That was a rather unique episode. I didn't really get the part where the mushi floods out the eye, but it was certainly astonishing and disturbing.

This show is pretty chill. I like it. In this episode we learned more about things from the last episode. In the last episode there was that same type of stream and now we know more about it. I also think that this second eyelid thing is going to be an important thing throughout this series.

I'm glad I came back to pick this anime up after about a month I put it into my On hold list.

Fantastic episode, great soundtracks. 5/5

Very happy that Sui's illness was cured by Ginko at the end.

Much like the masses I like this episode more too. At first I though Sui was trying to get the boy to lose his eyesight as well so they could always be together. Glad I was proved wrong. I only wished Ginko showed a little more emotion, he seems a bit like a robot at times.

The music in this anime is terrific. It's eerie but also very peaceful and serene. I'm amazed with the soundtrack. This episode was great; I really loved how it seemed to be slightly sinister but beautiful at the same time.

To be honest, the part where the mushi came out of her eyes was a bit disgusting.

The theme, soundtrack, background, all are beautiful, though.

A beautiful and strange story, even with the "eye scream" elements. The kids were adorable at the end. I love how blunt and mysterious Ginko is.

A bit of armchair psychology: Sui's story in this episode can be viewed as similar to depression. It's likely to get worse if you're isolated. For Sui, the loss of her only contact with the outside world was the last straw, and the thing in her eye consumed her, similar to self harm or suicidal thoughts.

Another way to look at the story is that it can be harmful to close yourself off to new ideas, and that a new perspective can often be very beneficial. But I'm really just spitballing ideas here...

That was a beautiful episode with the stream of light. And holy shit the moment she opened her eyes scare the fuck outta me when there's a goo coming out of it. Haha.

Loved the way this episode ended; it was so cute. :)

I wonder how Ginko lost his left eye maybe he went through the same.

This anime is so peaceful I s2g. It gives off Natsumi Yuujinchou vibes a lot, but unlike NY which has a lot of funny moments, this one's really serious. Hihi.

"Maybe he's trying to take a shit, but the shit just won't come out."

hmm why did Ginko keep his artificial eye instead of making it into a real eye just like he did for the girl?

This episode is in some ways relaxing, but also very melancholy and poignant in the narrative. The soundtrack is very beautiful, just suited to situations that are told in this anime series. A really nice episode here too. I noticed that the girl has a kimono similar to that of the other girl seen in the previous episode, who knows why there is this coincidence, mah!

This episode was more disturbing than the last. I like how we got to see a more sinister side to mushi, as this episode really gave us a glimpse into the damage they can do. Also had a nice reveal about Ginko that gives more questions than answers. Like...what happened to Ginko to make him lose his eye? Did he have a similar experience with that particular type of mushi as the girl did? It seems that based on his knowledge about how to deal with them, we can assume that he went through the same thing. Could this be what caused him to become a mushi-shi?

And then there was that mysterious image at the end of Ginko sitting there with is eyes closed and the river of light is right behind him. Maybe this means that Ginko is always close to life itself and always tempted to look directly into the river and one time, he gave in to that temptation and lost his eye...and that lure is always there.

(Also, notice that even the moon looks like an eye, as it's curved in such a way to give it an eyelid...you can see it at the start of Ginko's process of healing the little girl.)

Eye-related illnesses always make me squirm all around and Sui's Mushi infestation reminded me of how uncomfortable I feel about the whole dilemma she's been having. She could've cosplayed as 2B with Biki as 9S since he caught the same affliction but I don't think they'd be able to show it off in pitch black darkness.

Sui's eyes flooding the whole place really reminded me of Spirited Away~ I'm really glad that Gin happened to have a glass eye to spare for her and willingly part with even if he wasn't going to get anything in return. It's like he's relieved that he doesn't have to tell anyone to stay away from the river of light anymore but there's also a really heavy feeling of melancholy when he sits there alone.

This reminds me of Monogatari so much, the uneasy phenomenons similarly give off creepy vibes. The second episode was way better than the first, now I genuinely feel like binging the entire show, haha. So, those Mushi creatures can be dealt with using objective methods too, even while they're semi-abstract. I'm surprised to see the "second eyelid" concept in an anime, it's a pretty trepidatious sleep technique, useful when fooling around with lucid dreaming.

So the existence of Mushi is common knowledge? They aren't something like aberrations from Monogatari where only a few people know of/believe in them? Stupid Biki. You can't even close your second pair of eyelids? It's kind of cool that if you close your second pair of eyelids you can communicate with others that are very far away. If it hurts to be in the light, why were you in the middle of an open door leading outside? Stupid Biki. Kind of cool that there are more Mushi-shi like Ginko. Wonder if we will ever meet more. The liquid coming out of her eyes was more terrifying than any horror anime I have ever seen. Disgusting. I always thought that the hair covering his left eye was a stylistic choice, not that it was actually covering the fact that he doesn't even have a left eye. Why doesn't he make two eyeballs for Sui if she is missing both? Or better yet, pocket some of that miracle liquid and make an eye for himself later?

The emotional tone of this show really resonates with me. Especially the subtlety in the emtions of the characters. Even when concerned there is this notion of acceptance.

I wonder if this would qualify as audio-visual therapy.

The strengths seen in the previous episode are not lacking in this one: dramatic and sad moments alternate with more relaxed and positive moments, and romantic moments too. The narrative is always intimist, which finds a valid help in the main protagonist and in those that follow one another in the different stories told by the anime series. Soundtrack always catchy and suitable for contexts.

that was good, although slightly horror-esc, admittedly i did flinch a bit, i'm squrmish when it comes to eyes and bugs and what not messing around just gives me the shivers.
very heartwarming ending, got a bit of potential backstory on Ginko and his own history with Mushi
God that ending though with the stream of light, looked really calming especially with the music playing

I immediately closed my eyes like what Sui said lol and I couldn't see anything. I'm.. so grateful for that.

I wonder, how did Sui with her eyes closed like that could tell that Ginko is a man with one eye? Also why did Ginko keep his artificial eye instead of making it into a real eye just like he did for Sui?

But anyway, I really liked this episode.
