LMAo why the fuck is everyone saying that you can just press fight attire and they change to their fight attire. Why can't they remove clothes to change? I mean it's a gun shooting game after all, which means that clothes can wear and you'll have to change in the battlefield. IE: DayZ doesn't just let you change your clothes in an instant. You remove them, pick up clothes on floor, wear them.

I know you're talking about the standalone version of DayZ, but in the DayZ MOD you actually do change clothing in an instant. I actually prefer it that way myself.

So, Kirito owned that guy. This season instead of GGO should be called Star Wars Online.. Lightsaber, that Laughing Coffin guy is basically like Darth Vader.

Interesting episode anyway

It's just how the GGO (and SAO) game system works. It's not really that hard of a concept to understand different games work different ways based on the creators intention, and in a full-dive environment it makes more sense to make it a bit more like real life then gamey, since immersion actually exists in a VRMMOG

In my opinion it narrows down to personal preference. Even though VR games are more immersive and real life-like, they still need to be convenient in order to be fun. I don't imagine switching out different battle suits, as you would in real life to be convenient at all.

Because no one has the insane reflexes like Kirito. Any other player would probably be dead before they could get into melee distance. He parried every single bullet thrown at him disregarding the initial bullets he took.

Helps with immersion. I don't mind it. Imagine a situation where you're decked out in heavy armor, and you're in an inn. Do you sleep with that bulky-ass armor? Or switch to more casual, comfortable clothing?

You're walking around a shopping area, but you don't need to be in combat. Do you still wear your combat suit? Or wear more comfortable everyday clothing?

It's VR, so they probably simulate the feel too. Immersion is everything, and this is an MMO. If you just want to play games, they probably have FPS games for the AmuSphere too, that are not MMOs.

You know what?

I like it. I'm surprised. I didn't want, didn't expect to like this anime since the first season was such a disaster. But admittedly, I'm intrigued!
It might be in some part due to a friendly Tumblr user who informed me on some of the plot holes that explain for Kirito's ability and why he has a different avatar from everyone else. Firstly, the more games you play and the more experience you have in them, the more agility you'll have, which explains the speed that he used to beat the casino game. Additionally, the gruff, middle-aged man avatar is, from what I heard, the most common one, and it doesn't necessarily represent who the person actually is. Avatars like Sinon's are rare, Kirito's even more so.

At the beginning, with the whole Sinon undressing scene, I kind of laid my head in my hands and thought, "Please, no more fanservice. I can't deal with this." But to my pleasant surprise, the BOB tournament is interesting. Yes. I thought this was going to be a terrible season, but you know what, I'm actually looking forward to see what's happening next. I'm a huge SAO skeptic who doesn't believe that SAO can be anything but mediocre at best, but with the plot of this new season and the more slower pace that allows things to be explained, SAO might end up redeeming itself somewhat [ nothing can make up for that disaster of ALO ].

What I found particularly of note was when Sinon said she would take revenge on the strong people. Did the stress from her murder alter her mind in some way, or does she just have an extremely strong desire for vengeance upon stronger people based on her weaknesses in real life? With this, she seems like a well-rounded character, albeit overpowered, what with our introduction to her and all. But unlike Asuna, her personality comes off as interesting and it doesn't disappoint.

So now, makers of the GGO anime, I now have a bit of faith. I believe you might be able to make a good anime, devoid of excessive and unnecessary fanservice, plot holes, and characters who aren't actually who they appear to be [ in a bad way ]. So far, it seems like a much better job has been done in this season. Reluctant as I am to admit it, I'm impressed.

I'm surprised Sinon even considered the possibility of Kirito making it to the finals, she saw a little bit of what he can do but she still shouldn't know how good he is at these games, and since he just started playing the game she probably should've expected him to lose in the first round.

Kirito soundwhoring ftw.

So Death Gun has the Laughing Coffin emblem on his wrist. How did he customize his character? I thought you couldn't customize your character in GGO and that's why Kirito has to play as a female.

Damn that was cool, things are starting to pick up.

It's good to finally see Kirito in action to see what his style is going to be throughout the game, he's definitely going to have the element of surprise against many players.

That ending though, that gave me chills. Me and Kirito simultaneously recollecting all the old faces and nostalgia trying to figure out who Death Gun is. He's definitely intimidating.

THIS is what I wanted to see. The ending for this episode made me VERY happy.

