tosses to the rest of the team are awesome. Hopefully Sugawara will manage to turn the tables. It's nice that we'll be able to see him playing as well. |
| In basketball, players don't really mind that much when they get benched, apparently it's different in volleyball where players almost consider it personal lol. Or it could be only in this show idk jack about volleyball |

| I don't know why the coach says Oikawa is not a genius when he is definitely one. He just doesn't have as much potential as Kageyama does. No one can be "the best overall player of the prefecture" without huge talent. I'm sure that Oikawa is also much smarter than Kageyama. But well, it's a shounen so Kageyama will be better in the future because he is a genius ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'd call it bullshit if Karasuno wins this match. |

| Oikawa is destroying everyone including Kageyama, he lost his cool at the end. Honestly, the change of Kageyama for Suga was unexpected but necessary at the same time. |

| each game is better than the previous one lol, strategy just keep getting the match to another levels. kageyama lost too much to oikawa, he fall to that trap too easily. |
| This just keeps getting better and better. This match is easily the best one till now. I like how the author hasn't discarded Kageyama's faults. He is still a human and needs to improve. Oikawa is a charming genius. It will be interesting to see who wins the match. |
