I think that as readers we need to understand that no manga character every really has common sense, I don't think that they'd last long she wants to support him, but I don't feel like he's committing himself to the relationship...that tea cup is s*** going down next chapter |

| Some credit to the author for not making the shyness just a gimmick, and we see Suiren finally get over her half-hearted encouragement of Kawasumi and actually wanting him to succeed. And Atohira actually cares for Kawasumi, even if he's a bit blunt. He's pretty honest that he can only spend so much time doing things, and he's gotten from the point it seems he doesn't hate Kawasumi, he just cares about him. Also, Atohira may be blunt but he's finally hit the nail on the head: Suiren's not just shy, she's been bottling so much stuff and she probably doesn't even realize it. I was wondering if the author would actually address that she's not just shy, she never seems to express any real emotion, even in private. Even though she's the protagonist and we have a view in her mind and her constant stream of thoughts, we rarely bridge the gap into her emotions, rather than conscious thoughts, and that makes her feel distant. Unlike Kawasumi, who's shy but can smile ear-to-ear (although we haven't seen it in 30 chapters...), Suiren's cons, and here Atohira just blurts it out. Atohira's pretty quickly my favorite character here. |