Throughout the whole ALO arc, the one thing I thought would have made it more interesting is if Kirito had run into someone that was an SAO survivor like him and knew someone who was still in their NerveGear.

Bringing Laughing Coffin back into this series was a ingenious move that has the potential to bring SAO back up to the glory it had when it first came out. Having Death Gun be an SAO survivor adds multiple layers of depth and emotional investment to this whole arc, and now I honestly can't wait to see what happens next!

No, it isn't that GGO people can't customize their characters, it's that Kirito's character conversion was handled by the government people, not him. I think his GGO character design is a joke pulled on him by his invasive nurse.

Actually no <_<
The avatar creation is random.

The thing on the wrist is probably just a decoration item, those are VERY popular in mmo games and with this being a VRMMO then surely there are more options for stuff to wear. I'm pretty sure custom wristbands exist in GGO.

Well, that twist was unexpected, well done. Though now I have to wonder whether he is one he killed before (which would be weird as his brain would be goner) or another one from those Laughing Coffins. But he knows him, that's for sure.

And that jedi lightsaber skillz, you don't tell me he's gonna win with this technique all the way up to preliminaries, right? (guess we also have story for another 8 or so episodes up to battle with Sinon... well)

Nah ... forget about the other survivors in ALO arc. What is the worst Is That they had completely skipped part about Jötunheimr. On the other hand That would mean ALO arc That probably would have needed 2-3 more episodes.

Yep... he is going with sword skillz through nearly all battles... and that attack at the end of the fight was "Vorpal Strike" one of the strongest one-hit attacks for Single-handed Sword Skills

Aaaand by the way. Kirito used this skill aganist Kayaba in their firs fight.

OH... and one more thing NerveGear and AmuSphere let you to discard some of the noises (lets call it Jedi mode) thanks to that Kirito was able to find Uemaru. Everything you can find in the LN.

A guild that Kirito was one of the instrumental people in wiping out from SAO.

Very good episode, a little action, pretty much the remainder of the exposition, a little fan service put to good character use, even a little clue as to why the villain was watching Kirito's contest in particular (this will probably be one of the two things that the haters will hate upon, so let me start by saying that for now this is a mystery, however a clue has been dropped that will have more importance later as the mystery is resolved).

The other thing of course will be "how did Kirito have such amazing hearing when he never had it before". Of course not true, in episode 4 he heard people through a door (when Silica could not), and in episode 8 he tracked the ragout rabbit, which is a rare good. They even said that he trained to have that skill, so yes Kirito is a great tracker.

Of course haters are going to hate despite having their complaints explained, responding to them only makes them worse, so instead of responding lets just say "been answered, here is the post" and ignore them. Most of them will leave immediately, the remaining ones might have a decent point.

People are going to complain about this, so here's the LN excerpt.

Phantom said:
"Right now, the gunfire stopped. I suppose Uemaru is again hidden
amongst the grass and is ready to come over from the left or the
right.

I closed my eyes and concentrated with my ears.
The wind continued to blow. At this moment, I tried my best to
eliminate the noisy sound effects from my consciousness and
concentrated on the rustling of the swaying grassland to hear for
some irregular sound in this system.

This was a skill that could only be done in a VR space where I can
isolate each sound completely. From the time of SAO, this «Outsidesystem
Skill» helped me out a lot. For example, an S level ingredient
«Ragout Rabbit» would require this skill to deal a fatal blow.

But as for whether I’m able to succeed or not—

And this moment, my ears caught an irregular sound coming from
the rear left side from 7 o’clock to 9 o’ clock. He moved for about 2, 3
seconds before stopping and started to probe my position.
The enemy then started to move, stop and got ready to move again..."

Wrong. Kirito used the sword skill from SAO, but it wasn't done with game helping. In SAO you only had to start motion for sword skill the rest was done by the system. Here Kirito did everything by himself without help from the game. The same thing happened in ALO but it wasn't as visible like Here.

Good to see what SAO does best, those awesome-ass action scenes. Kirito using a lightsaber to deflect bullets, and without Force powers ... because he's Kirito like that.

Was somewhat less amused by the stereotypical misunderstanding following by a slap. I get really, really sick of that gag, anime.

So it turns out that Death Gun is another SAO survivor, and was one of the Coffin gang of PKers that Kirito ran into long ago. Interesting.
